Her camp was three days a week for three weeks and commenced with a 'horse show' and family picnic at the end. The stables and pastures are very nice, and the staff appeared very knowledgable and care about what they do and the horses they tend to. Overall it is a nice facility and my daughter is eager to go back. While I can't speak to the boarding, the place looks top notch and has been in business for over 50 years.

I've had 2 nice show horses with her and she's probably one of the kindest trainers I've had(I've had a lot!) I boarded on the inside and even on a budget she was willing to help me navigate ways to save money during show season etc. Some of my lifelong friends were made at this barn! Everyone was SO helpful and willing to help made going to the barn so much fun! Cara the owner always was willing to listen if I needed something different for my horses and saw her make helpful accommodations for different boarders. They both were amazing and helpful and all about SAFETY which I appreciated if I brought my kids along! BEST PLACE ever to board and top notch care I never once worried about my horses care there. I will miss their guidance now that I have to do it by myself now!!

I found exactly that here at AME! The horses are well cared for and genuinely seem happy, which says a lot about the program. One of the things I appreciate most is the atmosphere. The younger riders encourage one another, everyone is welcoming, and there is a true sense of community. The facilities are functional and always improving, but what really makes this barn special is how it feels. I never worry about fitting in or keeping up appearances. I get to be the most authentic version of myself every time I walk through the gate, without judgment or expectations. The common thread among everyone here is simply a love of horses. If you're looking for a welcoming barn with quality instruction, happy horses, and an environment where riders of all ages and goals can enjoy the sport, I would absolutely recommend Ashley Mason Equestrian.

I only spent a short time at this barn and left about a year ago, but I how disappointed I was in…read morethis place has stayed on my mind. during the time when I first signed up, I was told about how great it is, how custom the programs are, how many different opportunities there are, and the truly personalized care everyone receives; inclusive. while I do agree there are some neat opportunities when Ashley brings in other professionals for classes or clinics, it is not worth the pain of everything else. it was and still is my understanding that only a relatively small group of people are prioritized and have had good experiences, but from what I have experienced myself, the following is very likely a more realistic picture of what you will get. for one, how much you are paying matters... if you are on the lowest tier, you are lowest on the list of people Ashley cares about and it is hard to advance if you do not have the budget. her effort with me, not being a more wealthy client was astonishingly low. even those I had known to pay for the most expensive package for lessons/showing/boarding felt jipped when all was said and done. regardless of that, lessons with Ashley specifically (not the other trainers) were extremely unstructured and little instruction or advice was actually given. She very clearly either had little interest in or had difficulty paying attention to more than one student at a time, so group lessons (basically the only thing available unless you are a special few...) are basically "supervised" freestyle practice... and I once saw a lesson with approximately 12 students... it was a mess and the arena was not sizable enough to safely accommodate that many children, in my opinion(all inappropriate considering the price and what was promised). while every trainer has their own philosophy, and they do not work for everyone, which is okay, Ashley had particularly strange rules about never jumping a single horse above 2ft unless it was in competition (if this has changed since, I do not know), so I felt extremely under challenged and frustrated as a rider of 10+ years who did not have the financial flexibility to partake in competition. The goal of this was to home in on the basics of riding/jumping in the hopes that it would translate to higher jumps but in reality that is not how it worked if you cannot ever practice the more difficult courses or higher jumps. the second goal of this rule was to be gentle on the horse's and pony's legs because these animals were CONSTANTLY in use... I think way more clients were being taken on than could be practically scheduled or handled. All that is to say, this was my experience when I was even able to get a lesson. I was cancelled on repeatedly and it was hard to reschedule. Communication was a huge weak point of this facility (although Ashley has no problem openly saying judgemental things about her students to other clients and employees). during one month I had paid ahead in full, and was not able to get in for a single lesson because time management is a huge issue here (only one lesson out of that month will I conceed and say the cancellation was truly beyond anyone's control) Ashley agreed to suspend payment and give me the next month for free because of this, but I was never scheduled then either. I was never contacted again, though I tried, never saw any money back, and quit the place in frustration. While employees and student volunteers did their best to keep the place clean, stalls were not to the standards that I think any self respecting horseman would allow. since leaving I have only heard other horror stories about neglect of the animals, which is certainly much more serious than my own personal gripes about lesson quality or Ashley's personality. the bottom line is that there are double standards, promises often go unfulfilled, there is an air of immaturity, and this place is not of the quality it tries to portray for horse or rider.

Yes, it truly is an ENGLISH riding/show stable, where I have yet to meet one person who has a western saddle of any type, not that there is anything wrong with western, only the western people who criticize those of us who follow a different beat.. There are 3 trainers who's specialties include equitation, dressage, hunters, jumpers...etc. The barn is kept IMPECCABLY clean, even the kids there clean up after themselves and their ponies. There is a beautiful indoor arena, complete with mirrors in some places so you can check your "seat." A hunt course outdoors that has the size worthy of being called a hunt course, and also a nice dressage arena located just beside the hunt course. They also host clinics with some really great clinicians and occasionally host shows. The wash stall has hot and cold running water, and is located IN the barn away from the dirt so your newly washed horse stays CLEAN. The barn owner is also a horse person and she really cares about each and every person and animal who boards there. Everybody I have met there has been friendly and helpful. The kids are very well mannered, in fact they are the best group of kids I have encountered at any stable ever. This is definitely what I am used to, being from the Cappo area of Orange County. The only thing missing that i think is essential, especially in a cold weather state, is a hot walker....but that's it, and really...hot walkers are for the lazy, right??

It was cold, so prepare accordingly as the indoor stalls and riding area is not heated. We did a brief tour of the stable, and then the group was broken in two three groups. They got to ride 3 different horses, guided by some young girls for about an hour and then on to the cake and presents. It was a unique opportunity for my kids to ride. I was unaware this was even a thing - and it's about 25 minutes from Omaha in Blair/Bennington off County Rd 41.

A turnoff onto a non-descript gravel road leads you to the picturesque grounds of the American Legacy Complex. Horseback riding lessons are offered here and they have quite the facility. Both indoor and outdoor areas are here and several horses to learn to ride on. My son has taken a few lessons here and has enjoyed it. Safety comes first as my son was required to wear a helmet. Also, they learn to brush the horses towards the end of the lesson. The staff here is friendly and helpful. They also have horse events from time to time where they have rides, contests, etc. I haven't been to one yet with my son but plan to in the near future.

Instead they brought out 2 horses for our 12 girls and each girl was allowed to ride two different times for about 2-4 minutes each time. So in 2 hours, each girl got to ride a horse for a maximum of 8 minutes. And "riding" is a generous term, as they were led by a rope along a 25 foot circle. I would liken it to a pony ride at a fair. The rest of the time was spent "learning" how to brush the horses by again taking turns with one horse. Terrible, terrible waste of money, and a great way to disappoint little girls who are interested in riding horses.
