The camp my daughter attended went through the basics of horse back riding, along with tack and grooming. Her camp was three days a week for three weeks and commenced with a 'horse show' and family picnic at the end. The stables and pastures are very nice, and the staff appeared very knowledgable and care about what they do and the horses they tend to. Overall it is a nice facility and my daughter is eager to go back. While I can't speak to the boarding, the place looks top notch and has been in business for over 50 years.

Only left since we bought an acreage and has room for horses…read more Lisa the trainer was extremely helpful with all my horse questions and with a lame/sick horse she went the extra mile to help me. I've had 2 nice show horses with her and she's probably one of the kindest trainers I've had(I've had a lot!) I boarded on the inside and even on a budget she was willing to help me navigate ways to save money during show season etc. Some of my lifelong friends were made at this barn! Everyone was SO helpful and willing to help made going to the barn so much fun! Cara the owner always was willing to listen if I needed something different for my horses and saw her make helpful accommodations for different boarders. They both were amazing and helpful and all about SAFETY which I appreciated if I brought my kids along! BEST PLACE ever to board and top notch care I never once worried about my horses care there. I will miss their guidance now that I have to do it by myself now!!

I'd like to say I'm surprised at these bad reviews but I am NOT after our experience. If your child is not with the "in" crowd they will be left out of barn communications, ignored, and not properly taught horse things. My daughter attended for a very long time and still could never safely tie up a horse even. A few bad instances include no one assisting a 7 yo find the proper girth for a horse she hadn't ridden in over 6 months resulting in over an hour spent tacking and only getting a few minutes of ride time. Another is not being told lessons were going to be running late and Ashley herself ignoring all communication from me but responding in front of us to another parent. These are a few examples of what we experienced for months and I should have left sooner. After our last encounter I didn't even find it worth it to finish the time we paid for I was so ticked. I wasn't stepping foot back there. I was also told it was in their contract to have a SIXTY (ridiculous!) day warning to ending lessons but I never signed a single contract. I would also highly recommend being cautious buying a horse from Ashley. It was my fault for not doing my own vet check prior because I thought these horses were cared for. We purchased a pony who came with what Ashley INSISTED was sunburn on her eye. We did everything to try and heal this "sunburn" which kept getting worse. Upon a vet visit we discovered she was actually going blind which resulted in her becoming super skittish and not even safe. She actually ended up giving me a severe head concussion when I tried riding her towards the end landing me in the hospital. So I was not only out over 3k for that, we were also out 2.5k+ that we purchased her for and Ashley was unwilling to help what so ever in that or all the vet bills we acquired in our care with this. The pony ended up being given away to a previous owner which makes me happy but what a huge waste of money at about 4k in the dump. I am also certain with our Pony when she returned to the stables to be rehomed that she wasn't ever being turned out. It's really unfortunate but for the HIGH cost of this place I would stay far far away.

Yes, it truly is an ENGLISH riding/show stable, where I have yet to meet one person who has a western saddle of any type, not that there is anything wrong with western, only the western people who criticize those of us who follow a different beat.. There are 3 trainers who's specialties include equitation, dressage, hunters, jumpers...etc. The barn is kept IMPECCABLY clean, even the kids there clean up after themselves and their ponies. There is a beautiful indoor arena, complete with mirrors in some places so you can check your "seat." A hunt course outdoors that has the size worthy of being called a hunt course, and also a nice dressage arena located just beside the hunt course. They also host clinics with some really great clinicians and occasionally host shows. The wash stall has hot and cold running water, and is located IN the barn away from the dirt so your newly washed horse stays CLEAN. The barn owner is also a horse person and she really cares about each and every person and animal who boards there. Everybody I have met there has been friendly and helpful. The kids are very well mannered, in fact they are the best group of kids I have encountered at any stable ever. This is definitely what I am used to, being from the Cappo area of Orange County. The only thing missing that i think is essential, especially in a cold weather state, is a hot walker....but that's it, and really...hot walkers are for the lazy, right??

It was cold, so prepare accordingly as the indoor stalls and riding area is not heated. We did a brief tour of the stable, and then the group was broken in two three groups. They got to ride 3 different horses, guided by some young girls for about an hour and then on to the cake and presents. It was a unique opportunity for my kids to ride. I was unaware this was even a thing - and it's about 25 minutes from Omaha in Blair/Bennington off County Rd 41.

A turnoff onto a non-descript gravel road leads you to the picturesque grounds of the American Legacy Complex. Horseback riding lessons are offered here and they have quite the facility. Both indoor and outdoor areas are here and several horses to learn to ride on. My son has taken a few lessons here and has enjoyed it. Safety comes first as my son was required to wear a helmet. Also, they learn to brush the horses towards the end of the lesson. The staff here is friendly and helpful. They also have horse events from time to time where they have rides, contests, etc. I haven't been to one yet with my son but plan to in the near future.

Instead they brought out 2 horses for our 12 girls and each girl was allowed to ride two different times for about 2-4 minutes each time. So in 2 hours, each girl got to ride a horse for a maximum of 8 minutes. And "riding" is a generous term, as they were led by a rope along a 25 foot circle. I would liken it to a pony ride at a fair. The rest of the time was spent "learning" how to brush the horses by again taking turns with one horse. Terrible, terrible waste of money, and a great way to disappoint little girls who are interested in riding horses.
