Failed to deliver anything on time at all...failed to complete the project...what was delivered fell off the windows and was wrinkled and had to be replaced by another company. Promised a refund and then said "the check must have been lost in the mail." Had to finally dispute the charges on Amex. Would not use this company. Too bad. They seemed like nice guys initially.
Best in the biz!! Leo and his team were: *Timely *Professional *Clean and best of all, *Very reasonably priced! He took our very bright bedroom floor-to-ceiling window to almost total darkness. Prior to Leo, we had finally had enough of not being able to sleep in on weekends and taped layers of brown paper to our entire window (judge us later). When I mentioned to him that our quick fix may have been brighter, he recommended sidewalls that blocked the light from the sides. Those worked perfectly *chefs kiss. See for yourself :) Now I sleep so well at night knowing I can wake up to cave darkness on my own terms, and not the sun's!
They did an amazing job adding shades to 11 windows in our home. They were very quick and responsive to questions and very easy to communicate with. They came out for a free estimate, to take measurements and discuss the different options for our windows. They wore masks at all times out of courtesy to keep us comfortable during COVID. We had several different companies give estimates and there was really no completion to them. They had quality products, were the most professional and they had the most competitive pricing. They ordered the shades we decided on and installed as soon as they came in. Everything, including the price, was just as discussed. We are extremely satisfied with the outcome. I highly recommend them for windows treatments! They are already working on our next project, custom drapes for our master bedroom.
So I found shadows through Yelp . They quickly responded to my request for a quote , and then scheduled an on-site consultation. Leo and Matt are fantastic in every way ! Super friendly , polite , and what a made a HUGE difference for me was the fact that they were honest and upfront about everything! They explained the differences between the materials , our options , and what look and feel would make sense for our home . They helped us pick out the style that made the most sense for our home and the budget that worked for us . I would highly recommended them to anyone !!
This company deserves 10 stars!! I had 4 different companies gave me quote but I decided go with Shadows because of the option and the price they gave me. The plantation shutter was for older home, so the existing window frame was very shallow. One company told me that I had to remove the frame and replace with new ones. Other said that they will have to add outside frame and the finished products will look bulky. Thank goodness I found Shadows on Yelp! With Shadows they were able to work with my existing frame and made my old windows looks new again. From the first visit they were very thorough, prices were competitive, communication top notch, and they were very professional. They wore mask the whole time they're in my home. They also follow through with the timeline they gave me. They told me it'll take 4-6 weeks. And at 6 weeks mark, Matt called me to schedule the installation. The employee that come to install the shutter came early and work professionally. He kept everything organized and installed everything perfectly. And also when he was done with each window Matt actually went to check all of his work to make sure all done properly. Apart from the excellent product and service, Matt and Leo was very nice, friendly and easy to deal with. I have encountered few of rude vendors. So this whole experience was very great. I will definitely recommend Shadows to friends and family and will contact them again for all of our future projects! Thank you so so much!!!!

Although we received other estimates, we decided to go with Shadows, and the service was excellent from start to finish. The communication was alsoabsolutely awesome!!
Couldn't be happier with Shadows Design! Matt and Leo went above and beyond and the whole process was much faster and easier than I had anticipated. I was worried that an installation would take away from my new home as it's a historic building with a French Normandy exterior and everything was restored. However, I literally couldn't be happier with the result! After requesting a consult via Yelp, Matt and Leo reached out and they were at my place with books of fabric options a few days later as they took measurements. I had a proposal quote at the end of that same day and the custom blinds were ready and installed a few weeks later. Matt and Leo took the time to listen to what I wanted and ran me through the pros and cons of each option. I ended up getting the fabric wrapped cornices for the outside mounts and the Verilux motor system and the results exceeded my expectations. Additionally I got the blackout option for the bedroom and it works a treat. I highly recommend Shadows to anyone and everyone! Thank you Matt and Leo!

Matt gave wonderful consultation what designs worked for the space and whether we should go with shades, blinds, or drapes, to fit our family life with 2 young children. He was then super responsive through the entire process and made everything from fabric choices to installation a breeze. Super happy!

Leo and his team are the most reliable and experienced. We contacted Leo on Christmas Day and he responded within one hour. They were very easy to work with. We had an in person evaluation where Leo explained the process of selecting and ordering to us. There was a very nice selection of fabrics. We ordered Roman shades, cordless wood blinds and drapes for our new house. This was the first time we were ordering window treatments and Leo patiently answered all questions and gave us wonderful suggestions. Leo kindly provided us with temporary shades which he mounted for us. We asked Leo if we can have the shades before we moved in ( less than 5 wks from the time we ordered). To our surprise, we had all the treatments mounted 3 days before we moved in. Every single piece looks flawless. I never knew how important window treatments are to the look and feel of the house. Thank you Leo and his team!
Update: Matt has zero accountability, evades my points, and even tries to lie about me. Please avoid him and his company at all costs! I am ready to prepare for legal action if he continues this. Matt has called my review inaccurate. Every single problem I listed below is ready to defend with evidence. He knows that. It's amazing how hard he tries to twist my review and avoids any accountability for his actions! I will now spread the word even more in the hopes that true, honest small businesses get awareness over people like this. 1. Matt has now lied that I threatened him with a negative review. I have posted the pictures here to show that he asked for a review and that I was preparing a good one for him despite all the ridiculous problems he gave me. But I was waiting until the damage he caused was fully dried after repainting to be sure. So when I discovered that it was the wrong paint and there was a failure to help me connect to the motor, that made me change course and write this review instead. 2. "Minor paint scratches?" Did Matt really try to lie about that too? There were indentations that I have pictures of and we can uncover to see the fill-ins. So let's see if he continues lying about that one. 3. The strictness of my building management has nothing to do with the problems I listed below. It caught us all by surprise that we needed approval for a simple installation. So we rescheduled for a week later once my building approved it. 4. I acknowledged in the original review that he gave me a good price. But that was greatly overshadowed by the long list of problems his company caused me. Original Review: Here's the list of things that went wrong during my installation that took three separate visits. The only reason there's one star is because the shades were offered at a good price. - Scratched and dented my wall in multiple places (neglected to bring a second guy for my high window and struggled with one person) - Incorrectly measured my window and brought in shades that were too big. - After bringing two guys the second time, one of the installers incorrectly installed the fascia. - One of the installers suggested a laser measurement in another visit to show that the shades weren't crooked but that my wall was, then denied he ever suggested that for me. - The third visit, they filled in my dents and scratches but the paint was completely different a week later after drying. - They tried setting up my app connection to the shade motor, nothing worked, then suggested that my WiFi was incorrectly set up. Then my internet company and I confirmed that the WiFi was set up perfectly for the app connection. So that was wrong too. I don't know what else to say. I guess if you don't want the hassle of three separate visits, many hours to install a shade, damage to your home, and more problems, please look elsewhere. read more

I just had plantation shutters installed throughout my home. Installed by Shadow custom window coverings. I am so pleased with the installation the look and the wonderful customer service that I received from Leo.The owner of the company Leo also came out and stayed throughout the entire installation to answer any questions I might have, I have never had an owner of a company come out and show this kind of concern and care.I was dealing with another company prior to going to Leo and Shadow custom window coverings and they didn't appreciate my business but Leo was on top of things throughout the entire process. Leo and Matt are nothing short of professional and experts at what they do. They installed for me motorized shades for my high windows and two smaller window shades. There are a lot of variables when it comes to shades; materials, design, motor, roller, pulley, etc. which I'm not familiar with at all, but Matt and Leo were patient and involved to help me decide the best combinations that worked for me and my budget. During installation, they brought all the necessary equipment and tools to get the job done and did so efficiently and quickly, and vacuumed up after they finished. I also researched and got quotes from 4 other vendors and Shadows provided the best pricing as well. Two things though that stood out to me the most working with them were: 1) They made it a point to provide a in-person consultation and did so Covid-safe, taking all the necessary precautions. I highly encourage in-person consultations over phone consultations/quotes because there's details that can be missed from the customer's end that can prove to be meaningful in terms of installation and pricing. For example, all the other vendors (which I only had phone consultations with) advised I'll need at least two motors given the specs I provided on the phone, however, with Shadows, they advised one motor is more than sufficient, which saved me significant $$, something that was flushed out since they were able to assess the space live. 2) On our first scheduled appt, I had a family emergency that left me unable reach out and let them know I could not make the meeting at my place. Upon realizing I was not reachable, they kindly and professionally left a message to reach back out to reschedule at my convenience. I called them back a few days later to apologize and to explain what happened and they were very gracious and were more considerate of my well-being than the missed appt. Leo and Matt are absolutely the greatest! We had met with a few other window covering companies but Leo, by far, had the best eye for detail and design, was willing to work with us on finding solutions to hiding hardware and ensuring they blended in to the room rather than being a distraction. He had great communication throughout the entire process and was committed to making sure we were happy. He uses a great installer and was there every step of the way to make sure things were done correctly. We met Matt, his partner, toward the end, and he was equally as knowledgeable, creative, and a joy to work with! We couldn't be more happy! read more

I can't say enough good things about Leo and Matt. Not only are the very quick to reply, but their service is great! They take time with you to make sure you have what you like. They are extremely thorough on measuring, quoting and with their install. They are detail oriented and have a great eye for design and guide you as much or as little as you want. They are also, just great guys to work with. Fun to talk to and so kind. We will surely be hiring them again for the next phase of window treatments in our new home. Ps. Leo and Matt made the entire process of replacing the shades in my condo very convenient and easy. They came and measured; provided great suggestions on shades to select; provided a very and competitive fair quote; quickly placed the order and stayed in communication until today when they came with installers to install the shades in a very efficient and professional manner. After multiple local and less expensive quotes, I decided to go with Shadows. Mostly due to Leo and Mike's professionalism and explanation of product quality. Leo and Matt are absolute pros. I came to them needing a blackout shade for our bedroom, as the building next door was a bit bright at night. They were consultative and very efficient.
