Stylist extraordinaire, Natalie Butcher, has opened a darling little boutique salon of her own just off Second Street, across from her old salon, Delicious Hair ("D-Lish.") Decorated very much in the modern, sophisticated style of Natalie, you'll feel very much at home as soon as you step in the door, with the black and white checked flooring, brand new cabinetry and chic details like the chandeliers. I've been going to Natalie for years, and have never had a sub-par haircut. I get compliments all the time on her handiwork, and venture to say she's as good with long hair as she is with short (my preferred length) which is a huge talent. She has a legion of loyal clients (always a good sign) which means she's busy (also a good sign) but she'll always do her best to accommodate you as soon as she can. If you're looking for a great stylist in the Heights or the Shore and just haven't found it yet, I highly recommend giving Natalie a call. Since the salon has just opened, she's filling in the other stations with stylists over the coming weeks, so if you can't get in to see Natalie, you should be good to go with any of the other stylists Natalie would vouch for enough to have them in her salon. read more

Finding a hairstylist shouldn't be hard, but it is. I do have a hairstylist who lives in Northern California where I'm originally from but since I can't drive 4 hours every time I need a hair cut it was time to find a new hair stylist. So, I decided to venture out into the unknown, - and that is when I found Cindy. I was incredibly lucky to find a great stylist on the first try. I have coarse hair and I was supper fearful about her not knowing how to handle my hair --she instantly changed those negative thoughts. Cindy proved me wrong with her ability to listen to what is important to me; I was very impressed and felt instantly at home. She greats you with a smile and offers you something to drink--what's not to love. We would talk and make small changes to my hairstyle that I would be comfortable with. She so personable she even gave me her cell phone number and said to call her if I had questions or needed some teaching on easy styling techniques. I've since then recommended her to all of my friends and they love her too! This Salon is nestled in the heart of Belmont Shore; the salon is never over crowded and loud like the bigger salons. It's a great time to sit back and enjoy the much needed time you have on Cindy's chair. She has everything I look for in a good hair stylist - good listening skills, creative, artistic, professional and consistency with the right prices. read more

I recently followed my stylist Christina here and I love it! The location is great and Christina is a master. I let my friend try to make me blonde and it was a disaster. When I came to her seeking a color correction, she was very realistic about the situation and laid out a plan to get me as blonde as I wanted safely and beautifully. She also has killer bedside manner. She is so fun and sweet and even though I'm usually in her chair for hours, the time always flies. Oh & she taught me how to curl my hair! Super friendly atmosphere. I was a walk-in and I didn't have to wait very long. Nina was my hairdresser and she did a wonderful job with my hair. She has been doing her craft for 15 years and you can tell she knows what she's doing. Having a hair stylist that can understand what I want without having to ask too many questions is what I like, and Nina did a great job of that. I have never actually been to Shadow Box Salon but I wanted to Yelp the women that work at the Salon because of how incredibly nice and helpful they are, and just overall wanting to recognize what amazing human beings these women are! This morning - 8/1/17 @ 11:30am I was having the worst morning and received a parking ticket (from parking for 5 mins) right in front of their salon. It was a stupid mistake on my part and I was instantly sobbing, standing on the side of the street (in front of Shadow Box Salon) with my 18 month toddler in hand. The women who work at the Salon were instantly concerned and very supportive, but then .... to my heartfelt amazement ..... as I was just about to drive off (still sobbing) they ran over to my car window and insisted that they would pay for my parking ticket!!! HOW AMAZING ARE THEY?!?!?!?!?!? Seriously these women do not know me nor did they need to go out of their way to help me, but they did!
