The experience at my office has been nothing short of horrific. First off, when Stephen's installers came, one of them was extremely unprofessional. He was constantly gossiping about women and expressing his disdain for the company that employed him. As for Stephen, he returns calls and emails when he feels like it. We've had issues with our blinds that we ordered months and months ago, yet he doesn't seem the least bit concerned. He's always got some sort of excuse when it comes to not responding to correspondence. One day it's a surprise vacation, another day he doesn't check his email and or texts and I need to correspond using vice or versa. He promises he will show up to fix the errors, but yet never does. I regret choosing him and his organization to handle our blind needs. Avoid him and shades west! read more

Simply the BEST! A 4 month headache with 3 day Blinds was resolved in 4 hours! Customer service, 5 stars! Turn around time, 5 stars! Communication, 5 stars! Quality work, 5 stars! Honestly, they turned a really bad experience with a really bad company into a great experience with a really great company. They are now my go to company for blinds. Stephen was super responsive to my request on Yelp for his services based upon all the great reviews. He immediately came out to visit and provided a quote within the same day. Rick was the installer, make sure you request him! He was extremely meticulous and installed perfect shutters on our difficult bay window. We are super happy with the result of our shutters and will be calling Shades West back for our bedroom installation. read more

Do not go anywhere else!! Shades West Palm Beach and Stephen who runs it are amazing! I had 4 other shades vendors come to my house and the others were laughable. Either bad designers, inferior products, or double the price. Stephen came to the house twice to help with design and colors. Then I ran into an issue right before purchase and Stephen came out again to work it out, which we did. His installation team was also amazing. A bunch of professional, reasonable, capable, knowledgeable workers. The finished product blew me away. Super happy! Thank you, Stephen and the crew!! read more

I have been procrastinating on getting window shades because it seems like a big pain in the butt. Companies come out - measure the windows give you estimates you have to choose from all these materials wait a month then they come and install - its just a long process, but it needed to be done. I used yelp to ask for appointments to get quotes from 4 companies. Shades West responded back to me first, they responded to all my messages almost immediately and were the first ones out measuring my windows before 2 other companies even bothered to reply to me. I wasn't home, but my husband was - and the process was painless and easy. The quote came fast, I was able to pay the deposit online. Stephen and Jackson literally just left our house after taking less than an hour to install our new blackout shades, they were fast, professional and our dog who doesn't like most people actually liked them. They took away our old window coverings, cleaned up after themselves and really just did an excellent job. Honestly, the best service and super responsive. I don't even know if they cost more than others - and honestly would pay extra for this level of service - they UNDERSTAND 100% how to make customers happy. Highly recommend you use Shades West. read more

We called around shopping for a company that could get plantation shutters in a short time for our newly renovated condo. Steven, at Shades West, was recommended by another company that doesn't do plantation shutters. Steven responded promptly, and was extremely professional and knowledgeable. We were hoping to get these shutters (and a rolling blind) installed before we got to Florida. Every other company gave us a time frame of 8-12 weeks, minimum. Steven gave us suggestions, and facilitated a speedy delivery date of 2 weeks!! His prices are good, and his work is excellent. We would highly recommend him and Shades West for all your window treatments. read more

We ordered blinds and shades for our entire home and then left for our house up north for 6 months. We returned to perfectly matched, perfectly installed blinds. The entire process was perfect!! read more

EXCELLENT! Shades West provided quality product and great service by providing window coverings for my new home. Leah came to my home with a selection of samples and was helpful and patient helping me to select colors. The installer Jacob took his time and went above and beyond to be sure the finished work was expertly installed. The team at Shades West are totally honest people. So happy I called them! read more

I was looking for a vendor that could look at and repair my shutters track and wheel mechanism. Owner Stephen Gall came to my rescue. Other vendors would not even try to attempt to help me out Stephen made time from his busy schedule and came to the home to look at the problem. He immediately acted on it and actually made the necessary adjustments and fixed the issue on the spot Very pleased and thankful of the service I received I highly recommend them for any shutters and blind projects read more

This company is a total fraud. Stay away. They took our deposit on window treatments and disappeared. They do not call back

Stephen is a top notch guy. If I could give him 10 Stars I would. Our job wasn't easy- large windows in high up locations and the guy did an spectacular job. He did such a good job and we loved his product so much that we kept adding more and more rooms. There would be times where I would schedule to be home for half the day thinking surely the install would take hours but he always impressed me by the quickness at which he would install and program the units- he guy knows his stuff!! All this aside, and most importantly, the guy has respect and accountability. If he says he's going to do something he does it. A few times he literally would shoot right over minutes after UPS dropped off materials to install and finish my job before I left town for business with my hectic travel schedule. I've already recommended him to others and they have all been ecstatic! 10 star! Stephen is the MAN! read more

Shades West - Shades & Blinds Near Me

This was honestly the best company I have worked with since the new place. They are honest, attentive, professional, and ...fun to have around! Positive guys who are definitely all around people-pleasers. I met with about 10 different companies and this was the one company I chose to go with due to personality, straight forwardness, care, and attention to detail. These two make a GREAT duo. You will not be let down when you hire this company. Still, to this day they have been attentive & responsive to any questions I may of had regarding the new remote installations. And they look FANTASTIC!!!! I am so happy with the quality. On top of it all -- they were SUPER quick with the installations. They were able to install 8 shades faster than a guy tried putting a stationary bike together... nuts. You will not regret working with these guys... read more

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Stephen and Shades West. Within an hour or two of requesting a quote, Stephen texted me to set up a consultation, which he came and did himself a few days later. We were interested in roller shades throughout our condo, and a large panel setup for our sliding door. Stephen gave great recommendations on colors, fabrics, and brands and gave us a great price. After the materials all arrived about a week later, Stephen and one of his workers came and installed everything - we are so happy! Not only does Stephen have great vision for what will look good in your home, but he offers everything at a fair price and with a personal touch that is hard to put into words. If you're thinking of getting new blinds, look no further. Shades West is the best! read more

I met with about 6 other people to receive quotes on blinds. Stephen was, hands down, the most responsive, professional, and transparent. He communicated with me every step of the way and even offered a fairly decent discount because I had ordered so many blinds. I don't write reviews often but if you were like me and feeling overwhelmed with the millions of options that come with blinds, just go with Stephen and save yourself the time. read more

Shades West did the blinds in our kitchen as well as a power roller shade in our bathroom. Stephen did an incredible job matching the blinds in the kitchen to the wood in our home, and the power roller shade was his suggestion in our bathroom and it was the perfect choice. He stayed in contact with us and had great communication throughout the whole process, and he really went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. He really stands by his work and we are very happy with everything he did! read more

Just the Best to Work With! Thank you Shades West and Company for the excellent customer service and work performed at my home! Stephen was exceptionally courteous, punctual, and efficient in sharing information about the available blinds, prices, installation costs, and delivery time frames. After my new blinds were installed, they looked perfect, and I was assured that if I had any questions or problems that Stephen would be happy to address those issues. I was completely happy with my experience with Shades West. After Stephen left, I immediately started looking around my house for other blinds that needed to be replaced. I will definitely call Shades West again for any window covering needs! The very best to work with. Buy with confidence! You will not be disappointed. Kathy read more

Stephen was so kind and so friendly and fixed our blinds within minutes!! When I initially called, he was super quick to answer the phone and extremely courteous and helpful! Then we he came to our house to fix our blinds, I shared I was helping my mom out with them because my dad had passed away recently, and Stephen was so sweet when he was leaving -- super sincere and genuine and gave me a hug because of the loss of my dad. This is the kind of personal customer service we need more of -- someone who genuinely cares about the service they provide, but someone who is also kind and compassionate and truly cares about people (their customers) also. Any time I need blinds or window coverings, I'm going back to Shades West and Stephen. Not even a second thought! Highly recommend!!!! read more

What do you get when you put two deep accented New-Yorkers in Sunny SoCal selling and installing window coverings? You get the absolute best team duo in the entire west! Simply put, Stephen and Andrew were not only professional but 100% responsive and worked with us throughout the entire process. It was as easy as me posting a request for more information here on Yelp and Stephen, was not only the first to respond and communicate directly, but was out here measuring our windows that same day! My wife, friends and neighbors LOVE the window shades! Absolutely beautiful and worked with us on pricing. Stephen really seemed to care. I would recommend them to anyone that ask for window covering! Simply the best hands down. "Tell them "Frank" sent ya! How you doin- ah?" read more

I'm a nut when it comes to hiring anyone for things around my house. I literally call 10 places for estimates and to see how their service and quality compares to price. After needing new shades at my house, my girlfriend and I shopped around a bunch of businesses. Shades west came in the lowest by a few hundred plus they were using top of the line product. Naturally we went with them and I was really impressed with the service I received. They had all these books with samples which could be overwhelming but the owner Stephen was really informative and he helped us narrow it down to a few fabrics until we decided on one. I was really happy when they delivered and installed the shades 3 days before the day they said it would be, because we were kind of in a rush for a dinner party we were hosting. Overall: Great service, quality, and prices. Will definitely use them again. read more

I absolutely recommend Shades West. In addition to being knowledgeable about his trade Stephen was prompt, responsive, efficient, personable and very collaborative and helpful on design ideas. He was fair and honest in pricing and was able to accommodate my exceedingly tight time schedule. And his installer Jason was just as nice! I recommend you call Shades West without hesitation. :) read more

Stephen and everyone on his crew that I've come into contact are professional, kind, patient problem-solvers. We were actually looking at 3 other shades companies before we decided to go with Shades West. The following are reasons why we picked him and why we would recommend him. We were very specific on what we wanted. We did a lot of research. We were looking for shades that looked modern and offered total privacy, (including at night even when the inside light is turned on). We did not want a blackout. First of all, I had a good first impression with Stephen. He was nice and showed me the selection that he has. He had some samples sent to me. (Everyone sent us samples so that was not a determining factor.) He was nice and made me feel comfortable . In comparison, one designer/sales person was condescending as though I did not know what I was talking about. She had the material I wanted but because of that, she lost the sale. Second, Stephen offered more of a variety as far as what we were looking for. Third, we looked at reviews and overall, people seemed to have positive experience with him. Fourth, we especially like the fact that he was the owner, sales person and the installer all rolled into one. We have had experiences with other workers (for other improvements, not shades) wherein the sales person is different from the worker and was not present during the job. As a result, most of the times there is a lack of communication between the two, and there is no sense of ownership, thus making the workmanship subpar. As far as our experience goes, he measured the windows to give as estimates. Since we had a lot of windows and to make sure we were happy with what we got, he advised that we order just one. We ordered 2 shades and he came in to install. We loved them and decided to have more. He remeasured to make sure he got what we wanted. He came back multiple times throughout the process. In the entire process, he communicated and got back with me quickly. On the installation of the last two the shades, he was sent the wrong measurement and it was not until install that he found out. So he had to make an extra trip back from Orange County to LA to correct what they had sent. It is good that the manufacturer sent them right away. I am meticulous and he made sure we were pleased with what we got and followed up. He definitely took ownership and pride with his install. Because of the reasons stated above, we would use him again and recommend him. read more

We can't think Stephen enough for our beautiful blinds! His communication and knowledge was outstanding! I was able to describe something and the next thing I knew, he was showing me a sample of exactly what I had in mind. There was a minor delay in the roller shade, and he offered to drive to our home and put up temporary blinds - so accommodating and that solidified to us that we made the right choice going with Shades West. I will 100% be recommending Shades West to anyone who wants amazing blinds. :) read more

A+ SERVICE! We worked with Stephen for our San Clemente home and Billy for our Palm Springs home. BOTH turned out amazing. They were both extremely professional, on time and worked with us to ensure the perfect color, quality and design match. We did receive other quotes which were more expensive; however, due to the great reviews and excellent service we received from day one, we decided to go with Shades West. We could not be happier with our decision. In San Clemente, I worked directly with Stephen who, not only installed all of the shades perfectly, helped to ensure the automatic shade remote was set perfectly and works even on my phone! Follow up service on both homes has also been amazing! read more

Loved working with Shades West! Stephen was awesome and very good at communicating details with us at all times. There was a delay at the manufacturing facility but Stephen kept us informed and when all was said and done, we couldn't be happier with the shades. We ended up going with the dual motor setup with a shade and a blackout shade. The remote works great and it is definitely a wow factor every time we use them. Pricing is as you would expect for such an investment but Stephen was willing to work with us to get to our budget. We highly recommend Shades West! read more
