When the computer turned on, I got the all-so-horrible 'Blue Screen Of Death'!!! I didn't know what to do, so I called a friend of mine who also runs his own business. He referred me to CompuTechs, and they had a tech out to our house (house calls are FREE) in less than an hour, and our computer up and running shortly after that. We signed up for a service contract with them for our business machines (we have 3 of them), for $100 per month. That includes two hours of service - a little spendy but it keeps our computers fast, and if we have problems in the future they say we will be made the priority, so we will see.

My overall experience with CompuTechs+ was remarkably horrendous. The computer was given to them…read moreon 4/6/2011 and was not returned until 5/11/2011. The story of the repair goes as follows. I shattered the screen on my 2010 13" Macbook pro and contacted CompuTechs+ to have it repaired. They offered a flat rate of $229.99 for labor plus the cost for parts. The computer was given to them on 4/6/2011 and then returned to me on 4/12/2011. I decided to inspect the wiring job they did and upon inspection noticed that the wire connecting the screen to the motherboard was not long enough to be housed in the channel provided for it. Consequently it stuck out and caused the bottom plate to not close tightly. Furthermore the wire did not make a firm connection because it was too short and to adhere the wire to the connector, they had taped the wire to the motherboard. This means that if the tape came off, the screen would no longer work. Close inspection of the screen revealed that they had replaced my Macbook pro screen with a Macbook screen and which is possibly why the wire was too short. After realizing what a appalling repair CompuTechs+ had done, I emailed the owner and told him I would not be paying for the repair in totality until it was done properly. The next day they came out and picked up the computer and said it would likely be a few more days before I got it back. However a few more days was a major underestimate. During the month they had the computer the second time, I heard little from the company and had much difficulty in reaching them for updates on progress. When I did hear back from them, they were nonchalant about the fact that they had not received the proper part a second time and were still waiting on getting the correct screen. He mentioned that he "personally made sure that this issue (would) not happen again". This leads me to believe that they did not put forth much effort in making sure the correct part was ordered the first or second time. Given the amount of prodding I had to do in order to get an update, I think it is highly unlikely that they would have given me an update at all prior to delivery. After a month of waiting, I was finally given my computer back with the repair completed properly. The next day the owner sent me a final invoice for the full amount of the repair without any discount for negligence or incompetence. When I saw this, I sent an email to the owner explaining why this was unacceptable and that I should not have to pay for labor. His response was apologetic but his conclusion was that though it took 2 tries and 5 weeks to do the repair, it was returned fully functional and a $50 discount was the best he would do. Considering the length of the repair and the incompetence displayed by CompuTechs+, I vehemently suggest potential customers to seek repair elsewhere.

I knew…read morethat Craig did work with many companies, city offices and etc. When I contacted him, I told him that I had a number of old PC that I wanted to donate, but wanted all the data safely removed and stored back onto one or two computers. I wanted someone I could trust and who had the background to handle almost any need we had. Well, he made great suggestions and really helped us make the most of our previously purchased equipment. He even made a house call to make sure all the computers worked up to our expectations. We now have a newly "retooled" computer just for the kids and their schoolwork.

I have a new Lenovo Think Station that crashed. Lenovo came out…read moreand replaced the mother board, the crash corrupted the boot. I tried to get a new boot repair disc from Lenovo. But after many "I am sorry" and "thank you for your patience" I finally took it to Computer Fixx in Eden Prairie. John explained that they have several possible ways to get the files recovered and get the computer going again. After a day and a half, John called and said the computer was ready. They had checked the computer over completely. They found that Lenovo had put the incorrect mother board in and some of the other configurations were also incorrect. John and his team get a FIVE PLUS rating from me for both their honesty and speed in which they fixed the computer. As luck would have it, it fell off the couch and hit the hardwood floors hard. it stopped working properly. I took it to Computer Fixx in Eden Prairie and I couldn't be more happy with the results. John was amazing! Turns out my computer gave him a run for his money and he would fix one thing, and another would go wrong. He covered all additional fixes under warranty of the original, very reasonable, payment. He didn't give up until I had a fully functioning laptop. I couldn't recommend them more highly.
