They go by my place constantly and DO NOT pick up my trash with an account through them, i call and they say they will send another truck out to pick up my service and it sits there by the curb till next pick up date, no discounts no nothing on bill..just isnt right when the ben is over flowing looking like a mess for the neighborhood. Just a shame how the service is, they also leave stuff on the ground if they "miss" the truck as they are dumping the bins... So neighbors and myself obviously have to pick up the mess left behind. They are constantly violating the Noise Ordinance 'quiet hours' in town and come roaring thru our neighborhood at 5AM and this morning they blew a Hydraulic line and just left and didn't clean up the mess all over the street. Waste Management did this last fall and they had a clean-up crew in the neighborhood within the hour and cleaned it the best it could be. The driver was very rude! read more

Shackelford Customer service is not available after 5pm weekdays, they keep banking hours. there is no app, no way to pay bill online. our township switched the contract from waste management who was much great and cheaper. waste management I was able to pay my bill 24/7 on website or their App or by auto pay. Waste Management any issues someone was in the office Nationally or by click on their website for self help. read more

We signed up for service at the beginning of August and we got picked up the first week and they've missed the following two weeks. Certainly not what it used to be!!! It's a holiday weekend and they're not answering their phone and they will ignore it all weekend and it's a holiday weekend. Where am I going to put my trash My tote is full and with it being a long weekend I'm going to have a couple bags of trash. Morse part about it is is that I've looked on my door back camera both Fridays and there went their truck driving by between 5:00 and 6:00 in the morning. So they drove right by my house and didn't bother to stop and pick up my trash. So, whoever picks up on my route cannot lie and say that my trash wasn't out because it was sitting right there exactly in the same spot two weeks in a row and they drove right by! I had these guys years ago when I lived in Newark and then I moved out of town and when I came back there was no question who I was going to get service with because they were great! This company is absolutely horrible! First they completely destroyed our personal tote/dumpster, but then the last time they picked up our trash, they STOLE our tote/dumpster. I have this on video even and they refuse to take responsibility for this and they refuse to replace our PERSONAL tote/dumpster. Our personal tote/dumpster wasn't one through their company. It was one we purchased on our own outside of this company. They have no respect for personal property of their customers! read more

Frustrating. When we started our service I had to drive to the business to pick up bins because no one was available to deliver them and no one could tell when they might be delivered, even though I was charged for them. A year later the recycling keeps getting missed and every phone call is the same story but no resolution. Once the recycling is missed it somehow falls off the route for weeks. The supposed "credits" to my account never materialize, but more importantly, the recycling seems to be forgotten altogether. Somehow their drivers get away with telling management that the bins aren't out, I can assure you, we have no problem putting our bins out the afternoon before pick up. This is not rocket science, just incompetent business practices. I'm done trying to support this comapny, switched to Waste Away. read more

We have been using Shackleford's for years. We have only had a few pickup issues during COVID when they were short drivers. The workers always place the cans back on the curb. Not like other services that throw the cans back in the yard. If it is raining, they turn the cans over so they do not get filled with water. Holidays Closed As they observe the following holidays, please keep in mind they will be closed on the actual day the holiday takes place. When this occurs, they will run ONE DAY LATE. Therefore, if your trash day falls on the actual holiday or the day after, your regular pickup will be pushed back one day. I never post reviews but when I saw they only have one, one star review.. I have to. My husband and I bought our home and started our service 4yrs ago with ShackleFord have NEVER had an issue. We have probably (more than once) sat out things without calling ahead due to us being a large family with very busy schedules, we're human and we forget. The employees that take care of our route have always taken everything, and have been so polite and welcoming. I have younger children, they were 2 and 4 when we moved here and the "trash man" was their favorite person. They've always taken just a few seconds extra of their time to wave and honk for the kids, accept bottled waters, etc. If we could give ShackleFord a higher rating than 5 stars, we most certainly would. We adore them and will forever be committed to their service. read more

We switched trash services so we could also have curbside recycle pickup and Shackleford's are the only company to offer that. I did so on October 16th of this year. I was told first hand it could take up to 7-14 business days to receive our trash and recycle bins and paid $35 up front with my bank card over the phone to get services started. Understandable and I agreed to this. While we received our trash bin on November 7th, (16 days), we did not receive our recycle bin until November 20th, (25 days) and I had to call to find out why. So a month passed, they picked up trash once, and recycle not at all. Now we have the recycle bin, and after 3 or 4 more phone calls to the company later, they still have yet to empty it and it is December 11th, a Wednesday, my scheduled pickup day. The garbage went, but the recycle remains from 3 weeks ago. On top of all this, we had an old couch love seat to throw out and I called yesterday, a day before as required to schedule this, plus an extra $5 fee. I return home today from the grocery to find the love seat still sitting, but they had emptied the trash...and yes, the recycle truck hadn't made it to pick up that same recycle, either. A phone call was made as soon as I unloaded my car to let the employee know. She is the same lady I've talked to a few times already and informed me the route manager, as well as the owner, had been informed of the problem. She has done her part. It's the people out on the routes who aren't getting the job done. As new customers, we are extremely dis-satisfied with Shackleford's lack of services, and if the problem is not remedied, I will cancel and go back to hauling my own recycle to the free bins and return to our former trash service, who I had zero issues with for over 4 years. read more
