Their lunch special is 30$ but they have a special promotion where they are offering some special Japanese Wagyu meats for free. Max 2 plates for special meats for free. With the lunch special, they will give you a grill on top because of the special promotion. Meats are very fresh and very tender. Service is very good, they are very attentive to you and will make sure you get the optimal experience. The restaurant decoration looks simple but that is all you need. They do offer some appetizers/veggies as well if you need any non meat items.

Best premium wagyu cuts you will ever get in Orange County! Plus they have an option to grill different cuts of delicious meats that literally melt in your mouth! They get super creative and even have pineapple with cinnamon to put on your grill. I definitely recommend the makchang if you are a gopchang/daechang lover! They have super unique broths for the hot pot, and i definitely recommend to get the curry or mala broth! Plus they have an ingredient/sauce bar where you can get amazing seafood! Speaking of seafood, YOU MUST GET THE SUSHI! WOWOWOW! AMAZING!! But above all the service is definitely what makes this eating experience the best!! they have such incredible staff and the owner is the kindest man ever!

Great restaurant! All the charm of the old spot that was here with more options and more value for what you pay. The classic included just Shabu for a decent price-- about what you're used to paying around North Irvine. We didn't try the grill this time. I got the Tonkatsu broth, which was just the perfect amount of salty. We got a lot of Wagyu Short cut which was both tender and fatty. They have a bar where you can get salad, sides, and vegetables for your broth, as well as make your own dipping sauce. My only suggestion would be to add sugar, salt, pepper and pickled ginger and more options for mushrooms. Everything looked clean and fresh. We are not seafood eaters so cannot speak for the taste of the seafood. All in all, we had a nice lovely dinner. I would definitely come here again.

Great service, seems going to be another family favorite . The A5 wagyu was sliced thin but the kids loved to cook their own meat

Loved this place! We were sad when it was closed for a little bit because we always went here. There was a bit of a change to the menu but flavor is still good and staff is super friendly and was playing with our baby while we ate! Great place for families!

This is a new place near my house. I like it because I can eat both shabu and barbecue at lunch special. Most of all, the meat is the best quality and delicious. I also ordered many side dishes, especially barbecue pork rip and shrimp tempura. The server(a young man) was so nice, and the owner explained the meat kindly. I would like to go there with my family again.

I have to say it was quite a surprise to find out that it has become an all you can spot now. The sweet server told us all about how the ordering menu looks like (you order from an iPad) only 10 items at a time and then once you place your order you have to wait a few minutes to order again. They guide you and prep the grill so you can cook your meat. We tried basically one of everything. I loved most of the meats, some I could do without. Overall the restaurant is pretty spacious. Decoration is nice and I just loved how excited and enthusiastic all the workers were to serve you and give you all the information you needed about what you ordered. I guess they even offer a membership so if you go eat at other Chubby meat locations you get discounts over time. I look forward to coming back again, since they seemed a bit frazzled trying to get all the orders in. But I love the hustle!

You can order a la carte or if you have an even number of guests, you can order from the combos (good for 2 people to share). We ordered the Ran Combo and it was plenty of food for 2 people. I think some of the negative comments about Frank's BBQ come from different expectations of what…read moretraditional Chinese barbecue should be. In Chinese cuisine, some barbecue meats and cold dishes are prepared in advance and may be served at room temperature or reheated before serving. Using a microwave does not automatically mean the food is low quality or not fresh. It can simply be part of the serving process. Chicken and duck are also commonly chopped and served with the bones still inside. This is a very traditional way of preparing and serving these meats, although customers who are unfamiliar with this style may find it inconvenient. The food here tastes authentic, and in my opinion, Frank's BBQ is one of the best traditional Chinese barbecue restaurants in Orange County. It may not match everyone's personal preferences, but I think it is important to understand the culture and preparation style before unfairly criticizing the restaurant or calling the food bad.

One thing I found odd is when we ordered the sweet and sour soup, they asked if we wanted them to microwave it in the plastic takeout container so it would stay warm for the drive home. For the sides the portion sizes were good. The onion rings were large and crispy. The baked beans were good with a rich flavor. Didn't really care for the Mac and Cheese. It had a lot of cheese, but was lacking in creaminess. Toast was like a regular toast. Ambiance is casual with an alright amount of seating.

It was a hot evening and we were the ONLY ones that wanted to sit outdoor because we had our puppy. It took quite a while for the hostess to get the "ok" for us to sit outdoor and then for anyone to come see us once we were seated at the patio but the Manager finally did arrive and made sure to take care of us quickly after that. Our server also joined a couple of minutes later bringing cold ice water for us and the doggie - thank you! Both working together to help was so appreciated. The issue was the nachos, we always get the happy hour nachos and this time they were soooo dry! Lots of fresh chips but they didn't add the creamy cheese sauce that's usually on them and not much cheese at all. I asked the Manager and he offered to bring us some sauce to add. Well that took way too long and the nachos were cold by then so we just sent them back. Thanks for the effort though, just took too long. We still love it here - the biscuits were super fresh and the nashville nuggets excellent!

It was crunchy and great flavor, I loved it and it was even better with the gravy. The mashed potatoes had no flavor at all though, so I was disappointed. My boyfriend ordered the pulled pork sandwich, we both loved it - as good as we remember. The Mac and cheese was also meh. It had little to no flavor. We were sad that the sides weren't good but glad the entree was! My meal came with a dessert, and we got the original beignets - they were delicious. As for the biscuits and the incredible apple butter - delicious as always! They only bring you 1 per person at a time, but we were able to get more. We also tried the watermelon splash which had great flavor. Overall, the food is still good (minus the sides) and we might return. I

Bummer for them is, had they just stood by there proposal and agreement they could've had 4 apartment communities and their business for events. Bad to the Bone BBQ is actually Great to the Bone!!…read more Came here on 4th of July for one of their holiday feasts. It was a huge box filled with delicious bbq for the whole family! It came with 2lbs of brisket, 2 racks of ribs, 1lb of sausage, 24 pieces of bbq chicken, coleslaw, cornbread, mac n cheese, homemade potato chips, a peach cobbler, and a gallon of lemonade! The brisket was perfectly cooked with a nice smokey flavor and quite juicy. The house sausage was great, I could eat it every day. The chicken was so good with just a bit of char for that nice grilled taste. The ribs were amazing! They fell off the bone and had a perfect bite to them. Their bbq sauce is really good too, not too sweet yet smokey. Coleslaw was good and fresh. The mac n cheese was gooey and so cheesy. The chips were actually really nice, crispy, and salty. The cornbread was delicious especially with their whipped honey butter on top. For dessert I couldn't ask for a better bite than from the peach cobbler with their homemade whipped cream on top. The staff were all so nice when I went to pick up my order. Even though they were swamped for the holiday they were calm and did everything with a smile. There were 2 dining rooms that I saw so it looks like a ton of space. There's also a whole display where you can grab some bbq sauce or hot sauce to buy. Thanks Bad to the Bone for making our America 250 Independence Day so special!
