We were told that traditional Danish food is boring, so as we walked around the city, we studied…read morethe menus at just about every restaurant and cafe we passed ~ and there are many. While enjoying an adult beverage, we asked our very friendly bartender for a recommendation and he suggested this restaurant. So we walked over, reviewed the menu a second time and decided to give it a try. Being from Chicago, we are picky about our Italian food. We were not disappointed. We would have loved to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful evening, but Europe has not gotten the message about smoking not being good for you. They sit at restaurants and smoke like chimneys. We sat indoors to avoid the smoke and it was fine.
They bring you a basket of bread ~ delicious ~ we had a salad and stuffed ravioli. While dining, I noticed a woman outside eating a very delicious looking dish with a creamy sauce, not a red sauce. However, this was some of the best ravioli we had ever eaten. We enjoyed our dinner so much, we returned 2 nights later with friends. They, too, were shocked at the high level of delicious Italian food in Copenhagen. The second night I did order the pasta with a creamy mushroom sauce and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Yeah, I read the negative reviews. With doors and windows open wouldn't you expect bugs to be flying about? We had no issues with friendliness and service. Even the restaurants in America start to clean and close down as tables are vacated, what's the big deal with that?
