I wish I could leave a zero star review. We asked for water and it never came. When we received our water, we were not given enough glasses for our party. We then asked for an extra glass and it never came. I proceeded to drink from the water pitcher for the rest of our LONG evening. We then asked for a Moscow Mule and it never came. When we asked our waiter (the same one who took our order), we were then told they don't have Moscow mules. We asked for a menu to order a new drink and you won't believe what happened: it never came. We ordered two pizzas and only one came. When we could finally flagged down a waiter it was another 20 mins until the forgotten one came. Horrible service, even worse pizza. Furthermore, no one ever apologized for the problems or asked how we were doing or needed anything. Everyone was rude and very unhelpful. And on top of all of that it was cramped and uncomfortable throughout the entire restaurant and we could not even get through to the bathroom. I came here for dinner one of my nights in Copenhagen. The ambiance was really nice. I loved all the dim lighting with candles. Salami Pizza: 8.5/10 It took awhile to get seated but our food came out super quickly. My friend and I both got pizza. I got the pizza with salami. The dough itself was delicious. It was extremely light and fluffy! I loved it, and I normally have a hard time just eating the crust. The salami itself was fine and the crème on top was also okay, but overall it was very enjoyable. Tiramisu: 9/10 We also got the tiramisu for dessert. I highly recommend it! It was small, so I would get one for yourself. Service and kitchen can get slightly backed up, but on a very busy Monday when I was there, everything was handled fine and got things timely. Everything is super fresh and made to order / from scratch. Got the sausage pizza which was awesome and had a spicy kick to the meat. Right in the meat-packing district, Mother knows how to do pizza. Ended up sitting outside on a hot day because the inside was even worse with no A/C. Service isn't great, and you'll find yourself standing up and walking to the server to get anything. Food takes a long time to get to you, but I have to say, the pizza is really good. Had heard great things so thought I would check it out. We showed up and they said it would be about a 20 min wait on a Friday around 7. We did not get seated for about 45 mins. They have a bar you can sit at but it was really hot. The beer was great though, they make their own there. Once we sat it took about 10 mins to order and receive food- very quick! Great pizzas, good beers, very reasonable in prices for Copenhagen. -Bruschetta: we ordered 3 and it was the server couldn't tell us what we'll get because they change the bruschetta toppings every time. We got one with baby tomatoes, one with a tuna like topping, and another with a hummus like topping. The pizza hits the spot on a cold, windy night (aka most nights in Copenhagen), but not worth the significant wait time when there are cheaper and better pizza options sprawled across all of CPH. Wait time: there was a 45min wait time, which is acceptable since we were walk-ins. But, given that the bar is usually jam packed, we had to wait outside on a cold, windy night, which sucked. A lot. There isn't much else to do in the surrounding areas at night (meatpacking district), so we literally chilled outside. Food: the pizzas are decently sized. For an average person, they can finish about 75% of the pizza alone, if not all of it, so it's tough to share unless you pregame before. It's also incredibly thin, to the point where if you lift it by the crust, the rest of the pizza is already falling apart. It wasn't anything too special (especially after the wait time and comparing prices to corner pizza joints), so you pay for the ambience. Ambience: dimly lit, candles on every table and replaced religiously, blankets if you're cold... it's hygge in a nutshell. Oh heavenly mother! The best brunch you can find in Cph! I should give 4 stars because of the busyness of the waiters and the whole place, but the food is too good to lower my rating! I mean when an Italian says a pizza is good, then it just is! And all my Italian friends eat here all the time. I have been here numerous times for the brunch. Never for a dinner so I don't know how busy they are at the time but it is hard to get a table for brunch. So come with patience. Also because of the high amount of people coming and going the poor waiters are running like maniacs so it is a bit hard to reach to them. But it's ok! The food is good, just sit down and enjoy! And they are despite all friendly. The brunch includes freshly baked pizza coming out of the oven every 5 mins. So you should be keeping your eyes open for the new pizza when you sit there. Apart from the pizza (which is DELICIOUS) they have several kind of salads with pasta, lentils, veggies, you can find it all. They also make some other dishes like potatoes with ham. There is a cheese plate where you can cut a piece of cheese from 3-4 different kinds. I don't really eat cheese but my friends say they are amazing. You also get dessert. It's usually fruits, yoghurt, musli, jams, nutella and freshly baked muffins. And for drinks you can just pour as much of juice you want from 2-3 kinds. The interior is quite plain. Highly overrated. I had heard plenty of things about this place so my curiosity drove me to Mother. But meh... I wasn't at all impressed. I know it's a fine deal in restaurants to advise their customers that we have only 90 minutes at our table, but the dining experience was slightly traumatised by the fact that I had to keep looking at my watch because I was worried that we are running out of time. The waiter promised to deliver our food asap and it did arrive soon but the pizza dough was burned from outside and totally wet from inside - like a chewing gum. We ordered one vegetarian pizza with seasonal vegetables (the taste pallete wasn't very matching) and another one with mascapone cheese -it was delicious but only had a sliiiight drip of mascapone on it. Even though most of tables were free when we arrived (I understand that others might be booked for any time soon) we were sat by a table only 10 cm appart from another table and that wasn't very pleasant either as we could hear each others conversations. This place was on my list of "must try's" while in Copenhagen thanks to some prior research on yelp. Mamas is conveniently located in the old meat packing district and is very easy to navigate to from the metro and/or bus. We were staying in Frederiksberg and it was only a 15 minute trek. We were here celebrating my older brothers wedding (pre-celebration) and it was the perfect location. We dined on a Sunday evening and it was completely packed so we started outside for appetizers and a few drinks. We started with ordered s few anti-pasta plates that included salami, marinated veggies, and prosciutto. We also had what I would call a garlic bread pizza. All were phenomenal. For our main dish we ordered about 10 different pizzas. I think I had almost all of them and can honestly say they were all fantastic. Thin crust pizza either drizzled with olive oil or pizza sauce before being topped with salami, tomatoes, proscuitto, mozzarella, basil, or leafy greens. The pizzas were amazingly light but packed with flavor. A must try for any pizza lover out there or anyone looking for a good meal. The wine selection is also pretty good with most coming from Italy. I'm not sure there are many people in Copenhagen that will argue with me that Mother serves, by a landslide, the best pizza in Copenhagen. The crust is made of naturally fermented sourdough bread, cooked in a wood fired oven, and the ingredients on top are fresh, and not too excessive, nor too minimalist. Pricing is fair for restaurant prices (cheap if you go for the margherita). Worth mentioning, and the reason behind which I have removed a star, is that I have yet to have a flawless service experience, and I've been here quite a few times. There seems to be a pretty big turn-over in the staff, and I get the impression that people don't really communicate well behind the counter. Orders often get mixed up or forgotten, I've been charged for something I didn't order twice, and a couple times I've waited more than an hour to get my order. The good news is, the owner of the restaurant is pretty much ALWAYS there, and if you say something, he usually makes up for it somehow. When they're busy it's a bit harder to get this to happen, but I guess it's a redeeming quality. Pro-tip: don't come here if you're starving on the off chance you won't eat immediately. But do come with a healthy appetite, because once you do get your food, you will not be disappointed. Let's tan and eat pizza!). We ordered a margherita pizza with baby mozzarella. And iced coffees. The pizza was great; sourdough and thin but crispy and doughy in just the right places. Toppings were minimal (as intended) and fresh and good quality. Particularly welcome was the cost: totally reasonable for a cool place in Copenhagen. However (here's the "but...")...the service isn't great. We asked for water three times and not only never got it, but got attitude for re-asking. One server brought the wrong order to our table. Things generally were slow. The neighbouring table just sat there for 15 minutes until a server approached them and told them that they "HAD TO" order inside first (why didn't anyone tell them this was protocol and/or have signage to that effect?). Perhaps most annoying is that a business meeting was happening nearby and they were treated like VIPs: food came quickly and they got refills on the carafes of water that we had asked several times for. It can get crowded, so if you're looking to avoid the lines I recommend going for lunch. I've had salad and pizza - both of which are great. The salad is on the lighter side, so I wouldn't order it as a main entree if you're hungry. As for pizza, I've had the prosciutto pizza and the salamina - both awesome but I prefer the prosciutto. Keep in mind the crust is thin and can get a bit soggy. I really like it this way, but my boyfriend isn't as big of a fan. I've also been eyeing their panini's served only at lunch. It was a short walk from our hotel (Savoy) and found it with no problems - there was a small crowd outside the entry door and a small line of people waiting to get seated. I was so hungry and that pizza smelled sooooo good when that door opened! We waited for about 15 minutes and were seated. The restaurant is pretty small and tables are fairly close together - but it's a happening place late night for sure. Every table was full and groups of people were waiting for a table. GREAT pizza but definitely not a huge bargain. We went to Mother on a Saturday night, so a huge line of around ~20 people had already formed. The host was really funny and joked around with the customers so the wait didn't seem terrible and it was surprisingly fast as it was only 15 minutes. We ordered 3 different pizzas for the 5 of us, which definitely was not enough! The pizzas were delicious though. If you're a fan of thin crust pizzas, you'll love Mother. The other part was just that the dough was perfect. We got a margherita pizza and it was my first time trying this type of pizza. It basically just had mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil. I thought it was really great but my elitist New York friends called it "average". The other pizzas we got were a prosciutto pizza and another pizza that had both potatoes and prosciutto on it. Both of these pizzas were amazing and were even validated by the New York pizza connoisseurs. We also got a great drink called Aperol Spritz, which is a big hit amongst the locals. The drink had a little bit of soda, Prosecco, Aperol, and it was topped with an orange. It was awesome and they made it pretty strong if that is what you're looking for! The service here wasn't bad, but it could've been better. The place was crowded, so slow service is understandable, but slow service is still inconvenient nonetheless. The other slight negative about Mother is the prices compared to the portion sizes. If you're hungry, I would definitely recommend getting at least a whole pizza to yourself and even that may not be enough. Splitting 3 pizzas among 5 pizzas is for sure not enough and we actually got a little more to eat after because we were still hungry. Prices were pretty high, each pizza was around 135 Kroner ($17) and the Aperol Spritz's were 65 Kroner (~$10), which wasn't too bad, but I thought the pizzas were kinda small. We had one with salmon, zucchini, and chives, and another with ground sausage and pepperoni. The crust was crispy on the edges and soft in the middle. Also had some varietal bruschetta with an olive tepinade. After a glass of wine and the pizzas we were good to go. Near the middle of our meal, another couple was seated at the end of our table. They were locals and came to Mother often. They told us to be sure and order the tiramisu and a dessert that is a scoop of vanilla ice cream placed in a cup of espresso. When I made my smart-ass comment: "i'm not used to restaurants bringing open bottles", i got the excuse: "we're an Italian restaurant". I get it, but she obviously didn't. The pizza itself was SUPER cheesy and despite wanting that to be a good thing, it made the pizza taste rubbery and masked what could have been a tasty pizza dough. Despite the shitty service, the manager comes to the table, pretends to be our friend, and asks us for a review without having the slightest clue about how things actually went. FAIL. Horrible service by any standard We arrived four people without reservations on a sunny Sunday evening. A sign outside stated a waiting time of 35 minutes for pizza, which we agreed was okay. It took the host around 15 minutes to greet us, but then he had us seated within a minute or two. Server arrived, and we ordered drinks and starters. Drinks and starters arrived and we ordered our mains after a few minutes. So far so good. I went to check on parking restrictions. I took a picture of the parking sign and returned and immediately ordered a beer. Picture was timestamped 18:55. 18 minutes later I asked if the beer was coming, and was assured it would. The beer finally arrived at 19:25 - a full 30 minutes after it was ordered the first time. I told the server that it had taken 30 minutes to bring a beer, and that I expected the beer to be comped (free). She informed the host/manager, who came down and said that he was told a beer had taken a long time to arrive. I said yes. He then offered to take the beer away. No apology. No nothing. I told him I think it would be more fair for me to keep the beer, and that he could remove it from the check. He flatly denied. At this point I asked him to cancel my order and proceeded to leave, which I could see made him mad, but he did not fight it. I will not come back to this place. Waiting 30 minutes for a beer after asking twice is ridiculous. read more

It takes a lot for me to give a bad review, but in this time I need to. The atmosphere was lively, and it's basically a pizza place with some very good authentic flavors. The service was a disaster. We ordered one appetizer and 2 pizzas. The wrong appetizer arrived and the waitress was aggressive and argued with us that we got what we ordered and then basically ignored us the rest of our meal. After our meal came, we sat with glasses and plates empty for several minutes we started to get up and leave and go ask for our check, then our check came. Very disappointed, they completely left the "customer" out of the service. read more
