I wish I could leave a zero star review. We asked for water and it never came. When we received our water, we were not given enough glasses for our party. We then asked for an extra glass and it never came. I proceeded to drink from the water pitcher for the rest of our LONG evening. We then asked for a Moscow Mule and it never came. When we asked our waiter (the same one who took our order), we were then told they don't have Moscow mules. We asked for a menu to order a new drink and you won't believe what happened: it never came. We ordered two pizzas and only one came. When we could finally flagged down a waiter it was another 20 mins until the forgotten one came. Horrible service, even worse pizza. Furthermore, no one ever apologized for the problems or asked how we were doing or needed anything. Everyone was rude and very unhelpful. And on top of all of that it was cramped and uncomfortable throughout the entire restaurant and we could not even get through to the bathroom. Finally a napkin from the previous party caught on fire and there were ashes and the napkin all over the table the entire night (see photo)
*** 400th Review *** Great Napolitano pizza in the meat packing district. Put your name down, go wait in the wee bar, and they will call your name (wait times are somewhat exaggerated, so fear not). Service and kitchen can get slightly backed up, but on a very busy Monday when I was there, everything was handled fine and got things timely. Everything is super fresh and made to order / from scratch. Got the sausage pizza which was awesome and had a spicy kick to the meat. Get your own pizza if you're VERY hungry, otherwise appetizers and pizza was good to me. Also Fridays they have a mini HH buffet in the 'mini' bar which includes one drink of your choice for like $15. The bar cocktails are well made and worth ordering. Overall prices are very fair for one of the best pizzas around, straight from the authentic wood burning stove.
Right in the meat-packing district, Mother knows how to do pizza. Ended up sitting outside on a hot day because the inside was even worse with no A/C. Service isn't great, and you'll find yourself standing up and walking to the server to get anything. Food takes a long time to get to you, but I have to say, the pizza is really good. The sandwich I got was pretty good as well. Be ready to wait and be frustrated by the service, but the food itself carries this place to 4 stars for me.
A highly recommended pizza restaurant. The dough is really important, and their dough was an amazing base. Pizzas are a nice size... just good enough for a personal pizza for a meal. We had one pizza with mozzarella, tomato sauce, arugula, prosciutto, and a bit of pesto. The other was mozzarella, speck, potato, and fried onion. The second, being a little more heavy with toppings was eaten with a fork and knife. Both were so great though.
Had heard great things so thought I would check it out. We showed up and they said it would be about a 20 min wait on a Friday around 7. We did not get seated for about 45 mins. They have a bar you can sit at but it was really hot. The beer was great though, they make their own there. Once we sat it took about 10 mins to order and receive food- very quick! For water and two pizzas (at the cheaper side of things), it was about $32. Split this for 3 people. Great price just long wait!
Great pizzas, good beers, very reasonable in prices for Copenhagen. -Bruschetta: we ordered 3 and it was the server couldn't tell us what we'll get because they change the bruschetta toppings every time. We got one with baby tomatoes, one with a tuna like topping, and another with a hummus like topping. It was pretty good, very fresh, although we didn't have the option of picking which one we wanted more. -Prosciutto pizza: The prosciutto was scrunched in the middle, so you have to spread it on the pizza. The arugula was a bit weird for the pizza and didn't bring any flavor to it, it kinda took away flavor, but it was still a good pizza -Pepperoni pizza: the pepperoni was a spicy pepperoni and it wasn't like anything I ever tried. It was good, I say you must try the pepperoni pizza! We couldn't get a table inside, but there were plenty of tables outside (kinda cold though-but they provided blankets)
The pizza hits the spot on a cold, windy night (aka most nights in Copenhagen), but not worth the significant wait time when there are cheaper and better pizza options sprawled across all of CPH. Wait time: there was a 45min wait time, which is acceptable since we were walk-ins. But, given that the bar is usually jam packed, we had to wait outside on a cold, windy night, which sucked. A lot. There isn't much else to do in the surrounding areas at night (meatpacking district), so we literally chilled outside. Food: the pizzas are decently sized. For an average person, they can finish about 75% of the pizza alone, if not all of it, so it's tough to share unless you pregame before. It's also incredibly thin, to the point where if you lift it by the crust, the rest of the pizza is already falling apart. It wasn't anything too special (especially after the wait time and comparing prices to corner pizza joints), so you pay for the ambience. Ambience: dimly lit, candles on every table and replaced religiously, blankets if you're cold... it's hygge in a nutshell. It's a lovely place to hang out or go for a date, but if you're only here for the food, look elsewhere. The pizza from my corner joint was more filling, cheaper, and quicker to get.
SUCH GOOD SOURDOUGH PIZZA!!! If anyone is ever in Copenhagen and fancies a pizza, definitely check Mother out! We arrived and it was extremely busy and were told that for a table of three we would have to wait 45 mins, however we were sat at a table in about 10 minutes. I ordered the Prosciutto - tomato, mozzarella, prosciulto di Norcia, rucola, pesto and it was delicious. The cheese was melted to perfection, they were not stingy on the prosciutto and the pizza was just a delight to eat!
Oh heavenly mother! The best brunch you can find in Cph! I should give 4 stars because of the busyness of the waiters and the whole place, but the food is too good to lower my rating! I mean when an Italian says a pizza is good, then it just is! And all my Italian friends eat here all the time. I have been here numerous times for the brunch. Never for a dinner so I don't know how busy they are at the time but it is hard to get a table for brunch. So come with patience. Also because of the high amount of people coming and going the poor waiters are running like maniacs so it is a bit hard to reach to them. But it's ok! The food is good, just sit down and enjoy! And they are despite all friendly. The brunch includes freshly baked pizza coming out of the oven every 5 mins. So you should be keeping your eyes open for the new pizza when you sit there. Apart from the pizza (which is DELICIOUS) they have several kind of salads with pasta, lentils, veggies, you can find it all. They also make some other dishes like potatoes with ham. There is a cheese plate where you can cut a piece of cheese from 3-4 different kinds. I don't really eat cheese but my friends say they are amazing. You also get dessert. It's usually fruits, yoghurt, musli, jams, nutella and freshly baked muffins. And for drinks you can just pour as much of juice you want from 2-3 kinds. The interior is quite plain. They use a lot of wood and they have these awesome red lamps made from bottles on top of the kitchen. Outdoors there is plenty of seating for the warm days. Really worth trying! It is a bit expensive, can't really remember right now how much (maybe 145dkk), but it is worth it. At least for once!!!!
Pizza was good...I'll give them that. But sitting for 40mins waiting to get a menu and then waiting another 20mins before getting noticed to order (watching others get service) doesn't deserve a good rating regardless of how good the food. Perhaps because I sat alone at one of the large picnic tables it was hard to notice me. But a customer eating solo is no excuse. I should mention before I got a menu, I was asked by a couple to join me at the table. Of course!...I'm taking up this while table unnecessarily. The received a menu within mins of siting down...they had to point me out to waiter. He returned and took their order and then have me their menu. And then I waited 20mins to order. I would have ordered more than pizza, as I was hungry, but I didn't have all night. I just wanted to leave.
This place was on my list of "must try's" while in Copenhagen thanks to some prior research on yelp. Mamas is conveniently located in the old meat packing district and is very easy to navigate to from the metro and/or bus. We were staying in Frederiksberg and it was only a 15 minute trek. We were here celebrating my older brothers wedding (pre-celebration) and it was the perfect location. We dined on a Sunday evening and it was completely packed so we started outside for appetizers and a few drinks. We started with ordered s few anti-pasta plates that included salami, marinated veggies, and prosciutto. We also had what I would call a garlic bread pizza. All were phenomenal. For our main dish we ordered about 10 different pizzas. I think I had almost all of them and can honestly say they were all fantastic. Thin crust pizza either drizzled with olive oil or pizza sauce before being topped with salami, tomatoes, proscuitto, mozzarella, basil, or leafy greens. The pizzas were amazingly light but packed with flavor. A must try for any pizza lover out there or anyone looking for a good meal. The wine selection is also pretty good with most coming from Italy. I'm getting hungry again just writing about it!
Highly overrated. I had heard plenty of things about this place so my curiosity drove me to Mother. But meh... I wasn't at all impressed. I know it's a fine deal in restaurants to advise their customers that we have only 90 minutes at our table, but the dining experience was slightly traumatised by the fact that I had to keep looking at my watch because I was worried that we are running out of time. The waiter promised to deliver our food asap and it did arrive soon but the pizza dough was burned from outside and totally wet from inside - like a chewing gum. We ordered one vegetarian pizza with seasonal vegetables (the taste pallete wasn't very matching) and another one with mascapone cheese -it was delicious but only had a sliiiight drip of mascapone on it. Even though most of tables were free when we arrived (I understand that others might be booked for any time soon) we were sat by a table only 10 cm appart from another table and that wasn't very pleasant either as we could hear each others conversations. I don't know... Somehow I was hoping for a bit more for the price they charge for pizzas and the recognition they have gained in Copenhagen.
I came here for dinner one of my nights in Copenhagen. The ambiance was really nice. I loved all the dim lighting with candles. Salami Pizza: 8.5/10 It took awhile to get seated but our food came out super quickly. My friend and I both got pizza. I got the pizza with salami. The dough itself was delicious. It was extremely light and fluffy! I loved it, and I normally have a hard time just eating the crust. The salami itself was fine and the crème on top was also okay, but overall it was very enjoyable. Tiramisu: 9/10 We also got the tiramisu for dessert. I highly recommend it! It was small, so I would get one for yourself. I loved the mascarpone cream and it had cake versus ladyfingers, which I personally like a lot. read more

Service was fast and efficient. Food was standard, prepared fresh and presented nicely. The place was packed when we arrived and that did not slow down the kitchen. Drinks and other accompaniments were decent as well. It was a nice choice and would return. read more

Oh, Mother! So the truth is: 3 stars for service, and 4 stars for food. However, since I'm feeling generous (and the warm afterglow of a wonderful Copenhagen visit) I'm rounding up. Oh, charitable me! We went for lunch on a hot summer's day. The interior is beautiful and rustic: warm red lights, and lots of wood. We opted to sit outside at the wooden picnic tables (it's sunny! Let's tan and eat pizza!). We ordered a margherita pizza with baby mozzarella. And iced coffees. The pizza was great; sourdough and thin but crispy and doughy in just the right places. Toppings were minimal (as intended) and fresh and good quality. Particularly welcome was the cost: totally reasonable for a cool place in Copenhagen. However (here's the "but...")...the service isn't great. We asked for water three times and not only never got it, but got attitude for re-asking. One server brought the wrong order to our table. Things generally were slow. The neighbouring table just sat there for 15 minutes until a server approached them and told them that they "HAD TO" order inside first (why didn't anyone tell them this was protocol and/or have signage to that effect?). Perhaps most annoying is that a business meeting was happening nearby and they were treated like VIPs: food came quickly and they got refills on the carafes of water that we had asked several times for. Womp. Yelp note: save room for dessert! For the price of 1 euro they have "mini desserts" like tiramisu and panacotta. Perfect for the "just one bite is all I need" sweet tooth! read more
If you are looking for pizza in Copenhagen, this is the place you have to go! Tucked into an industrial area that is quickly becoming gentrified with little restaurants and microbreweries, this pizza joint is a traditional Italian pizza with fresh ingredients. On most nights you will find a wait but they move people relatively fast (without feeling rushed). The only drawback is it is on the slightly pricer side of pizza but fits well with the other establishments in the area. read more

Went here with some friends on a Friday, and it was busy as hell but well worth the wait ! The pizza was really good (made on sour dough) and the atmosphere was even better !!! If you are a pizza fan this is a good place to go, both for the pizza's and for the drinks and the chill vibes.. we were 3 people = 3 pizza's, 2 waters, 2 drinks, 2 starters = 750kr (€100) Not the cheapest place, but its Copenhagen so it really isnt that bad either. read more

Hygge atmosphere, tasty pizza that's completely unexpected- it's delicious in its simplicity and completely understated and surprising. Our waitress was kind and attentive. I love the meat packing district here, so full of great food and if you're in the mood for pizza, this is probably your #1 choice. Loved their wine, dessert and liqueur selection - the ricotta and Nutella calzone was a big deal at our table! read more
My friends and I were seated immediately at an outside picnic table on a Friday night at prime dinner time. We waited a significant amount of time to get our pizzas, and then only two came. One was forgotten, so we had to ask for it, but it came quickly after. The food was delicious and the pizzas had interesting topping combinations. Although the pizza was perfectly cooked and arranged, the service was rather poor. Our pizzas took at least 45 minutes to come out and then we waited even longer after to get our check, reminding the staff more than once that we were waiting for the check. The worker tried to explain that it was a busy Friday night, but we did not believe that accounted for the poor service we received. read more
Pretty good and hip option. The interior has a very rustic and minimalist feel. Skip the appetizers and go straight for the pizza. Split a few with your friends and indulge in that incredible dough. Make a reservation over the phone, or go early (we went around 5:30-6ish and walked straight in on a SATURDAY). read more

In my opinion the best pizza in copenhagen! Better than gorm's. Better than neighbourhood. The sourdough is spot on, and a great selection of toppings and flavors. The porcella I got was awesome! The cubes of mushrooms are cooked just perfectly and are very juicy. I also recommend the espresso martini! It was a great drink. read more

We were craving pizza one late night so I turned to handy Yelp and found this place - in the old meat packing neighborhood. It was a short walk from our hotel (Savoy) and found it with no problems - there was a small crowd outside the entry door and a small line of people waiting to get seated. I was so hungry and that pizza smelled sooooo good when that door opened! We waited for about 15 minutes and were seated. The restaurant is pretty small and tables are fairly close together - but it's a happening place late night for sure. Every table was full and groups of people were waiting for a table. We ordered the Porcini bruschetta, the pepperoni pizza and the Buffala pizza - and everything was quite tasty. Satisfied my hunger for sure! Pizzas are made with sourdough crust and they came out hot and crispy in a timely manner. read more

GREAT pizza but definitely not a huge bargain. We went to Mother on a Saturday night, so a huge line of around ~20 people had already formed. The host was really funny and joked around with the customers so the wait didn't seem terrible and it was surprisingly fast as it was only 15 minutes. We ordered 3 different pizzas for the 5 of us, which definitely was not enough! The pizzas were delicious though. If you're a fan of thin crust pizzas, you'll love Mother. The other part was just that the dough was perfect. We got a margherita pizza and it was my first time trying this type of pizza. It basically just had mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil. I thought it was really great but my elitist New York friends called it "average". The other pizzas we got were a prosciutto pizza and another pizza that had both potatoes and prosciutto on it. Both of these pizzas were amazing and were even validated by the New York pizza connoisseurs. We also got a great drink called Aperol Spritz, which is a big hit amongst the locals. The drink had a little bit of soda, Prosecco, Aperol, and it was topped with an orange. It was awesome and they made it pretty strong if that is what you're looking for! The service here wasn't bad, but it could've been better. The place was crowded, so slow service is understandable, but slow service is still inconvenient nonetheless. The other slight negative about Mother is the prices compared to the portion sizes. If you're hungry, I would definitely recommend getting at least a whole pizza to yourself and even that may not be enough. Splitting 3 pizzas among 5 pizzas is for sure not enough and we actually got a little more to eat after because we were still hungry. Prices were pretty high, each pizza was around 135 Kroner ($17) and the Aperol Spritz's were 65 Kroner (~$10), which wasn't too bad, but I thought the pizzas were kinda small. Went here for dinner on a Monday night at the recommendation of a friend and loved it!! We got a table right away and elected to sit inside because it was rather hot. The staff were kind and attentive (despite what other reviews have said). There was an extensive wine list, much better than what I've seen at other restaurants in Copenhagen. We also took a gander at the bruschetta and antipasto but elected to pass because we just weren't that hungry. Ordered the Prosciutto and Margherita pizzas and both were fantastic!! They came out in a timely manner and were more than enough to feed one person for dinner. The toppings were delicious and the dough was tasty and fluffy and everything we'd heard it would be. Absolutely awesome pizza Overall, a great spot if you're looking for fantastic pizza and a break from the busy center of Copenhagen. Vesterbro offers visitors the chance to relax in a really cool, artistic suburb and see a completely different part of the city. My only regret is not ordering the bruschetta- if its as good as the rest of the menu I'll have to go back and try it!! read more

Now that was some pretty good pizza. This is no New York slice, but a whole lot of good pizza dough with fresh, seasonal toppings. The service was prompt and the host made us feel like we were locals. Mother was recommended to us by an associate who dines there often. It's on a side street in the meat packing district and was within walking distance of the Tivoli Hotel. Huge portions for pizza. We had one with salmon, zucchini, and chives, and another with ground sausage and pepperoni. The crust was crispy on the edges and soft in the middle. Also had some varietal bruschetta with an olive tepinade. After a glass of wine and the pizzas we were good to go. Near the middle of our meal, another couple was seated at the end of our table. They were locals and came to Mother often. They told us to be sure and order the tiramisu and a dessert that is a scoop of vanilla ice cream placed in a cup of espresso. We visited Mother while traveling to Copenhagen this November and loved it. This restaurant was down the street from our Airbnb in Vesterbro. We wish we made a reservation ahead of time but were quite content grabbing a drink at the bar, listening to the band for a bit, and then waiting outside by the fire at picnic tables that had heaters on them while we waited. The host was super nice and the waiter who took our order was super accommodating and patient. Our prosciutto mozzarella pizza was excellent! read more

Delicious pizza, amazing flavors, crisp crust...you won't be disappointed. First off, they are open to 1am...perfect for the late night crowd in the Meatpacking area of Copenhagen... Secondly, the price is reasonable for such a fresh quality whole pizza... I thought the only delicious pizzas that existed late at night were from crappy &pizza, but I've certainly seen the light since coming to Copenhagen!!! Definitely a must try! read more
