Food is an essence of travel and to be disappointed again and again is a bit sad. This place thankfully had good food. The pizza is not your usually Italian pizza. I assume it has a Danish twist. It's very thin crust. We ordered the Mark & Rita which is a play on words for Margherita pizza. We had the sourdough bread with buttermilk butter which was tasty. Olives were a nice start. Ordered the food with "Le Orme" glass of red which was nice and crisp and complemented the food. The servers Sean and Victor were attentive. The place has a very cozy feel to it. I'm just so surprised that so many restaurants are closed this early on weekdays.

While enjoying an adult beverage, we asked our very friendly bartender for a recommendation and he suggested this restaurant. So we walked over, reviewed the menu a second time and decided to give it a try. Being from Chicago, we are picky about our Italian food. We were not disappointed. We would have loved to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful evening, but Europe has not gotten the message about smoking not being good for you. They sit at restaurants and smoke like chimneys. We sat indoors to avoid the smoke and it was fine. They bring you a basket of bread ~ delicious ~ we had a salad and stuffed ravioli. While dining, I noticed a woman outside eating a very delicious looking dish with a creamy sauce, not a red sauce. However, this was some of the best ravioli we had ever eaten. We enjoyed our dinner so much, we returned 2 nights later with friends. They, too, were shocked at the high level of delicious Italian food in Copenhagen. The second night I did order the pasta with a creamy mushroom sauce and thoroughly enjoyed it. Yeah, I read the negative reviews. With doors and windows open wouldn't you expect bugs to be flying about? We had no issues with friendliness and service. Even the restaurants in America start to clean and close down as tables are vacated, what's the big deal with that?

Unfortunately, there wasn't nearly enough food for the group, and the pizza itself was underwhelming and nothing special. What really ruined the evening, though, was the service. Our waiter was extremely rude throughout the meal. We asked if a high chair was available for our baby, and he told us there weren't any. At the end of the night, we discovered there was in fact a high chair available--he simply hadn't bothered to check. It was frustrating, especially when dining with a young child, and made us feel like our request wasn't worth the effort. Between the poor service, lackluster food, and inadequate portions, this was one of the worst dining experiences we've had in a long time. We left very disappointed and would not recommend this restaurant.
