GLG is not the type of club where you will see coach screaming at players for a missed pass, poor position etc... GLG is particularly good for recreational and entry competitive teams. This was perfect for us as our daughters were not that competitive early on, but the GLG approach made them progress and enjoy the sport so much that now they are in some if the best clubs / teams in town.

They knew the game was for fun and to help the younger kids grow. What a friendly game of basketball! God bless!

Bright airy space for parties !…read more I rented this facility for half a day on a Sunday. My dealing with SF Park and Rec were professional and efficient. MINI STAGE I loved the little stage perfect for performances or shows. HIGH CEILINGS Ceilings felt tall like inside a chapel. The building and complex felt modern. KITCHEN INCLUDED Commercial kitchen with fridge and freezer. TABLES, CHAIRS INCLUDED At least 6 round tables and 6 long rectangle tables included with chairs enough for 50-60 people WEEKEND DIFFICULT PARKING Beware there are youth soccer games from 8 am onwards. The whole parks street parking while free of charge was at capacity. TIP It's one giant room with no small breakout rooms. I brought pop up tents for privacy for breastfeeding mothers at my party. Would rent again.

He has played multiple sessions in both co-ed and boys basketball. Oliver (the director) and his team deeply care about the well-being and growth of the kids and have done a fantastic job managing the program through the aftermath of the pandemic. The community of parents is simply amazing - warm and generous in spirit and trusting and supportive of Oliver and the program. If your child (boy or girl) is into basketball and you want them to experience rec-level team play in a supportive environment then you will want to consider this program. There are recurring sessions for different grade levels every few months and the location is convenient.

He's had a speech delay and has had his academic struggles, so he's always had an aversion to team sports, and has even voiced that he's felt "different." We've tried to put him into other baseball and soccer when he was 4-5 years old, but he was never drawn to them. He instead preferred solo sports activities like swimming and martial arts, namely because he could progress at his own pace, without the added pressure of competition. Through a friend we met Coach Marty and it's been a blessing ever since! He has a way of easing kids into the basics of the sport, even if they've never played before and if they are shy and introverted. He's made it a fun and stress free experience and now my son LOVES the game. My son has been training with Coach Marty for about 6 months, and he went from being scared to even kick a ball with other kids around him, to running and passing the ball, shooting goals and avidly seeks to improve his game. He looks forward to every practice and cheers on his team mates. It's not just the exercise and basic soccer skills that he's taken away from this program thus far, but rather the build up of confidence, the sense of teamwork, and the enthusiasm for healthy exercise that he'll be able to use for the rest of his life. If you've got a kid that feels "different" or is shy, I'd definitely check First Step Soccer out. He or she is bound to learn more than just the game, and that's the real reward.
