I ventured to this park in search of a stroller friendly environment for my 6 week old. This park…read morepopped up on a recommended list found online. I loved the convenience of parking and the greenery and view. A car parked beside us and a group of people started smoking weed so I suppose this is a meeting spot to do that as well. Found the philosophers trail but quickly realized that it was not stroller friendly so headed towards the other side of the park with picnic tables. The rocky path was decent but still caused my baby's head to wobble a bit. I looped up the paved path between picnic benches and ended my walk there since it was incredibly windy and chilly. I recommend this park for a lunch date or a stroll (without a stroller).

An underrated park for sure! As a Bay Area native, GGP is generally my go-to park, but McLaren…read moredefinitely falls second, slowly becoming one of my favorites. There is a ton of free parking available at different points of the park, along with restrooms, picnic tables, and benches. There's a variety of different terrain (flat concrete, grass, hilly dirt trails) in the park, making it suitable for dog walks, running, hiking, cycling, and recreational sports. It is far less busier than GGP, which can be great if you're opting for a peaceful stroll in nature. Although not as polished as GGP, the park is maintained fairly well. I would highly recommend this park if you're looking for a quieter, less crowded peaceful retreat in the city. I also suggest previewing the map first, as there are tons of different parks within the park, based on the activity you're going for.

This is a good park of walking/hiking distance from my house (25 mins)…read more My niece and nephew likes to walk here. It's not big but it takes up a whole neighborhood block. Basketball court, tennis court, baseball field, another huge grass field, 2 playground for kids (one for babies & toddlers) (another for bigger kids) There's a small classroom for youth /counseling programs and a public bathroom. It's pretty big, but is not kept clean, but okay to use. There's one male urinal (open, no stall or door) and one large toilet (they can fit another 2 toilet stalls) which have urine on the floor of all the times we went. I have to pour water on the floor to wash the bottoms of our shoes. The playground gets crowded some times which is always a hassle. Some kids don't know how to share and be patience, you have to watch your kids closely. Overall a nice park to chill

My local playground! Lots of options here: - A large field…read morewith baseball diamond (I've never actually seen anyone play baseball here, so it's just a huge field for my dog to run around on!) - A tennis court - A basketball court - 2 decent sized playground structures - one for toddlers, one for kids (though my 2-year-old can play on both!). There is also sand under the structures, which is a huge plus. Both structures are gated off. A friend who lives a block away and comes pretty often says this playground is always busy, and it probably is compared to others in the city, but your luck can vary. I've come at 10am on a Saturday and it was relatively empty, 5pm on a weekday when it was packed, and 1pm on a weekday when it was pretty busy. There are lots of trees around the playground, so there's plenty of shade. There are bathrooms here, though half the time one of them is "out of service", and they are generally pretty dirty. No dedicated parking lot, but there are a lot of angled spots along Madrid by the main park entrance. There's also a community center with a large room; pre-COVID, there was free Zumba at 9am every Saturday. A pretty low-impact, beginner-level class, but decent as a free resource! I've heard you can also rent this community center (for kid's birthdays, etc).
