We heard lots of good things about Longstreet and decided to visit ourselves…read more We recently ordered a living room set from another store and have been waiting months for it to arrive. After multiple delays, we decided to see what other options were out there. Enter Longstreet Living. We were politely greeted several times by every employee that passed by. Every one made sure we were taken care of. We were pleasantly surprised to find a living room outfit we liked better than the one we ordered. The style, the fabric, the quality and the price, were all perfect. After waiting months for our previously ordered living room set, we thought this new set was worth asking a out . Our salesman understood our dilemma and was willing to sell us the display model to help our situation. Luckily enough there was a second set still boxed up in the back. We opted to have the furniture delivered the following week for a small additional fee. After completing the paperwork, we headed for home. Along the way we discussed what we needed to do to cancel the previous order from the chain store. We hadn't made it halfway home when we got a call from Longstreet. Our salesman wondered if we were heading straight home and offered to deliver the furniture today. He actually said he thought I might like to watch the game this weekend on my new couch, and wondered if we would be around for the delivery!! After waiting months for our previously ordered set, with no delivery in sight, this was a huge surprise. The way all the other stores were delaying deliveries, we never expected to have furniture for a while. Longstreet made new friends that day. I'm definitely going back for a bedroom outfit.

I traveled from Va Beach to Colon, Michigan with my 12 year old son last month to camp and fish. I…read morevacationed there every summer of my childhood. It was our first time back in decades. Colon Bait and Tackle, thankfully, has not changed much. I have been to plenty of bait shops and sporting good stores. I worked at one for years when I was younger. Colon Bait and Tackle is a business that has held true to itself. They do not sell toys, or food, or trendy gadgets that are not related to their product line. The owner was terrific! She is not warm and snuggly to everyone, but was just great with my son. She was professional. It is a fishing store, not a place to go and have your hair and nails done. When we returned a few days later, she remembered him right away and asked how he did fishing? She showed him enthusiasm when he spoke of the big old bass we caught. He was proud to have filleted it using the knife we purchased at her store. She knows her product, and how to catch fish. She knows the surrounding lakes and waterways as well. Perhaps the previous reviewer got what he gave? I found items to be well-priced and competitive with Wall-Mart and the likes; however, her selection was much better! I purchased every pack of my favorite bobber-stoppers she had. I cannot find the same type anywhere else. I appreciated her expertise and small town specialty store. Go visit and have a "magical" productive fishing experience.

I have a grand story to tell about the family that runs this charming store in Litchfield. I had…read morepurchased a handgun online and this business was a licensed firearms dealer. The gun was shipped to them and I picked it up there. Candice and her husband are right out of a Norman Rockwell painting. Genuine and helpful as only people from this part of the country can be. Candice ....known as " Candy " to all who enter is about as charming a human being as you could hope to meet if you lived to be 500. She took multiple calls from me, answered all of my endless questions, and processed the paperwork with an accomplished proficiency. Their store was like walking back in time ....( as was most of " downtown " Litchfield ) and I am richer for having stopped in. Candy sold me some great Remington ammo at a fair price, and a slick holster for my Smith & Wesson. I imagine this store made $20 bucks off me for all of their efforts. And yet they treated me like I had spent a thousand. I have my issues with living part-time in MIchigan. The winters are rough and the restaurants are often so mediocre it borders on comical. But it is experiences like I had doing business with Litchfield Outdoors that makes my heart forgive the freakin' freezing winters...and the food that is so very MEH...because of the great pleasure one gets when having a human connection to a decent person. California has the better weather....and the worst restaurants there still beat 90% of what I have found here in the frozen / humid North. What California does not have enough of is shopkeepers like Candy and her husband. I half expected to see Opie and Sheriff Taylor walk in for some fishing gear while jumping out of the street to miss Doc. Brown as he tries to make his DeLorean hit 88 miles an hour. Thanks for the 1st class experience.
