I am sad seeing Jeanette is moving away, but I am happy for Idaho gaining a new skilled seamstress…read more I purchased my wedding dress in summer 2020 and looked for many seamstresses close to my area with outstanding skills. After reading about her many years of experience on her website, I knew I had found the right seamstress. She's friendly, honest, patient, professional, and skilled. My wedding was postponed twice due to Covid. Jeanette offered to store my dress at her place to save me the hassle of bringing it back. She's such a thoughtful person. It was a great experience working with her because she made each fitting fun. She has finished altering my dress today and it looks stunning. Thank you again for the hard work. I can't wait to wear it on my wedding day. Good luck with your new beginning in Idaho!

I am extremely overdue in writing this review, but I need to share my story of how Jeanette saved…read moremy dress. I bought my wedding gown at an Alfred Angelo closeout sale nine months before my wedding date. Around four months later I brought the dress to a family friend whom my parents insisted I bring it to because she used to make wedding dresses. She ends up hanging on to the dress until a month before the wedding. When I get it back, I notice my dress was hemmed like a pair of pants, just folded over. The outer layer of my dress is lace and it looked like a loofa. My so-called bustle was a hole through the backside of my dress to just pull the hanger loop out from underneath. It was a mess. I showed my MOH and bridesmaids. It got to a point where they told me to just buy a new dress. I really liked my Disney dress so I made a few calls to some mobile seamstresses. They all said it was too late for my dress to be fixed. This is where Jeanette answers my call and says she could take a look and see if it can be done in 2 weeks. The next morning, I get off work from my night shift, shower, and rush on over to her place which was only 10 minutes away. I put on my dress and she starts to take apart the stitching my family friend did to the lace. It was salvageable. I saw all the dresses she had made and placed on display. I knew I was at the right place. She specialized in lace. Four days after I left my dress with Jeanette, she calls me saying my dress was finished. She really worked her magic! It was ahead of schedule and she lifted so much weight off my shoulders. I tried on the dress and it was perfect. She made a beautiful bustle with three hook points, and showed me how to find the hooks so I could show my bridesmaids. I cannot thank Jeanette enough for taking on the mess of my dress. I highly recommend her for dress alterations and custom made dresses.

I met Jessica on 6/10 needing two dresses hemmed up for a wedding in September…read more We had our fitting scheduled for 6/11 but it was rescheduled on her end for 6/20. We had the fitting at her home where she conducts her business. She was very friendly in person. On 9/9 I texted her asking if she had time to fit another dress in for a hem job to be completed by 9/29 as I was going on vacation and wanted to wear the new dress I bought, knowing it was only a few weeks- I asked if a last minute hem was possible, she said it was and we arranged for it to be dropped off 9/10. I picked up my initial two dresses 9/25 with no problem and confirmed the third would be ready 9/29. On 9/29 I messaged asking when I could come by to pick up the dress to which she replied she had not started it and could have it done by 9/30. I was unable to pick up 9/30 as my flight left the country then. So I told her I'd pick it up when I got back into town- disappointed I wouldn't have my dress but not the end of the world. I got back into town and texted 10/17 asking when I could get the dress. I didn't receive a reply, I messaged a week later 10/23 when I could get the dress, and if it wasn't ready I still wanted it (at this point it had been almost a month since it was initially due to be done). She replied that I could come 10/24 to get the dress, and asked "if she was able to hem it, did I want her to do so". After almost a month of having my dress she hadn't even touched it yet, despite her offering to have it done by 9/30 I told her if she hadn't started it don't worry about it- I'll come get it anyways, planning to take it elsewhere. She messaged me 10/24 telling me she did in-fact end up hemming it and I picked it up that day. While she did apologize over text for not having it done by the due date back on 9/29, she did not mention or apologize in person for it being a month late I understand the fall is considered "wedding" season but over-committing and not meeting pick-up dates despite assuring it would be fine, and not even doing the hem until the night before I told you I wanted to pick it up is super frustrating. Communication wasn't great either, often waiting awhile to hear back over texts despite it being her preferred method of communication. While my first experience was good and everything was done in time, the second experience did leave a bad feeling about going back for future alteration needs.

I initially found them after posting an…read morealterations project on Yelp, and Jimmy C responded super quickly with helpful info about when their alterations expert would be available. He also provided pricing upfront, which I found very reasonable. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly smiles! Since moving here this past September, I've been searching for a reliable dry cleaning and alterations spot -- and I think I may have found it. Morgan took care of my dry cleaning ($6 per garment prepaid -- love that!), and Michael helped me with my alterations. He was incredibly helpful in walking me through what was needed, what could realistically be done, and even left the pins in a few garments so I could go home, think it over, and move around in them before giving the green light. I really appreciated that thoughtful approach since I'm still on the fence about altering a couple items I didn't spend much on to begin with. Turnaround times are also great -- dry cleaning by tomorrow and alterations by next week. I'll post updates once I pick everything up! So far so good!!!

Thank you to Yelp for helping me find Serena and Sew Joyful Creations! I am so thankful to have…read morefound a seamstress in my area that has some serious talent! My first appointment consisted of a desperate need of some work on a bridesmaid dress. The wedding was in March and I think we got started on the dress in late January/early February. It was a 3 layer dress that needed to be hemmed the 3/4 weird material sleeves also needed to be taken in. I had a few fittings between my first appointment and my final pick up, and she did a beautiful job. During this first appointment, I brought along my new sequin pants (apparently they are making a come back and I am ahead of fashion haha!) I wasn't sure if this could even be done. I am 5'2" on a good day and she had to cut off an obscene amount of fabric. Let me tell you though, they look great! I love these pants and always try to find the right even to wear them. Serena has many many other talents. Super fixes, various other fabric handlings, etc... if you are in need of something that required needle and thread, reach out. You will not be disappointed. I will be seeing her again shortly for another bridesmaid dress alteration.
