The seamstress at TLC did a fantastic job of sewing them up, as good as the manufacturer.

I initially found them after posting an…read morealterations project on Yelp, and Jimmy C responded super quickly with helpful info about when their alterations expert would be available. He also provided pricing upfront, which I found very reasonable. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly smiles! Since moving here this past September, I've been searching for a reliable dry cleaning and alterations spot -- and I think I may have found it. Morgan took care of my dry cleaning ($6 per garment prepaid -- love that!), and Michael helped me with my alterations. He was incredibly helpful in walking me through what was needed, what could realistically be done, and even left the pins in a few garments so I could go home, think it over, and move around in them before giving the green light. I really appreciated that thoughtful approach since I'm still on the fence about altering a couple items I didn't spend much on to begin with. Turnaround times are also great -- dry cleaning by tomorrow and alterations by next week. I'll post updates once I pick everything up! So far so good!!!

Poor laundry service, Poor customer service, and Lies…read more I won't be going here anymore... I used to bring them my button down work shirts, $100+ Ralph Lauren polo shirts. They charge you in advance to get Fukked. I pay for laundered, pressed, No Starch and No Dry Cleaning! I got starched shirts back and they circled "light starch" on the ticket after the fact, my copy read "No Starch", Total dishonesty. I wanted them redone. I got attitude from the Hispanic girl. Picked them up today; I got back crispy shirts that the Owner, Jimmy Chianis, "Dry Cleaned" himself. The same girl said he tried to call me, but he did not call me, that was a lie. Cleaners get so many items that they often make mistakes. Don't be dishonest and lie about it. Admit your mistakes and correct them right away or lose customers.

And whoever previously reviewed and claimed you get a feel for the inner city here has clearly NEVER been in an inner city. When you've been stuck in the middle of New York City because all the trains were completely full heading back to Connecticut and you spend the night at the 24 hour McDonald's that is closest to Grand Central Station, then you'll know what the inner city looks like. Walk around and it's actually quiet there at 2 am but you see the occasional rat as big as a small cat and the drunks and hookers/hos at McD's and that's more like inner city. Being here at 7 AM and seeing the one apparent tweaker hang out for a few minutes on his phone before he heads to wherever else he is headed, in addition to the 2 older guys and 1 older gal doing laundry is pretty unthreatening after you seen the hookers and the dudes almost get in a fight and that happens throughout the night in the middle of NYC ... AT THE McD's! Or be in the middle of Philly even in the daytime. SMH. ANYWAY I'm here at 7 am before work to wash my work clothes. It appears clean and adequate, a few larger washers at $3.75 for a wash load in a triple load front loader, $3 for a double front loader, $1.50 per wash in a regular top loader washer. If it had free donuts, coffee, &/or WiFi it would get 5 stars? (I could swear one of the posts claimed they got donuts lol!) I'm only here for a half hour or so to wash so if I were here longer or at night and could get a real feel for this place I'd possibly reconsider my rating either way. Having a triple load of laundry done before the weekend even starts?! PRICELESS!

Why do people automatically assume we don't speak English why is it that people don't understand just because we don't look white we don't speak it lol ohh wow first of all I wanted was just wanted to wash my hands and the fist lady told me bathroom was clogged to which I answered her all I want is fro wash my hands !!!! So why don't you have wash basins out on the floor then ? Then my sister went in and she was throwing up because she's diabetic and she had an emergency and the lady comes to ask if I spoke English ( I honestly thought she was fools to tell me my sister fainted or something worse ) but instead she said to make sure I tell whoever's in the bathroom to flush the toilet to hold it down ( ok as if we wouldn't know how to do such correctly) she couldn't tell her because she thought she didn't speak English told me that it wasn't because of that but it was because she wasn't her relative to speak to her (ohhh wow so ridiculous) If YOU THE OWNER OF THIS PLACE ARE READING THIS check on your staff !!! Lady ask me not to come back !!!! Why would I want to come to a place where attendants are discriminating and assuming someone doesn't speak the language . I heard Idaho was racist but I really didn't think it was this bad , all I asked her was if she had actually told my sister about such to which she answered to me I'm not her relative wow so crazy ! What a bad experience!!! I will say tar it is a clean laundry and the prices aren't bad but I don't recommend this place

Because I have cats, I wanted to make sure it was cat dander free. I took it to 12th Avenue Cleaners upon recommendation from a friend. I was told it would be ready by Tuesday, but when I went to pick it up, I was told it wouldn't be done until the next day, Wednesday. I showed up, picked up my blanket, went home and was immediately sick to my stomach! The pictures tell the story. I'm trying not to be upset, but I am let down that they didn't let me know that it was damaged. He just put it in a bag and sent me on my way. Lesson learned. Just like I check my food to be sure I got what I paid for at a drive through, I need to do the same when I go to the dry cleaner to voice my concerns about the finished product. I am sick that I am going tobe embarassed giving it to my daughter for my first grand baby, but I want her to know that I had good, loving intentions. I'm not sure that I WOULDN'T recommend this business, I just know my first experience here will be my last.

Sew Savvy Alterations - Wedding dress fitting

I met Jessica on 6/10 needing two dresses hemmed up for a wedding in September…read more We had our fitting scheduled for 6/11 but it was rescheduled on her end for 6/20. We had the fitting at her home where she conducts her business. She was very friendly in person. On 9/9 I texted her asking if she had time to fit another dress in for a hem job to be completed by 9/29 as I was going on vacation and wanted to wear the new dress I bought, knowing it was only a few weeks- I asked if a last minute hem was possible, she said it was and we arranged for it to be dropped off 9/10. I picked up my initial two dresses 9/25 with no problem and confirmed the third would be ready 9/29. On 9/29 I messaged asking when I could come by to pick up the dress to which she replied she had not started it and could have it done by 9/30. I was unable to pick up 9/30 as my flight left the country then. So I told her I'd pick it up when I got back into town- disappointed I wouldn't have my dress but not the end of the world. I got back into town and texted 10/17 asking when I could get the dress. I didn't receive a reply, I messaged a week later 10/23 when I could get the dress, and if it wasn't ready I still wanted it (at this point it had been almost a month since it was initially due to be done). She replied that I could come 10/24 to get the dress, and asked "if she was able to hem it, did I want her to do so". After almost a month of having my dress she hadn't even touched it yet, despite her offering to have it done by 9/30 I told her if she hadn't started it don't worry about it- I'll come get it anyways, planning to take it elsewhere. She messaged me 10/24 telling me she did in-fact end up hemming it and I picked it up that day. While she did apologize over text for not having it done by the due date back on 9/29, she did not mention or apologize in person for it being a month late I understand the fall is considered "wedding" season but over-committing and not meeting pick-up dates despite assuring it would be fine, and not even doing the hem until the night before I told you I wanted to pick it up is super frustrating. Communication wasn't great either, often waiting awhile to hear back over texts despite it being her preferred method of communication. While my first experience was good and everything was done in time, the second experience did leave a bad feeling about going back for future alteration needs.
