I had already paid for the original alterations, so was conscious of price. When she gave me the final total it was absolutely reasonable for the amount of work she did, including having to add materials to the dress itself. I think some people think that alterations should be cheap because sometimes you can get that from a dry cleaner, but in real life that type of quality work takes time and you definitely pay for what you get. The store itself is in a bit of an awkward spot off of Rt 51, but the inside is very spacious, clean, and has a great area for you to try on your dress under great lighting! One note is that she only accepts cash or checks. I will definitely be back for more alterations in the future. If you ever need a complete pro to alter or hem anything, whether it be a dress, pants, or fur coat, Anita is your lady!

After only 2 rounds of alterations, Barb had these dresses fitting like they were custom made for my body. I wish I could post the before and after pictures here. I read her negative review below because honestly I couldn't understand how someone could be dissatisfied with her work. I think people have to keep in mind that she's been doing this for decades- if she tells you something isn't going to work or won't look right, she's probably right. And the best part about her is she actually WILL tell you if something doesn't look right (unlike bridal shop sales people who will tell you you look good in any hideous dress). Then she'll show you how she's going to fix it. You just have to be open and trust her- like I said before she's been doing this for decades. Lastly, not only is she an amazing dressmaker, she's AFFORDABLE! I got several estimates for altering my 2 gowns that started at $400 each and quickly went up from there. They gave me Debbie's contact and said she has worked magic before and fixed horrible mistakes. She was able to squeeze me in (this was a month before my wedding) and was able to deliver after completely deconstructing my dress, having to express order new fabric to redo the top of my dress, and get it to me on time! The top of my dress was corset style and the original seamstress made it so tight and told me that's how those dresses fit that I even had a short second dress because I was so worried it being uncomfortable and so tight in all the wrong places but Debbie also made it fit like a glove and I wore it all night (and it was so comfortable and flattering)! She is the kindest woman and truly knows her craft. You absolutely should use her if able!!
