Nice shop. I try to check out fabric stores when I'm on vacation. I stopped in here for about 30 minutes and was able to find a couple fabrics for a new quilt I'm working on. The staff was friendly. They had pretty good selection. At one point I thought I had seen everything but I kept walking back and there was more and more little nooks and rooms with fabric. Prices were typical of most fabric shops these days. I'd say it's worth a stop here! read more

So, this is a bittersweet review! I absolutely loved the fabric - so much!- patterns, and extras! BUT - there is NO customer service. I was very excited to stop here on our travels through, but because of the lack of assistance, I wouldn't go back. My husband and I stopped. We were shopping and I saw a bag that I wanted the pattern for. He volunteered to ask if they had the pattern and waited patiently for his turn. That never came. Evidently, the only way to get noticed there is to interrupt other customers while they are being assisted. There were two people in front of him having fabric cut - a man came up, interrupted to ask a question, and went on. Next, a woman they know came up, announced she only needed this "one thing cut" and they helped her. By this time, I found the pattern myself, so we went to check out. Two people in front of us and the clerk is visiting with the woman they knew. Evidently they don't need my money, so we put the pattern down and left. I went to the pattern website and ordered the same pack on-line for minimal shipping - the total was still less than they were charging in the store. This is really, too bad. I live 3 hours north and would have been willing to make the drive - they really have beautiful fabrics, but for service like this - it's not worth the trip! read more

I think this is the first quilt store that I have ever visited that I was not greeted or asked if there was anything they could help me find. I wandered around for about a half hour, and if there was a sales clerk, they were busy chatting with another customer. Granted, I don't like someone following me around but it would have been nice to have been acknowledged. Nice fabric selection and very clean store. read more

Stopped in to get information about a project I'm working on & forgot today was the first day of the "Quilt Rush" event. Staff was extremely accommodating, efficient & friendly, even though they were very busy! I didn't take their time this visit for the help I needed, but got a fabulous project & enjoyed shopping there. Selection is very good & staff is excellent. Definitely will be back! read more

I could not believe this gem of a quilt store. There is literally a color to match everything. They have loads of patterns, and everything you might need to make the project. She even has lots of purse supplies, so makes starting a purse/tote project so much easier! Bonus... she has a great variety of quality sewing machines for sale, also. read more

SERVICE: I read the reviews here and decided to check them out anyways. I was prepared for bad service but as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a staff member. She gave me a verbal tour of the store, asked about what project I was working on, and introduced me to her coworker when she walked up to the front. She was very friendly! The coworker however, didn't acknowledge my existence. I passed by her multiple times through the store and I was a ghost to her. It wasn't because she was shy, she spoke with her coworker. She did however open up towards the end of my shopping trip and speak to me. If the lady that had ignored me had been the only staff member in the store, I think it would had been a bad experience. However the other lady (the one who greeted me) made the whole experience enjoyable. FABRIC: wow, this store is filled with fabric!! I wish there was more fabric with designs (such as licensed characters) and kids prints. The have a beautiful Christmas section and the Halloween section was very nice as well. BIG SURPRISE: Purses! They have so many homemade purses and classes to make them too! It was absolutely impressive and it makes this store stand out from their competitors! PRICE: I though the price was a bit lower per yard than what I have see in other quilt stores. read more

I've read the good and bad reviews. I've only found very helpful staff to assist me - dropping what they were doing to assist me. Just completed my first class here - collage class taught by Misty - and was very comfortable with the environment and the staff. I'm giving this shop 5 stars - their fabric collection is amazing!! I love this store. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Tremendous variety of fabrics and notions and new inventory every time I visit. I have been taking my Bernina 750 there for servicing the last few years even though I bought it elsewhere. The serving is excellent and the owner takes the time to tell me about the new updates and what was done. I think this may be my favorite quilt store. read more

Sew Simple is getting 1 star because I can't leave a review with zero stars. I am disappointed. This store is beautiful, with a lovely selection of quality products. However, the service is horrible. The ladies are down right rude, and if you ask a question they have attitude. I have been in the store about four times, and each time the service gets worse. All the ladies are rude and have attitude, but the owner is the worst. I'm actually surprised she is still in business. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!! I will drive to Chico and will not spend another dime in this store due to the bad attitude, energy, and rude service!!! read more

big Sigh...I really love the fabrics in this store, however, it is not the material thing, it is relationship in business. Unfortunately, I have given this store far more of a chance than my friends have; *spending in the store to see if they changed their customer service toward me, *engaging them in helping me select additional fabrics for a quilt, BIG FAIL and I bought them...bad but was trying to establish relationship. * Purchasing fabric and kits thinking it may help relationship * Asking questions about Berninas before I purchased my new Janome * Just being nice EVERY time I came in * Praising the samples, even though I got bitter reception * Praising the great displays of fabric * Recommending to friends anyway, who incidentally have had the same experience So far, Nothing has worked and they have failed miserably. I am so sad because they really have beautiful fabric choices and a nice setup for classes. They have lots of great tools, samples, and for Bernina fans, great options, however, all of these things can be purchased elsewhere. And the ladis in there seem to like quilting, but why not sharing quilting with others? They know this, so why would they not want to build a better face to face relationship with their customers? Customer service is a gift, some have it, some do not. I am sure the owner is good with parts of her business that are equally important, but managing people and customer service is not where she excels, nor does her current staff that I have seen, maybe it is time to change things up? I will pray for this shop because maybe it is time to take an honest look at the areas that could use help to turn around the business. It isnt just a hobby, the owner has been in the area a long time. I will be watching and listening for change before I consider coming back or recommending this store to my friends and fellow quilters. For now, I'm going to have to step out. Sew Simple has a lot of Moda fabrics and a good selection of patriotic civil war fabrics. Nice sample projects hanging and patterns for projects. There is a good size classroom with an area devoted to seasonal projects on a quarterly basis to get you inspired to create. Giving 2 stars for the selections of fabrics/patterns etc which it probably honestly deserves more stars. The shop lacks in the area of friendly helpful staff. At times the staff is downright rude and insulting especially of the beginning quilters that are just learning. For that reason have shopped the last time in this store. There are friendlier places to spend my hard earned money. Hope the owners will learn something I'm sure I'm not the only one that has experienced bad behavior before in this store. read more

The staff and owner, in particular, are rude. I always try to avoid going into this shop. During my first visit to this shop I picked fabrics that were bundled together. When I went to pay for them the owner, Nancy, informed me that the price wasn't correct and that she wouldn't sell them to me for the price marked. She embarrassed me. Not one person acknowledges your presence when you walk in. Even the sign on the door is rude. When they are closed says SHUT. read more

I have shopped at Sew Simple for the past 11 years. I took my very first sewing class with them, 5 days of quilting for the beginner. All the staff has always been helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. They have introduced me to new embroidery stabilizers, excellent threads, washaway products, hoops, and embroidery pens. They have brainstormed with me over fabric choices and calculated the yardage I need accurately. I shop at all the shops in town, but Sew Simple continues to be an excellent resource for me.
