I started coming here six years ago to augment the lab time and instruction I was getting in school. Their darkroom was my happy place for a long time and was fairly priced. What impressed me the most about their gorgeous space was that they encouraged clients to get their work off their screens and onto the walls. Literally, any time I had a question about anything related to photography or printing, Stuart, Ed, Constance, Chrysta, or Nathan would make the time for me and help me out or give me feedback. I enjoyed printing there and always left feeling inspired because they were so kind, knowledgeable, and professional. When I raised the issue, the owner and staff were dismissive, refused a refund, and ignored multiple emails and calls. Their unprofessional behavior was bizarre and astonishing. Additionally they charged a somewhat costly fee simply to diagnose the issue. Faced with a time crunch, I looked on Yelp and luckily came across the many good reviews for Ryan at CC&R in the Outer Sunset. In addition to building custom computers, Ryan also does hardware repairs and fixes programming issues. Ryan was able to quickly accept my laptop at 8pm, and spent the night and the next day diagnosing and fixing the problem. His hours are flexible and he doesn't drag out his work over several days. I was very impressed at the speed with which he was able to work on things, and the completeness of his work. In addition to fixing a software bug issue, he did a diagnosis of the health of my drives, my virus software, and recommended a switch to a free program, which he did for me. The cost of his help, considering the level of attention and speed, was quite fair. It should be noted that Ryan is a local college student. I'm quite happy to be helping someone who is working his way through school. I appreciated his help so much that I created a Yelp account just to leave a good review. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
