I have been using Seville Tailors for more than twenty years. I usually get a suite or a sports coat every year from him. I couldn't be happier with the work Pat does. The final fitting is always comfortable and true to form, and I choose the a unique fabric from one of fifteen or twenty books of Italian and British fabrics which he is able to source. When I order a suit, it is usually done well ahead of when I might need it, so I have never had a problem with the suit being late. Many of my colleagues, also, use Pat and have been doing so for many years. The only negative comment I might have about Seville Tailors is that they are located in Burnaby, close to Edmunds and Kingsway. I am surprised by some of the earlier comments, because I have been getting suits from Pat for close to a quarter century and they are not indicative of my experiences. read more

I went to Seville for a ladies custom tuxedo, wool pantsuit, and shirt totaling $2800.00. During the tuxedo fitting (which was several weeks past due), I politely asked for some adjustments as the pants were ill fitting, and the jacket also had some problems. When these flaws were pointed out, Pat reacted in a belligerent manner, told me that he was going to refund my deposit, and I could forget about my suits. He added that he will never make another ladies garment again. Needless to say, I was shocked that he would treat a customer so rudely. I asked for the refund of my deposit which he gave, and left the store. I strongly urge any of you ladies considering having a suit made here, to take your business elsewhere. I went to Pat to get my first custom suit made because I heard Pat did all the celebrity fittings when they come to Vancouver. Pat measured me and after a 1st and 2nd fitting, I came back and had 2 beautiful suits that fit like a glove. I would highly recommend Pat to anyone wanting custom clothing made for themselves. His pricing is very reasonable and the quality of his craftsmanship is suburb; Hand-stitched, Italian wools, and as much customizations as you please. I went to Pat after searching high and low for someone who makes women's suits. I understand this may not have been their speciality, given the seemingly male dominate audience for this sort of thing. Never the less, I was measured and assured Pat understood what I wanted (I brought an image of the silhouette/cuts I wanted as to avoid any miscommunication). As I mentioned I was looking for something feminine, and professional, I was asked to reference their webpage for all the "inspirational" looks that they could make (which featured many stock photos of what I consider decent woman work wear.) I believe in supporting locals and I hate giving small businesses bad reviews, but I was really disappointed with the experience and the final product. As the event I needed my suit seemed long after his estimated date, I initially told Pat I was happy to wait through the prescribed time after the fitting. However, a week after the set deadline, I called and Pat did not seem to have any recollection of the project, despite having taken my money. After we went through some of the details, I was told the work has yet to begin. When I finally went for my fitting, the pants were so tight I could not sit in them (no, I did not get fatter in the span of 5 weeks, my measurements were the same as the ones first recorded on the invoice). When I brought this to his attention and asked him to let out a bit, he grew frustrated and told me this was because I asked for slim fitting pants. I pointed out, I generally enjoy sitting once in a while and that is an activity I would ideally be able to perform in these pants. Finally, while making a show of his displeasure, he gave them to the ladies in the back to let out. This had to happen a few more times before I could comfortably wear them in public. Unfortunately this made the pants loose a lot of the shape and the sleekness of it's silhouette, ruching slightly, and sitting in an unflattering way on my hips. I did not feel giving feedback as to enable my body to fit into a custom made suite was in anyway an extraordinary request. Regardless, Pat became more and more irritated, showing his temper in sharp comments and dismissive instructions. The jacket I got was in no way what we discussed upon my consultation, or what I showed him in the images. It was clearly a small, dated, man's blazer. The shoulders were padded to be boxy, the torso of it was barely cinched. It was obviously made from a men's suit pattern. I am sure the durability of Seville Tailors as a business comes from creating some items successfully, but if you are looking for a women's suit, I have since then found a number of professional tailors suited for the job and Seville Tailors would not be among my recommendation . read more

Exquisite craftsmanship and service. I LOVE my custom 3 piece suit. Pat Coco is a master tailor and a great guy. After 3 fittings he crafted me the perfect suit for my wedding. The fit is excellent and he even sewed my name inside the jacket and my initials on the shirt sleeve. Price was reasonable, and certainly worth it, given the top quality. If your not sure, or, don know at all, Pat Cocco, Master Tailor and owner of Seville is happy to help. So I just picked up my newest bespoke suit from Seville Tailors and it's exactly what I asked for. The shell ( exterior ) is made by Dormeuil and is a 50/50 silk/cashmere blend. I found it and purchased on the internet ( $4800cdn tax and shipping included ). The lining of the jacket is two different pieces of 100% silk I found and purchased on the internet ( $500 ). I also found and bought the buttons. Then I gave all this material to Seville with my design plan (collar and lapel, button pattern, pocket type ) , but specially the orientation of the shell material. They not only cut it sideways for me, they cut it so that a particular edge would be the top, just like I wanted. It's sure is hard to complain when you get exactly what you ask for. Granted I knew what I wanted having had suits made to my designs before, both at Seville Tailors and other tailors in Vancouver and Burnaby. Now you don't have to provide your own material or design. He has material in stock and swatch books for you to choose from. When you're placing your order Pat has a check list of design options, you just pick what you like, and if you have any special requests you can add them. For instance, I asked for an extra inside pocket in the jacket, but no extra pockets inside of the pants pockets. Also be prepared for what might look like a mess. Keep in mind the Burnaby store is the factory so there is material everywhere. Cut, uncut, half cut, half sown, bits of thread, scissors and pins and marking chalk, etc. Look at it this way, you know how messy your kitchen is when your in the middle or preparing a 6 course meal, well, they're in the middle of preparing 10 suits and 5 jackets and 10 pants and 5 shirts and 5 overcoats, and wedding dresses and skirts and blouses and police uniforms and military uniforms etc, etc, etc, everyday, all day long. All together now I've had 4 suits made by Seville Tailors, each different in style, each with unique features specific to that suit ( two are sideways, one is inside-out ), all to my design and each one has turned out fantastic. Pat also made me a (special event) white dinner jacket, 100% silk with 100%silk lining, to my design including orientation of the materials' pattern and it is a knock-out. 3 pairs of matching pants, just of different colours. 1 shirt but only because I can't find material with patterns I want. And he's done alterations of suits and coats for me. I have off the rack stuff too but I hardly ever wear them. I strongly recommend Seville Tailors, gave it 4 out of 5 stars because nobody believes 5 out of 5. Realistically the 5th star is yours to earn. If you want custom work you need to do your research and know what you want, and ask for what you want. Me I got exactly what I asked for, he even made the changes I asked for half way through the build. Recently I was contacted by Pat as he asked me to remove my negative Yelp review (see below). In a private message, he originally offered to refund me the full cost of my suit, provided that I remove the review. I responded in an email that agreed to these terms, but did not hear back until recently - with a voice-message to my mobile. Pat then shifted his terms, and stated that he wanted to get the Yelp review removed soon, and would refund my money provided that I return the suit he made for me whilst removing my online write-up. * I described to Pat that I had invested in another tailor to fix the suit (nearly a year ago) and would not be returning it, but that I would still remove the review for the full refund. I reminded Pat as to the circumstances that caused me grief - that his craftsmanship albeit less-than-stellar was not the main motivation for my poor review; I was disappointed with his (lack of) professionalism, attitude, and absent apology. Pat stated that "we do the best that we can do" and that sometimes "$h*t happens." He also described how a staff member did not show up on time (the morning of my wedding) in time to finish my suit. These comments did not rebuild my trust as a customer, and I did not feel the need to take down the review. I felt as though Pat was making excuses and my patronage was not appreciated. A couple months ago I decided to delve into the world of custom clothing and made to measure garments. After a couple web searches I found Seville tailors. I emailed master tailor Cocco and asked him if I could stop by his atelier to meet him and see some garments. We booked a meet and soon thereafter I met Maestro. Master tailor Cocco showed me around his shop and we discussed suiting. It was wonderful to see some garments he and his team made. This is a man with a lifetime of experience. I've since bought my first made to measure dress shirt and I am very pleased with it. At 250$ I think it's an excellent purchase. With masters help we chose a collar that compliments my face, french cuffs with a monogram sewned on it, extra length at the hem to help the shirt remained tucked all day and a wonderful white on white pattern that's made of 100% cotton and breathes well. It's the best fitting dress shirt I have ever owned. I waited about 7 to 10 days. Master treated me very well. I asked many questions and got answers to all of them. This is a man who works almost 7 days a week and responds quickly to emails. Dress shirts 225$ plus tax - suits starting at 1000$ and increases with finer fabrics. Recently I chose a beautiful fabric blend of Italian wool and linen for my first made to measure suit. Cant wait for my first fitting. It's important to remember this is not off the rack garments. If you commission Seville tailors to construct a garment for you - you must be patient. It takes time. Book a consultation with Maestro. Just read Pat's response to my post below. I really dislike people who LIE. You NEVER gifted me a shirt and you would NEVER do such a thing. You were trying to extort me for the price of it and refused to budge even though it's not your specialty which I know now. I still said to proceed at your ludicrous $250 price for something you can't do. There's a difference between slim fit and swimming in a shirt that does not fit. You blew up because you knew you couldn't do it nor wanted to after you saw me swimming in it. So you blew up wanting me to leave and that's what happened. You made the shirt after I picked up my suit which has gone to shit after a few irons now. read more

A year ago I wrote a negative, yet honest review of Seville Tailors and master tailor Pat Cocco. I subsequently removed it at Pats request as I felt bad knowing my negative review may be hurting his business and most importantly his staff's livelihoods. To this day I have yet to receive an apology, thanks for taking it down, or a commitment to improving his business ethics. I'm all for supporting honest, hardworking local businesses but Pat doesn't deserve my support nor anyone else's for that matter until he improves his professionalism and business ethics. He cannot continue to lie to customers about what his staff can achieve. Its not fair to them. They never claimed they could replicate a Tom Ford suit down to the Milanese buttonholes but Pat does. His staff doesn't forget to write down critical information but Pat does. His staff doesn't make excuses when things don't go as scheduled nor provide inaccurate timelines. The list goes on. If you need more confirmation see other reviews. Look at the photo of Ryan Reynolds for proof! Look at his fused jacket billow out at the chest. I'd argue he looks worse now than he did before he put it on. Actually 4.5 stars.....I had been with my previous tailor for about 20 years. When he retired I didn't know if I would find another who made suits truly to fit and who did it in the "old school" way. I looked for a year and found Pat Cocco. He is truly a craftsman and knows how you should look. His suits are of incredible quality and value. Pat is not cheap; but the value is remarkable. A suit or garment that is for you and you alone. I had 4 suits, 2 tuxedos and 4 jackets and 5 pants made. All were of exceptional quality. I highly recommend Pat Cocco. read more

If you are looking for a true bespoke tailor where every detail is obsessed over - this is not it. Pat's suits are made to measure, which may be fine if that's what you are looking for, but I wanted a more personalized experience. The fit of the suit was good, but the shirt ended up being way too big. I didn't argue though. If my tailor thought it was "perfect" as he exclaimed, I didn't want to waste any more time there. You will also not get to choose mother of pearl & bone buttons or silk linings here - you get plastic buttons and polyester. You get the idea. read more
