This message is long overdue. I've been seeing Rachel for the last three years primarily for fertility reasons, but also just because once I started going to acupuncture, I didn't want to stop. I felt so good after every session. Rachel is a warm and attentive listener, who asks the right questions and provides an intuitive level of treatment. I referred a friend to see Rachel and the friend had had a panic attack during acupuncture at a different place and was terrified. Rachel stayed in the room with her during her treatment and literally held her hand so that she could feel calm and safe knowing she had someone there if panic should ensue. Rachel did house calls and endured 30-45 minutes of non-stop chihuahua barking to assist in my quest to get pregnant. Below is a picture of her at my house when I was in labor, trying to get things to speed up, but also aiming for pain relief. If you are looking for a safe and relaxing environment and a warm and competent acupuncturist, I cannot recommend Seven Seas highly enough. read more

Seven Seas Acupuncture - Rachel doing a house call while I'm in labor...and coming face-to-face with an overprotective chihuahua - Acupuncture Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Rachel has been able to help me with severe insomnia when literally nothing else did (and I have tried ALL the medical options!). She is thoughtful, kind, and caring. As a person with multiple chronic illnesses I have seen a huge range of medical and alternative medicine practitioners and rarely have I felt cared for with BOTH astute, rigorous knowledge AND warmth. I am so grateful to have found her. read more

I genuinely feel incredibly lucky that I have met Rachel! She came highly recommended to me after I'd struggled to find a good acupuncturist when I first started the IVF process. Since then, I have continued my treatments because it has become one of my favorite parts of my week! To start, Rachel has genuine warmth and gentleness, she listens to your concerns, and knows exactly what to do to help you. Her extensive knowledge of Chinese medicine and acupuncture allows her to pinpoint exactly where the body needs to heal and could benefit. In our time together, we've worked on IVF, Managing Hormone Stress, Healing Sports Injuries, Stress Management, Post-Surgery Healing, Digestive Issues, and Uterine Health Building. I cannot recommend Rachel and Seven Seas Acupuncture enough if you are looking for a capable, kind, lovely, and experienced acupuncturist. 100 Stars!! read more

I've seen Rachel years, primarily for sports related injuries in my knee and back. More recently, I went to her while pregnant because I was full term and wanted to avoid being induced. Trust is always so important with acupuncture, but I can't stress how *supremely* important it was during my pregnancy and during Covid - and Rachel was amazing. My 3 treatments with her over a week and a half helped me gradually progress towards labor without needing an induction. And she made me feel really safe: she wore two masks, kept a window open, thoroughly cleaned everything before and after my session, and gets tested regularly herself. Since I had my baby, she has also been treating me for carpal tunnel with much success. I would highly recommend her. read more

Rachel is the absolute best. Rachel not only addressed all of my health and physical needs, but she did so with an incredible bedside manner that made me so comfortable and confident. I'm moving to a new state, and it pains me to leave Rachel! read more

Firstly let me reiterate what the other reviewers have said; Rachel is fantastic. My husband and I wanted to start a family straight after getting married, being mid/late 30s I wasn't sure if fertility would be a concern. I thought doing something proactive like acupuncture would alleviate any stress and Rachel was the perfect person for me to see. Supportive and encouraging from our first meeting, she not only performed the acupuncture expertly, she explained the process in detail, recommended reading matter and gave me dietary advice to go alongside the treatments. It was far more than just acupuncture, Rachel's holistic approach and warmth made me look forward to our weekly sessions and it felt like a lifeline as I ventured into this unknown territory. Our daughter Delphine is 6 months old in a few days. I wish I could upload a photo here, she's a peach. I fell pregnant the second month of sessions with Rachel. She tailored sessions to help with any issues I was having during the pregnancy and I had a very positive experience. I continued my sessions right through to the day before I went into labour. The final session got things moving! I can not recommend Rachel highly enough. I wouldn't hesitate to see Rachel again for baby #2. read more

I've gotten a lot of acupuncture over the years and I highly recommend Rachel. Her needling skills are spot on and she gets to the heart of the matter. I feel she has a great understanding of the body and how to treat my complex issues. Rachel also employs other techniques such as cupping, Gua Sha, Tui-Na massage and herbal treatments. She goes above and beyond what I expect from most acupuncturists. What are you waiting for? Make an appointment today! read more

Rachel Esquelin is not only extremely knowledgeable about Chinese medicine, herbology and being an acupuncturist, she is also passionate about what she does. I have experienced relief from conditions such as anxiety, muscle pain, digestive issues, allergies and sinusitis after sessions with Rachel. Rachel offers a variety of treatments other than just acupuncture. Other modalities I have utilized are herbal remedies and also received cupping and Gua Sha (skin scraping). A visit to her clean Union Street office is relaxing and rooms are private. Rachel is always pleasant, listens well and is genuinely concerned. She is extremely professional and is always willing to answer questions and offer information regarding my condition(s). I never have to worry about feeling uncomfortable as Rachel's client. The ease of scheduling an appointment with Rachel's online Genbook appointment scheduling software allows making an appointment convenient anytime. You can also schedule an appointment with her while you are at her office. She does participate with some insurance companies, which is how I found Rachel, and I am so fortunate that I did. I highly recommend Rachel. read more

Rachel has been a lifesaver during my pregnancy! I started coming to Rachel after seeing the incredible results of her acupuncture with my partner's asthma & allergies. During the course of my pregnancy, her acupuncture has supported me through morning sickness, body pains, stress/anxiety, and a breech baby (he turned!!). Rachel brings a holistic perspective to acupuncture and healing and matches it with warmth and thoughtfulness. Her commitment to the practice, her patients and to healing is felt in every session. I can't recommend her practice enough. read more

Rachel is wonderful, the only acupuncturist I would trust and I now see her every week/every two weeks. Seeing her relieves all the stress and pain I go through due to my health condition - and I immediately feel relief almost as soon as I leave. She is kind and patient and really cares about your well being. I really look forward to seeing her weekly. read more

Rachel is AMAZING, kind, knowledgeable and a good listener. I had severe neck and shoulder pain. She was recommended by my neighbor and I was able to see her the same day. Making an appointment (online via her website) was easy and fast. I was able to fill out all paperwork in advance and even check that my insurance would cover the treatment (it did!). She is clearly well-versed in Chinese medicine. She was able to address my pain issues holistically and realistically using acupuncture and another technique called gua sha. We also had time to discuss some overall health issues and resolve them with just some small changes to my lifestyle. I have gotten acupuncture for pain treatment elsewhere in the past but this was so much more. I strongly recommend seeing Rachel for any pain issues. read more

Life changing acupuncturist! Rachel is amazing. Price is right, she has serious knowledge and skills and you feel the effects after one session. I've been seeing her for months after several recommendations and have recommended her to others. She's opening a 2nd office in July. If you want stellar, personalized service, give Seven Seas a try! read more

This practitioner is brilliant. I came in with severe anterior hip pain from a sports injury and from dancing spastically at a wedding. The pain was so intense that I'd developed a pronounced limp. Ibuprofen wasn't touching the pain any longer and of course I had to stop exercising all together. Rachel was recommended by a particularly serene and healthy neighbor who noticed my limp so I thought I'd give acupuncture a try before seeing an orthopedist. I am so glad I did. Rachel was so thorough with the intake; I really felt like Rachel was trying to gather all of the backstory of the condition and its symptoms. It should be noted that Rachel also has a lovely, caring disposition. But really the most salient point of this review is to somehow convey just how keen and, dare I say, creative I sensed this practitioner's choices were with regard to insertion points. Even when Rachel inserted a needle into a typically vulnerable spot on my body, I felt absolutely no pain at the site of insertion. Rather, I felt an utter calm and peace come over me as I could feel energy moving more fluidly though my hip. I have been to six acupuncturists over the course of time and while many of them were talented, Rachel is obviously a genius in this therapeutic modality. When my session was up, I walked out of the office with no limp and only a modicum of the pain I'd come in with. I hadn't realized just how bad the pain had been until I experienced its relief. My neighbor had informed me that Rachel is also a pro at treating certain mental disorders like anxiety and depression. I'm considering visiting Seven Seas for this after I continue with my treatment for my hip injury. I'll update the review after undergoing further treatment. read more

I have received acupuncture treatments from Rachel both regularly and as needed for acute conditions for 18 months. Over the years, I've seen several acupuncturists. Rachel is the one I most highly recommend and continue to see whenever I need treatment because of the efficacy of her treatments. Simply put, I know that she will help me. Rachel is an exceptional healer, I suppose that is why she graduated valedictorian of her class in Acupuncture School. Her vast knowledge of herbs, moxibustion and cupping are apparent in my sessions with her. The conditions that she has helped me with include tension headaches, urinary tract infections, menstrual cramps, and stress. She is also an excellent listener and extremely warm person. read more

I have been seen by a few different practitioners, and I just can't say enough about Rachel. She really looks at your health from a holistic point of view, and is thorough in her questioning. Under Rachel's care, I was able to wean off of anxiety medication, and develop a strong routine of care taking that supported by overall health. I've done a tremendous amount of healing and growth as a direct result of her care. Over the years, Rachel has seen me for sports injuries to stress and anxiety, and everything in between. She gets the bigger picture of health, and helps you along the journey. read more

The reviews are an honest indicator of Rachel's work. I'll be going for my second session today and there is already a very clear improvement in my back, which has been inflamed for months, and basically out of wack from a resurgence of old injuries. Rachel takes the time to address individual needs and looks systemically at what is happening so as to inform her treatment plan. We're starting with basic pain reduction and then will be moving into other underlying concerns. I appreciate her holistic approach and her empathic nature. Highly recommended. read more

I was recommended to Rachel by a friend when I was suffering from an intense case of carpal tunnel syndrome. After one session I felt relief and knew I was in the right place. Rachel is extremely intuitive and as a first timer, I was amazed how much she was able to help so quickly. Rachel is smart, kind, funny and puts my mind at ease every appointment. I am so happy to have found someone so amazing--I can't say enough good things about Rachel and her practice. If you are on the fence about making an appointment / Chinese Medicine, don't be, make an appointment with Rachel and you won't regret it! read more

I consider myself very lucky to have found Rachel and Seven Seas Acupuncture. I've relied on acupuncture for years for many different issues and it can be difficult to find someone who you trust to see the big picture and not just the single symptom. Luckily Rachel does that. She is knowledgeable, gentle and enjoyable to be around. It doesn't get much better. If you're looking to try acupuncture for the first time or your an acupuncture veteran looking for a new location I couldn't recommend Rachel more. read more

Following a herniated disc in my back, I sought many different sources of relief including physical therapy, Pilates, and seeing a DO for alterations. My sessions with Rachel have BY FAR been the most effective treatment for my aches and pains. I should also mention that I have a pathological fear of needles and so this was my first visit to an acupuncturist. I knew I needed to give acupuncture a shot, but I was terrified. Rachel was comforting and calming and I felt at ease right away. I'm now addicted! read more

Words cannot express my gratitude for Rachel! A very skilled practitioner, she works at treating the whole person. After a few months of Rachel's sessions & herbal diet tips, I've been noticing improvements beyond any of my expectations. In addition to finding relief for the depression/anxiety, Rachel has also been improving my digestive system, has reduced my menstrual cramp pain, is working magic on an old shoulder injury, and is such a compassionate pleasure to talk to. I'd recommend Rachel to anyone! read more

Rachel has healed me - and made me a believer in acupuncture. I came to Rachel for several sessions to manage a foot, leg, back issue stemming from Plantar Fasciitis. After a few treatments my foot and leg pain decreased MARKEDLY. A skeptic turned believer. Thanks. read more

I've been seeing Rachel for years now, and this review is long overdue. Rachel is an incredibly compassionate and intuitive practitioner who has helped me in countless ways over the years. I especially appreciate her openness, complete absence of judgment, and her overall presence as a caring and healing practitioner. She has been my go-to acupuncturist in times of need over the years, and I honestly cannot recommend her highly enough! read more

I will start off by saying that I am extremely picky when it comes to doctors.... Rachel is AMAZING! She was helpful from the first conversation I had with her (even before being seen in her office). I went to Rachel after having lower back pain for over 2 months. I had been seen by a chiropractor and was then referred to a pain management doctor and nothing was alleviating the pain I had. Rachel asked me a lot of questions to understand the history of my back problem (I have 2 herniated discs). As this was my first time with acupuncture I had some anxiety about it. She talked me through everything she was doing and was very attentive to how I was feeling. After ONE treatment with her my pain subsided TREMENDOUSLY! After my second treatment I had NO PAIN! She has also treated me for stress and anxiety...She is a genius in what she does!! She has also provided me with a plan towards a healthier lifestyle. I can't express enough how wonderful this doctor is. Not only is she brilliant in this field, her disposition is wonderful to be around! I highly recommend being treated by her. read more

If you are considering acupuncture, I highly recommend putting yourself in the hands of Rachel Esquilin at Seven Seas Acupuncture. She has been helping me with a lower back injury and managing the stress that aggravates my back problem. I have experienced drastic improvements after my sessions with Rachel. There have also been times when I felt I was coming down with a cold or a stomachache and Rachel knew just the treatment and herbs to assist my body in overcoming these germs before I actually got sick. No flu shot needed, just Rachel. To top it off, she is very pleasant to be around and is clearly passionate about the art of healing. Highly recommended! read more

I had never been to an acupuncturist before but Rachel was highly recommended by a coworker so I figured why not... I am so happy that I took that chance and that it was with Rachel! I knew nothing about acupuncture or cupping before going to her. She is so easy to talk to and knowledgable. She made me feel so comfortable with all the techniques we were trying and never made me feel like I was asking too many questions. She really listens to what your needs are. I could not recommend her enough. She really is the best and I don't know what I would do with out her! Seriously! Go make an appointment and you won't regret it! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Rachel Esquilin. I had had a bad experience with acupuncture in the past so I was very nervous and wary - Rachel was very reassuring and accomodated me by using smaller needles and now I cannot wait for my next acupuncture session. I was freaking out because severe muscle tensions was causing tingling in my hands and after just one session I noticed a huge difference! I no longer experience tingling and will definitely be going for a long time. read more

Before coming to Rachel at Seven Seas Acupuncture I had tried acupuncture with other practitioners, but never saw results. I came to Rachel about two years ago because of irregularities with my menstrual cycle and within 3 sessions that I had over 2 1/2 weeks, I had a regular cycle with less PMS than before! Given, the immediate results, I decided to see Rachel regularly. When my husband and I decided to try and have a baby, Rachel worked on my fertility and I got pregnant the very first month we tried. During my pregnancy she would feel my pulse at the beginning of a session and ask me if I was having heart burn or sciatica pain before I had a chance to tell her that I was! Since I began seeing Rachel regularly I have noticed increased energy, significantly fewer migraines, and overall increased sense of well-being. I was recently diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and Rachel has helped put me into endoscopic remission. I can't say enough about Rachel's skill set. She is professional, empathetic, compassionate and her expertise in unparalleled. read more

I had been really ill for three months when I was referred to Rachel at Seven Seas Acupuncture. It has literally changed my life. Their office is in a convenient location and easy to get to, which is really important when you are not feeling well. You get a LOT of personal attention, it never feels rushed, and I always leave there feeling better physically than when I came in. They are also very good at helping you to create a plan to get well, so there is a lot of discussion involved about what the next steps might be and what the big picture is. The treatment itself is professional and the atmosphere is really relaxing. I often fall asleep when I am there. Rachel also follows up on email and really cares and pays attention to her clients. She keeps in touch and answered any questions or concerns I had right away. Another bonus, they have an easy booking system so you can book and cancel appointments on line! So convenient. Go in good health. read more
