This pain had come and gone over the years (most likely due to rheumatoid arthritis) and had currently been with me consistently for the last 9 months. I was assured that the specific pain could be completely eliminated and we could then start working more intently on the root cause of the issues.. I was not sure what to expect but felt comfortable at every step of the process. Mr. Venjara is very professional and knowledgeable and has a calming and caring demeanor. He fully engages me in the treatment plan explaining what he is doing and how it works. He checks in regularly during a treatment to see how I am feeling and makes any adjustments necessary. It is amazing to feel improvements every week in so many ways! The most surprising thing I have found is that not only is the pain GONE and has allowed me to resume my former activities but there are many other pleasant "side effects". Bishara was super approachable and went at my speed. The first few sessions were mild and I wasn't sure what I wanted. But after a couple of months, I could articulate exactly where I wanted the needles for the pain and I started to wake up with NO PAIN or muscle tension. What I loved the most was that he uses a combo of estim and cupping and heat. All of that improved my circulation immensely. I had to pay out of pocket for this because my insurance doesn't cover it, and the hourly rate was reasonable (not cheap, but not exorbitant for NYC standards). The remainder of your 30-minute visit will be someone watching you do exercises. The "doctor" diagnosed me with some chiropractic nonsense and proceeded to give me adjustments for several visits. Once diagnosed by an actual real doctor, my diagnosis was herniated discs and those adjustments were only making my situation worse. They have someone on staff full-time whose job it is to look into how much they can charge your insurance company so they can charge you the maximum. For my initial 45-minute visit they charged my insurance company $800. Do yourself a favor: see a real doctor in an actual medical office.

I had no acupuncture experience at all until November 2023 when I began experiencing physical anxiety symptoms that I never had before (it felt like my heart was being tickled, I felt faint, and almost nauseous for days at a time, it was hard to describe to others aside from just being able to feel my heart in a way I hadn't before and it was uncomfortable). I had a complete cardio workup and everything looked good so I decided to give acupuncture a try. Rez made me feel comfortable during our consultation before selling me on a treatment of 10 sessions. It really doesn't make sense to begin this treatment (though a one-off might be relaxing) unless you can commit to a full treatment. I worked with her from November to June, eventually tapering off to every two weeks. I have been doing other things as well (new therapist, group therapy) but I believe the wellness I feel now is definitely in part due to sitting with Rez and all of the lovely folks who work there. Definitely a culturally competent group in terms of sexual orientation, race, and gender identity. They remember me and you can tell they treat everyone there well and with respect; it's a nice community . Superbills and documentation provided quickly and I liked having reminder texts about my appointments. I haven't had an anxiety episode like that in months and I just feel like I can handle things better and am way less overwhelmed. For overprocessors like me (see the length of this message for proof) you should try working with these folks to take a different route to healing and learning.
