BED BUGS - do NOT stay here. Owner is very unfriendly and refused to do anything about the bed bug issue.

THE RECEPTIONIST CHRISTIAN ATTEMPTED TO RECORD ME SEXUALLY WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE DURING MY STAY!!!!…read more I booked a 2-night stay here and had an extremely disturbing and traumatic experience. After checking in and exiting the hostel to get dinner, I was approached by a staff member, Christian, who initially engaged in friendly conversation but quickly made inappropriate and invasive remarks, such as asking if I use Grindr, if I "like Italian men," and if I'm gay. Despite feeling uncomfortable, I felt pressured to respond. Later, he invited me to a club in Sorrento, which I reluctantly agreed to. While at the club, he violated my privacy by entering the restroom uninvited and took me to his apartment while I was blacking out. It was at this point that he took advantage of me and attempted to record intimate moments without my consent. I demanded he delete the footage and ultimately had to involve the police. For my safety, I was forced to leave the hostel and book an emergency stay at a nearby hotel, incurring additional expenses. I was also appalled when I reported this incident to the management, including the general manager, they showed no empathy and refused to provide any assistance or even a refund and have the audacity to tell me to talk to him directly.. I'm appalled by their lack of accountability and unwillingness to address such a serious situation. This hostel is unsafe, and poorly run. Avoid it

My husband and I had a very pleasant stay at the Ulisse Deluxe Hostel during our honeymoon in…read moreItaly. The hotel staff were incredibly professional, helpful, and accommodating. Since we booked online in advance we weren't sure what to expect, but we were very happy with the location and quality of the hotel. We stayed in an upgraded room with two queen beds and a view of the cliffs. The hotel is at street level and the parking garage is on top, so there are no rooms with a view of the sea but the cliffside is quite nice. After staying in Rome where the hotel rooms are quite tiny, we were amazed with how spacious the bedroom and bathroom area were! The housekeeping staff were quite thorough: even our pillow cases were changed daily and replaced with a freshly ironed one. The breakfast spread was quite impressive and offered something for everyone: eggs, assorted fresh pastries, slices of meats and cheeses, bread rolls and croissants, yogurt and muesli, and fresh fruit. The fresh juice dispensers offered interesting flavors: blood orange, strawberry, and others. They also offered still or sparkling bottled water for travelers that are not accustomed to the water in Italy (usually tap water is to be avoided to prevent getting sick). The location is great - just a short 10-15 minute walk from the train station and you pass through the quaint downtown area on your way. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby. The front desk made some fantastic recommendations and helped make reservations for us. All in all, this is a great hotel for the price and much, much more than you would expect with "hostel" in the name. Sure, it's not a Kimpton Hotel or traditional 5-star hotel, but this is a great hotel for travelers looking for an affordable hotel in Sorrento.

Modern, sleek, hip and spacious suites that are reasonably priced and centrally located in…read moreSorrento. We were housed in the room number 1 and it was exceptional. For two, it is almost too much space as you'll even have a couch to lounge on and a queen size bed. The sheets and bedding themselves were spotless and comfortable. You'll have a clear, modern-ish desk to do all your travel planning. It is complete with a directory and mini-bar underneath should you needed to imbibe while jotting down travel notes. One thing I really liked was the ability to open the window that has a small balcony facing the hustle and bustle of the street of Corso Italia. A great people-watching opportunity. Best thing is once the window is closed, you barely hear the noise and commotion. That said, I slept very well. Another neat feature of the hotel room is the Samsung TV in both the bedroom and the bathroom. Both feature their "Sky" TV system and that means a whole lot of channels. Being from the States, it was nice that I was able to watch NFL football too! Speaking of the bathroom, it was very contemporary. The shower/bath has its own retractable showerhead system and that meant getting very clean. It is also a spacious bathroom too. It being located on one of the busier streets of the area is actually a plus as you'll find a Supermercati Deco and other small shops only a few steps away. Perfect if you need to stock up on necessities like water bottles. If you exit and head right from Palazzo Abagnale you'll end up in the town square which is the gateway to a lot of incredible small shops and stores. I bought most of the souvenirs from these narrow streets and you'll find great deals on everything. Don't forget to stop for gelato, there is one of the best gelato places I've ever been to called Raki. If you exit and head right and then down the steep steps towards the ocean shore, you'll be able to experience the Sorrento coast. There you'll find boats waiting to take you to explore the rest of the South of Italy. A perfect docking point which is another reason staying at Palazzo Abagnale is worth it. Another reason to stay at Palazzo Abagnale is for their included breakfast. For weary or time-sensitive travelers, being able to get up and grab a quick bite right outside your room door was a huge benefit. At breakfast you'll find various packaged cookies but also warm pastries, fruits, hard boiled eggs, and sliced meats. You'll even have blood orange juice and you can have the waitress fix you up an espresso. I really liked the breakfast and as far as hotel breakfasts go, it was pretty spot on. What I also noticed at breakfast is the amount of tourists that come to Palazzo Abagnale. Whether it is from the States or other countries, I think it speaks to the hotel's welcoming nature and comfortable amenities that keeps travelers coming back. Plus the location really is fantastic. If you're looking for something more sleek, hip, and colorful than the run-of-the-mill cramped hotels or hostels, I think Palazzo Abagnale and their suites and reasonable rates is your cup of tea.
