We stayed here for one night during a family trip through Europe. It was a nice place with a nice location and beautiful views right outside the front door. I'd recommend it but there are many lovely places to choose from, I'd look around as well. Kind of a busy area too, with a lot of street peddlers selling an assortment of touristy junk nearby, so keep that in mind.

Wonderful location on the shore of naples with beautiful views. Rooms are reasonably priced. Check in is at 1500 which kinda stunk since I got in so early but there were nice couches in the lobby to wait in until the room was ready. Bar has a nice selection. Breakfast is american and included with room price. My second time back and will come again!

My brother and I stayed at this place for a week in January. The hotel is clean, inviting and has a great staff. They have a complementary morning breakfast and nice size rooms. There is a mini fridge in the room along with a tub and bidet. The tub is narrow with a sloped floor, which made showering treacherous. The doors to our room were very hard to open. Castel dell'Ovo is a short walk with great views of Mt. Vesuvius along with restaurants and street vendors. We found the Mezzanine Restaurant very good for dinner. My bon vivant brother said the pasta vologne was excellent, so definitely check out that area. They have a complimentary no frills breakfast with fruit salad, pastries, cereals, cakes and coffee (expresso and cappuccino too.) I had my favorite granola, fruit and yogurt mix which was great. My biggest complaint was the so-called 'high-speed' Wi-Fi, which was either nonexistent or slower than a pigeon with a broken wing. Multiple complaints failed to fix the problem. My brother had a handicap-accessible room but unfortunately the heat would not turn off and the temperature stayed above 90°. For some reason this could not be fixed during our stay and they gave him another room to sleep in, but he had to go back to the original room to take a shower. Again, not sure if this is an Italian thing or why things take a week or two to get fixed. Room tip: Make sure you have access to an eSIM or SIM for Internet. We used Holafly which worked well (much faster and more reliable than the hotel WiFi), with unlimited data for $19/5 or $34/10 days.

I do recommend this hotel as it's in a good location and the views of the sea in Mount Vesuvius are stunning. The hotel, however, is long overdue for a refresh remodeling because the rooms are very outdated in the bathrooms seem like they're from another century. The bathtubs are high up on a platform so you have to climb up to get in the tub to take a shower and you're lucky if you don't break your neck trying to take a shower because the tubs are so narrow and it's just unbelievable. The staff there is fantastic. Front desk, valet, wait staff, It doesn't get better. We actually had one of our best meals in the restaurant there.

Gate 1 chose this hotel for us to stay during 14 day trip of Italy. The location is beautiful overlooking the Bay of Naples. We arrived in late May and it was already quite hot so we were excited there was a pool here again, however they decided not to open it yet! Pity... I saw the picture of the beautiful views there as well. We had every breakfast here in the morning and the selection was decent. Nothing amazing. They had a nice variety of pastries that we indulged in every morning. We also had 2 dinners. Everything was served in the fish bowl style restaurant overlooking the bay. When we arrived the room was the typical standard room and twin beds. Not sure whose fault it was but we had to request for them to put the beds together and fix the weak AC since I was traveling with my husband. I'm going to err on the side and say it was Gate 1's mistake since we filled out a sheet specifically to the Tour Manager indicating room set up preference. One big issue we had was with the tub/shower combo. This style is common in Europe and the floating glass pain is a pain. Instead of having it locked in place it would slip out of place and it would cause your bathroom to flood instantly as you're showering! Way more details about Naples: http://tinyurl.com/RBHNapoli

Just checking in and I'm very satisfied with my view. The room is clean, bathroom much bigger than my hotel on Montecatini Terme. I can't wait to further explore this place. Oh lastly, my room has a balcony view can't wait to hang out on it.

A decent hotel situated in a prime location on the waterfront. Friendly staff and an efficient check in and check out made the admin side of the stay hassle free. The fitness centre was more like a fitness room, with no towels and some equipment not working. Pool hours were varied. A comfortable room and amenities you'd expect from a hotel of this caliber.

The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. The hotel is also right on the coast which makes for a great view. The room we were given at check in, had an issue with the toilet being bolted securely to the ground. After alerting staff of this, we were immediately upgraded to a room with a great view and a little more space. The complimentary breakfast that the hotel offers is a standard buffet breakfast that is a great addition. The reason for the four stars is the bathroom. The shower has an awful layout. Essentially there is no shower curtain or shower door to keep the water in while showering, so the floor becomes a swimming pool while you shower. We had to cover the floor in towels every time we needed to shower because we knew it was going to be a mess.

One is too generous for this shit hole! In my entire life I have never been this disgusted by a place I want to take a bleach bath after touching anything in this place! Whoever gave them a good review must have never stayed in a good hotel! The bathroom smelled like fresh pee! AC was broken they had to come fix it! There was sand and rocks in the bed which sheets had to be changed.. I am not sure if the shower made me cleaner or I walked out with 10 mold strains! STAY AWAY! We almost overlooked the $240 per night we paid hotels.com and went to a new hotel which I wish we woulda done!

A fine barolo from our Seaview room.

It has since become more of a rough around the edges faulty towers-style hotel than a luxury hotel ... but the location is fantastic for drivers. While the Spanish Quarter is grittier and cooler ... good luck driving through the narrow, packed streets with Vespas whizzing by. If you have a car, do yourself a favor and stay here. You won't be without traffic stress here ... to get in, there is a section where 3 lanes merge into one and then bend around a corner. There are Africans selling packages of tissues or squeegy guys trying to clean your windshield who will not take no for an answer and can be annoying and scary. But, once you get in front of the hotel ... there is no valet, or person to assist with bags. You pull up in front of the hotel and drag your bags up the steps ... only then will someone run over and take your bag. They do not have a garage but there is a person in the lobby who takes your keys to their nearby garage. They give you an estimate of how much your car will cost per day to park. (Ours was $30.) Of course, upon picking up the car they insisted on $40. Welcome to Naples where tourists are marks to be fleeced repeatedly and taken advantage of. My advice is to get in writing how much the car will cost to park. Also, be prepared for the garage attendant to demand a top on top of the fee. It is still worth it not to have to drive in the actual city, though. The front desk staff were abrupt and to the point. Not very friendly, or warm. However, they were efficient. We asked for a room upgrade because it was a special occasion but they said that they don't do that. We were given the keys to our room and escorted up by a bellman with our bags, even though we said we could manage our single suitcase by ourselves. More tips. The room was small and spartan and old fashioned looking ... if you were filming a movie set in the 1950's or 1960's, you wouldn't have to do much set dressing. We had the standard room ... which meant the window faced an inner tunnel with no view and very little natural light. I imagine those with balcony rooms, or rooms which face the water, would be less dreary. The bathroom was nicer than we expected and, though not luxurious by any means, the shower pressure and hot water was good. The bathroom was all marble, so any sounds made could easily be heard in the room, even with a closed door. The bath products were terrible and cheap. There was plenty of storage space in the closets ... more than most hotel rooms of this size and a well-organized shelving system. The bed was not incredibly comfortable because it was two twin beds pushed together. We could feel the crack while we slept. Also, only two flat pillows were given and the towels were old and rough. The maroon wallpaper and lack of natural light added to the dreariness of the room ... but I will say that, although the room was small, it was laid out decently. The location is great! There are less scary people in this area ... and a lot of the nearby restaurants and shops are upscale. We felt like if we had a family with kids, this would be an ideal and safe location. You can easily walk to the downtown areas ... it is a 20 - 30 minute walk, but on a weekend, we felt safe-ish and in the morning, I walked to the Spanish Quarter for photography with no issues. There is a beautiful roof deck, which was unfortunately closed for a wedding while we were there. This is the only feature of the hotel which felt like a luxury ... amazing views of Vesuvius and the water. I am not sure what this is used for when not being used for weddings ... but we would certainly have a few drinks there, if it was a bar. Overall, the grand has faded from this hotel ... but it is still a solid option for an overnight stay in Naples, or if you want to be close to the waterfront/cruise docks.

Since we were celebrating our honeymoon, we were upgraded to a room with a beautiful view of the water. We were very impressed with how clean the room was. On the occasion of our anniversary, the hotel also provided complimentary champagne. Everything about the room was perfect. We highly appreciated that the hotel staff went the extra mile to make us feel special. We also really liked the location of this hotel as it was close to all the happening areas. The next day, we had a complimentary breakfast at the hotel. They had a wide range of food options with a buffet service coupled with à la carte breakfast dishes. They offered different types of cheese, breads, and more. I got the avocado toast, and my husband got an omelette. The food was delicious and fresh, and we also tried a couple of Italian snacks, which were delightful. All in all, we had a great time. The rooms are nice, and I really enjoyed just lounging around all the pretty areas near the courtyard, or looking out my window before bed at the courtyard view. The morning breakfast was good and served in the beautiful inner courtyard. As always in Italy, coffee is delicious and the baked goods were a sinful way to wake up. The reception staff was very helpful and polite and so so nice anytime I asked them for anything. They gave me a good map and advice for the best way to get to the best pizza in town:) Location wise, it's about a 12-15 minute walk from the Termini, and with very heavy baggage and tiny, bustling streets full of people and traffic, it can be a little taxing to walk up there in the blistering heat. You could take a taxi if you wanted, but if you have time and a map of the tiny streets, it's not far at all. It's also an easy 10 min walk to some of Napoli's famous pizzerias, including the one from Eat, Pray, Love, called Da Michele. Beware, it is a crazy walk through tiny streets filled with people intent on walking very slowly while they talk very loudly, and scooters coming out of nowhere from round the corner, or buckets being lowered from high windows to people ambling by. Haha but that's Napoli and if you brave it you, you will get to eat delicious pizza (or go wherever it is you're going). While I stayed, they did host a wedding in the courtyard, and because of the wedding there were some disgruntled guests who couldn't get a drink at the bar because there was no barman for for than half an hour. An enterprising American tourist went and got her own just as the barman got back haha and told him not to bother himself in a very efficient way as old ladies do.
