I had an hour meeting with her over VVC. The first comment out of her mouth is that she accused me of changing my story. Of course I did. Because of her I lost my rating and now have to fight to continue to get treatment. ** I read her reply. I reviewed her comments again with MY VA social worker who has worked with me over a year. We both feel that she could not have completed any forensic investigations on my case. She clearly would have see my notes, my social worker notes and all VA programs I was involved in for MST/PTSD.**

Upon meeting her in person for the first time, I knew right away that she was the ideal therapist to help me overcome my obstacles so that I can reach my personal and professional goals because she made me feel safe and supported while being in her presence. I was really drawn to the Parts and Memory Therapy and Hypnotherapy modalities that she provides. Whitney is so creative in the way she weaves together different therapy and mental restructuring techniques. Her approach to healing feels grounded and free flowing at the same time. She has me use my creative imagination during our sessions together which makes therapy feel fun, and not at all like a chore. Not only has Whitney helped me overcome many obstacles surrounding my limiting beliefs in different areas of my life, she is also helping me with the rebuilding of the new life I envision for myself. She has implemented various coaching strategies to help keep me focused and organized with the goals that surround my career. She is helping me reinforce the new identify that I am creating for myself that is rooted in empathy, authenticity and professionalism. Before meeting Whitney, I had completely written off therapy. I'd had multiple experiences in the…read morepast that just didn't feel helpful. But working with Whitney has been a game-changer. What I love most is her ability to reframe situations in a way that creates an immediate shift in my perspective. She's warm and empathetic--like a trusted friend--yet always professional and grounded. I've especially loved working on parts work with her--she has truly mastered this process. Through these sessions, I've found a deeper sense of peace and gained greater awareness of my anxious tendencies that have held me back. Whitney has helped me dismantle these patterns, allowing me to move forward with more clarity and confidence. Whitney has completely transformed how I view therapy and how I see my own emotional tendencies. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a smart, dedicated, and open-minded practitioner.

11/10 WOULD RECOMMEND! Starting with Lisa has been by far one of the best decisions I have ever…read moremade in my life, and I've been seeing her for around a decade now. Wow, time flies! Originally I was looking for counseling to help me navigate my feelings around my mom with ALS, with whom I didn't have a good relationship, and since then, she has helped me grow into such a calm, collected, understanding, and strong person. I'd always considered myself strong, but I was very closed off from certain feelings. I can now feel all the things that arise and not be debilitated by them, including the overwhelming empathy I used to have. I can sit comfortably with people I don't agree with, I've learned the power of listening over simply talking, my marriage is absolutely incredible despite serious health challenges and other things life throws, and I am a truly optimistic person now rather than being more of a "realist" who focused more on possible negative outcomes. Life feels fuller, my career(s) keep evolving into better things, and even when I'm not struggling with any issues actively, I still love to have a session and reflect on the current state of life or possible future goals. Traditional counseling has served me decently in the past, but Lisa is 100x better for me since we can mix in everything from things like grief processing and inner child work, to career goals, to spiritual practice. I've never felt like anything off limits and I've never ever felt judged, even when I was so much less emotionally mature early on. If you want to truly transform, I cannot recommend working with Lisa enough!

Lisa Ulshafer has been my life coach and mentor on and off for two years now. I have coached…read moreone-on-one with her, taken her amazingly helpful and engaging online course, and participated in a fantastic workshop she is involved with. The profound sense of gratitude, joy and happiness that I now often experience is credited to her guidance, intuition, and expertise. I am experiencing a sense of well-being that I can't ever remember feeling before. My external life is changing. I have better, healthier relationships, I am more connected and HAPPY. Of course, there will always be things out of my control, but my response and my attitude towards these things has shifted immensely. With Lisa's help, I am building a powerful resiliency and confidence in my own wisdom to help me ride the waves when they come. Maybe it didn't seem like it from the outside, but I was living in the world and always feeling like something was wrong, that I wasn't where I needed to be, that I had to get somewhere else, do something else, be more, and have more...more experiences, more achievements, more love. I enjoy achievement, but my intention was often rooted in a deep sense of unworthiness. I carried a tight anxiety in my chest that almost called forth more fear, and this deeply impacted my ability to feel a sense of lasting peace or joy. These moments were certainly there, but they were fleeting, and I found myself refocusing on the negative. My 'baseline' typically returned to seeking and feeling unsettled. Now, I feel joyful often. I feel like I have a new 'set point'. I have a respect and appreciation for the impact of the past, feel enormous gratitude for all of the blessings that I have today, and I have an excitement about what lies ahead. I'm moving forward and creating a life-by-design that is connected to a higher purpose and supported by a foundation of developing self-worth. How can a 'Thank you' ever encompass the gratitude I have for all of this? You are an (literal) angel, Lisa.
