I've experienced Fay's sound baths and mindfulness practices in a few different settings, and what consistently stands out to me is how intentional and present she is as a facilitator. I often arrive with what I'd call "monkey mind", an active to-do list running, lots of thoughts moving at once. Fay's use of sound instruments, her soothing voice, thoughtfully chosen music, and gentle affirmations help bring me back into my body and into the present moment. She weaves in breathwork in a way that feels natural and grounding, and her pacing, pauses, and overall presence create a sense of calm that I can feel both during and after the session. By the end, my mind is quieter, I feel more relaxed, and much more centered. What I especially appreciate about Fay is how she truly curates her sessions for the audience in the room. As a woman of color, I value that she incorporates music and elements that speak to me culturally and emotionally. She has a real ability to read the room and adjust in the moment, offering what feels needed rather than delivering a one-size-fits-all experience. That level of attunement is rare. Trust is important to me in these kinds of spaces, and Fay has built that through her authenticity. Her openness and vulnerability, both in conversation and in what she shares through her writing and social media, make her feel very human and approachable. She also has a great sense of humor and doesn't let ego get in the way, even when unexpected distractions come up. If I could give zero stars I would. So i suffered a severe traumatic event feb 1, 2022 Which uprooted my entire life and my entire future has been changed and in disarray and I'm having to regroup reorganizing and get back into the groove of life I guess you could say. (Long story shortish) I found my fiancé in our house he had committed suicide. I'll leave it there but there are no words to describe the feelings that I have and I hope nobody ever has to deal with this ever it's tragic and terrible and like I said no words!! -So I arrive I'm doing the paperwork she comes out to get me I wasn't done but I really was and am so scattered I needed to just get back there and start my session because I was about to have a breakdown in the waiting room. As we start she's pushing paperwork in my face trying to get me to initial this and that and like that's fine and all but I mean it could've waited a few minutes you know before introductions even but whatever so I finish that so she heard nothing of what I had said. -she said "do u believe in God"? I say " right now I'd rather not bring God into this whether I believe or not I don't wanna talk about God" so she did it again and then another time and I almost got up and left but Instead i said "I need you to stop talking about God because I told you to stop twice and now it's the third time and I'm not here for that" I said "whether I believe or not it doesn't matter, my fiancé believed and that's all that matters but I'm not there yet and I don't want to talk about it so I need you to stop" i was raging mad and felt it was very unprofessional, disrespectful& rude I didn't appreciate her! Seriously going to Sheri was like traumatizing in itself so i felt worse when i left. I just have a hard time believing that therapists and psychologist can be so inconsiderate and uncaring. I mean I think she probably did the best she knew out but I made the appointment and I thought I was getting someone who specializes in PTSD and trauma when I come to find out later that she is an intern for marriage and family therapy! --so whoever made the appointment led me in the wrong direction and instead of Sheri taking some ETHICAL responsibility saying maybe I'm not the right therapist for you we should stop and let me find somebody else who can possibly help she kept going and made it worse and then i paid cash I asked if there was a cash discount, I figured I'd ask. She had to ask her supervisor so she took $100 dollars sent me my receipt and said oh I forgot to hug I'll ask for next time! Needless to say I won't be going back and I do not recommend them.
