I found this spa via a Groupon to try it out as a possible new place for massages and related spa…read moreservices. Note: This business is housed in the same space as Karina's Beauty Spa in Suite #502. Upon check-in, the Grinch-green hair dyed receptionist (wearing a Karina's Beauty Spa badge) was on her cell phone. When I walked up to check in, she couldn't be bothered to put her phone down. She dryly asked if I was there for Comfort Spas. When I replied in the affirmative, she said someone would be with me shortly. The receptionist immediately went back to her phone. However, when a guest arrived for Karina's Beauty Spa, the receptionist immediately put her phone down and perked right up. Clearly, she has no interest in guests of Comfort Spas. Per the website, I arrived 15 minutes early. I sat in the waiting area the entire 15 minutes before the Comfort Spas masseuse greeted me, on her way in from a quick run to CVS. Just before getting started, the masseuse (named Jasmine) asked if I had any pain or other problem areas. While this question may seem like a good one to ask objectively, it let me know that Jasmine had clearly failed to review the required form that I spent 20 minutes completing via her online portal. Seriously , if you have a form as a requirement, then it should be the foundation for discussion with a new client... I purchased a 90-minute hot stone/deep tissue massage. Jasmine was a pleasant person, with generally good technique but she lacked the finesse and strength of more seasoned people who do massages. The room was relatively small and cold. Plus, unlike all past experiences I've had, Jasmine did not use heated oils/lotions. Instead, she used VERY COLD lotion which was anything but relaxing. Quite jarring with each touch. Additionally, she used disposable gloves, so the lotion never had a chance to be warmed in her hands. When Jasmine asked about the pressure, I let her know that I'd like it stronger. Yet, she was not able to sustain anything more than a very light massage. The hot stone portion (used exclusively at the neck and back area) was just ok. Stone use was really just an "honorable mention" since they were used less than 5 minutes out of the 90 minute massage. In my past experiences, the stones have been aligned along the spine and allowed to heat any trouble area(s). The Waiting area décor was aesthetically pleasing, and scented with a candle. The music and colors are calming and help to usher in relaxation. However, the loud ticking clock is not conducive to relaxation. Overall, if you're a person accustomed to stronger massages, you may want to look elsewhere. However, if you like a very light touch then this may be for you.

She should have fixed it prior to taking appointments. The scrub was just a glove that exfoliated and not a real scrub. It is extremely hard to make an appointment. You can't physically call or ask questions. The massage was ok once i was on my back and didn't need the head rest. I Don't recommend this place. They need to get more professional. The room was cold. The little heater helped some but not the type of massage in use to. Wasn't offered even a sip of water or tea like normal places after the massage.

I made a New Year's resolution to make self-care a priority by having a massage from time to time…read more However, I've always thought of them as a special occasion item and sort of out of my budget. I remember a friend told me about this place, years ago - that you can get an affordable massage done by students in training. I went to the website, scheduled the appointment and I am so glad I gave them a try!! Since they are students, you may get a different person each time - and that is fine with me. I've been two times and each visit was great. They were professional, they asked me questions and asked if I needed attention to specific areas and they ask if you need more or less pressure. I have a sedentary job and carry tension in my neck and back so I asked for attention to those areas. My first massage was done in Feb 2022 and the cost was $35 cash. The pricing has since increased and its now $40 cash. You must bring cash. I also brought enough for a tip as well. I recommend this facility for a massage because they are very personable, they ask how you are doing and provide excellent instructions and take care of you.

WOW!!...Pretty much sums up my first experience and visit to the Northern Virginia School of…read moreTherapeutic Massage! The students are so intentional and caring with their massages. Everyone here is so friendly, welcoming, and the massage I received was amazing!! I'll start with the facility. Although a little difficult to find from the street, once you enter the space you immediately feel the serenity. The waiting area is bright, comfortable, clean and relaxing. The massage areas and spaces are tranquil and comfortable as well. The format is simple: Arrive for your appointment. Check-in at the front desk. Just tell your therapist what you came for, and they will take care of the rest! And, let's not mention...the price for a hour session is only $35!!....more than reasonable!!! The massage sessions are provided by the students as part of their work toward completing their clinical hours for massage school. From the moment I stepped through their doors....to the moment of meeting my therapist for the day....and finally, leaving...."EVERYTHING" was top-notch and professional. My therapist name was Stacy and she was outstanding! She was very focused and attentive. She had great technique and knew exactly when to variate the pressure to rid some of the most pesky knots that often trouble me after heavy workout days or my crossfit classes. I walked in like the "Tin-Man"--stiff as a board, with a tense headache and a couple bad sore-spots....but, walked out feeling completely renewed and so relaxed. I would say the quality of the massage was just as good as any professional one I've gotten. In all, I must admit I was skeptical, but made a believer! I will definitely be a regular and have already scheduled my next visit. Highly recommend!
