This is hands down my absolute favorite store for all things health and wellness related ... food, snacks, weekend breakfast , packaged vegan food, shea butter, hair oil, BODY oil, incense ... all the things! Located in Little Five Points, this ATL staple is convenient to a quaint neighborhood for shopping, dining, people watching and Atlanta culture immersion. The hot bar is phenomenal - unmatched. I particularly love the spelt biscuits from the weekend breakfast bar. The grits and tofu scramble are also good. If you're familiar with and love Tassili's, but don't love the wait, you can pick up the wraps here as well. And if you're feeling fancy - wanting to try some vegan, premade meals, take a look in the refrigerated case for everything from kale salads, chia pudding, kelp noodles, and vegan spaghetti to sprouted quinoa, collard greens, vegan shrimp and vegan Mac and cheese. I am writing this review to share my dissatisfaction regarding the lack of professionalism, horrible customer service, and rudeness displayed by the young cashiers and the male customer services worker at Sevananda over the past couple of months. First, let me preface by stating that I had been a consistent weekly customer that made significant purchases. When entering the store, you may or may not be greeted, which was customary a year ago. The male customer services person with a stocky build is extremely unprofessional. I encountered a rude interaction with one of the cashiers who was dismissive. arrogant, and rude when I was attempting to have a cordial conversation. This never would have happened last year with the previous customer services manager. I went to the current male customer services manager to express my concern about Renee's rude attitude. This manager's first comment to me was "What's up?!" I looked at him in disbelief and immediately responded, "That's completely inappropriate. I am a customer. This is a business interaction, not a social interaction." He then apologized. I explained to him about Renee's dismissive and rude demeanor and wanted to write a complaint. I asked for a complaint card. He handed me two postcards to write my complaint on the back. That was completely unprofessional. After I wrote my complaint and submitted it with my contact information, nothing was done. There was no follow up nor apology. I returned to the store on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, after two weeks and saw that the situation has worsened. The young cashiers were dancing and talking loudly as if in a club setting. The customer services manager joined in the melee. He was a very active participant. Horrific! I own several businesses and had wanted to support Sevananda since it's a community co op. However, I am no longer interested in supporting this business given the lack of professional decorum, arrogance, lack of business etiquette and lack of respect for loyal customers. In talking to my friends, many no longer frequent this store for the very same reasons. In closing, I I submitted my complaint to the Sevananda email and to the contact [age on their website over a week ago with my contact information. Per usual, no one contacted me via phone nor email. The professional decorum, etiquette, and common courtesy and respect are now things of the past with this current customer services manager and the cashiers. This store truly felt like a one stop shop for healing and wellness, both internally and externally. If you prefer a more holistic approach to eating, drinking, and overall self care, this place is absolutely worth visiting. They had an impressive selection of products, from wellness drinks and healthy snacks to skincare, body care, and oils for skin and hair. Everything felt thoughtfully curated. One of the main reasons I stopped in was for sea moss, and they had great options available. I also picked up some healthy snacks while I was there and was not disappointed at all. I was only visiting the area, but this is definitely a store I would return to. The only downside was timing. I wish I had more time to browse because I had to rush in and out as they were close to closing. Their hours are something to be mindful of if you want to take your time exploring everything they offer. Parking was very easy since they have their own lot connected to the store. Because it was midweek and close to closing time, it was not busy at all, which made for a calm and easy shopping experience. Overall, this is a great spot for anyone looking to support their wellness journey with quality, holistic products. I just wish I had more time there and will plan better next visit. As far as pricing point, I would say it is you know comparable to a Whole Foods or a sprouts so if you are more of a bargain shopper, this may not be ideal for you although some things were priced well like some of their skin care I felt like you know may have been definitely compared to like market value. read more

DO NOT purchase anything from Sevananda unless you open it before walking out the store. I purchase Shilajit for my husband. I decided I wanted to try this one out today. Different brand . Spoke to assistant manager Dave that could not make a sound customer service decision other than ALL of them come in a small jar product a tablespoon. Approximately $40 for a tablespoon and unfortunately Dave the manager didnt have qualifications to know he should have did better. Shop there but don't leave until you open your product. read more

After friend of my husband's recommended this store to us and it was everything they said it was. We had driven up on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy. The parking lot is very small and extremely tight. The store is well laid out and they had a very nice selection of items. Our main reason for going was to get some Cha Water and we grabbed a few other things. Went back the next morning closer to opening and was able to explore more of the store and buying even more items. We will definitely be returning! read more

An independent health food store of old with a large bulk bin section, Sevananda has been there since 1974, way before Whole Foods, when vegetarianism meant thick pieces of brown bread, which were hard to swallow, and fake meat products that wouldn't fool anyone. I wasn't around town in the '70s, but first went there about twenty years ago. It's a good place to find ingredients that you would otherwise have to travel to a distant ethnic grocery store to find, like the other day I was looking for cumin seeds and Sevananda had them in the bulk bin section. They play groovy music and it's also a fine place to have a healthy quick lunch with prices, which are perhaps slightly lower than other health food stores. read more

Love this market! Sevenada offers lots of different vegan brands and is my go to for staples. Also, they have vegan breakfast at their hot bar until noon and then lunch/dinner after that. I took off two stars because of the horrendous parking. Half of the parking lot is gated off and at peak times customers are double parking in the lot or having to turn around on Moreland Ave which is very dangerous. Once they sort of the parking situation and open the lot up fully, they would easily receive a 5 star rating. read more

Horrible service. If you're even able to get a space in their minuscule parking lot, you're lucky. Took me twenty minutes to find a spot. Spent a ridiculous amount of money on basic, simple items that are not unique to natural type stores. Wish I had just gone to Kroger. The cashiers here do not know how to communicate. Waited for another twenty minutes as the guy checking people out walked away, again, not saying why. He apparently went to get more change for cash. We all just stood there not knowing what was going on. A manager opens another register, but instead of inviting over the people towards the front of the two lines that had been waiting, she permitted the people standing at the back of the line to have their turns first. We remained standing there for another ten minutes. It's fine that they offer the products they do. But without customer service, people will drive to Whole Foods. Love this store, just wish parking weren't such an absolute nightmare. There are not enough spots for the store and it makes getting in and out really tough, plus the parking lot employees yell at you and are generally unfriendly. I have always wondered why the empty, fenced-off section in the back isn't opened up to help with this. I use to shop here during my college days & now that I'm back in town for a while I have returned more frequently. In addition to the grocery aspect, there's a Hot Bar & Wellness Department that is expansive. The kitchen is vegetarian as everything is prepared naturally & free from artificial ingredients - many items are vegan or gluten-free. The Salad Bar is still closed due to C-19 - Grab & Go is available. There are pet supplies as well. Most of my favorite go-to items have a slight price increase than usual, yet I don't mind due to the community market vibrations. On my last visit to shop for holiday dinner, I joined the Co-Op initiative, I got 5 shares for $120. Applauding for their mission to source products = food integrity. One of the few places in Atlanta that carry Superior Crack Smoked Sea Salt and it is delicious. I grab two bottles cause it's the only salt I use. I hope they start carrying Superior Crack Blackish Pepper. The products they carry are mostly local and exclusive, very similar to that of Trader Joe's but better. I love it here. read more

This store screams " LET ME GET MY HEALTH TOGETHER " as soon as you walk in. Shopping at your typical stores like the Walmarts, Publix, your Food Depot 's etc. you instantly feel as your lifestyle has went from not caring about what you consume to reading the label on everything you pick up. Originally window shopping for a particular vitamin we ended up racking up on a few groceries, journey candles, assorted nuts, snacks, and good ole water. In their ( I guess you can call it ) pharmacy section we stumbled across a bunch of natural oils designed for a plethora of different focuses for moods, energy, and various other uses like proteins ( like b12 etc ). Incense game was marvelous as they offered an entire rack of scents to accommodate your spiritual and relaxing needs. For all the at home chefs out there they have all types of different seasons some that can't be found in regular shopping centers. The produce was extremely fresh ( not like the bad batches you match catch at a Walmart ) with vibrant colors which made us gravitate to purchase some! All in all 5 out of 5! Pre-made dessert VEGAN review: My brother and I stopped by one evening in search of vegan desserts. It was one of *those* days and something sweet was needed. We looked through the ice cream section, but we didn't find any small cartons of ice cream, so we decided to see what they were selling in the bakery. They had vegan sweets galore, even though it was close to closing time. We were deciding between the vegan and gluten free sweet potato bread and brownie bites. Other options were a key lime pie and another type of squash pie (I can't quite remember what type of squash). We ended up going with the sweet potato bread... and OMG I am so glad we did. It was really delicious. Sweet, but not too sweet, the bread was speckled with raisins and had a comforting cinnamon and nutmeg flavor. I really enjoyed eating it. It was slightly pricey at almost $6, but it was a good portion size and so yummy. After eating that, I've got to come back and try their other desserts! We did run into an awkward situation while we were here. There was a quarter on the floor and my brother went to pick it up. As he did, a woman who worked at Sevananda stood really close to him and said "Did you find that? Give it to me." It was just bizarre. So I came here because I needed some herbs and the place had everything you could imagine. I'm making some slaves for myself and some clients so I wanted to get some vs ordering some. Now getting into here is a hassle because it's one way in and one way out so you have to hope you get a parking spot as soon as you drive in. Once you are inside then you are good. I looooooove this place! Best co-op grocer that I have ever visited. The vegan hot food there is so delicious and I never come out spending more than $40 for good organic and vegan foods. Now the customer service there is always on point. Whatever information I need they are ready and available to deliver. Daniel at the cash register is always friendly and kind. Jesse (I hope I.got his name right) was very helpful in getting my alkaline water for me. The store is small but has a diverse selection of organic foods. Just about everytime I visit, it seen to find something new I want to try. The prices are reasonable to me for organic foods, not much different than Whole Foods or Sprouts. Now the only issue I have is the parking lot. It is very small and can be tricky in getting a parking space. So I normally go at different times when I know they are kind of slow. Please read this about the rude clerk TREVOR in the homeopathic department. He decided to try and belittle me and my friend by telling us what's wrong with Black people after I asked if he worked there. HE SAID BLACK PEOPLE DON'T READ OR OBSERVE ANYTHING! FOR REAL!!! Today I visited Sevananda with a friend to purchase a few items from the homeopathic section. While there the clerk Trevor, I believe was his name was so rude I had to write this review. I want to be sure that it is understood the person I'm speaking of was a short black man (I too am black) with locks, working at approximately 5:30ish pm on April 21, 2020, in this department. The homeopathic department was only allowing 6 people to enter this section at a time (Covid-19) and while the department is only 3 isles it still was a little overwhelming. I then saw this person standing looking at the shelf but wasn't exactly sure if he worked there so I asked. " Excuse me, do you work here?" That is when the clerk Trevor turned and said this is what I hate, black people are not observant at all! I have on a smock and a name badge! I was so shocked about what he said" I didn't really know how to respond. I said, "excuse me, you could have been coming from another job and I couldn't see your name tag but so what if I had? Trevor then went on to lecture, "black people don't observe or read and because he was an educated man he always goes in and observes places and things before he speaks and that's black peoples problem." I said, " I see and in my sarcastic way, I said you know what else some black people do like you? They do to damn much!" He then said, "well you can't group me with other black people. I laughed and then said wait a minute you just grouped us into a category but you don't want me to do the same to you? He then realized, I guess, how stupid he sounded so he sort of smiled and said, "Look, I'm not going to keep arguing with you cause neither of us is going to win." I said, "no you are not going to win". Trevor then said, "I'm not going to help you, you need me!"! I reached over his shoulder and grabbed the product I needed. I responded, I don't need you I found what I'm looking for, so get the stepping. My friend just stood there in shock! She said is this real? Trevor said yes this is for real. I was so shocked I have never had this experience ever at any establishment. I moved out of the homeopathic section since only 6 people could come in and when I stepped out every customer was shaking there head saying this is a shame. Apparently he and the lady working in that section have no customer service skills and were rude and short and have decided that we need them. What was worse was when a male shopper stepped into that section and clerk Trevor tried to stop him but never did he raise his voice at him. I guess he has no respect for woman especially woman customers. Well "educated" Trevor and his co worker has convinced me to never step foot in Sevananda again! But here is a word of advice, Trevor, educated people don't have to announce there educated saying that you are makes you sound even more insecure and unhappy and most likely not educated at all. Stop practicing the, I'm an educated man, thing in the mirror, it's not working for you. If you hate your life do something about it. P. S. Sending a copy of this to the co op board and every social media platform I can find. May not mean anything but if they don't care about their businesses being impacted then oh well.
