We found Tracy and Set the Table via Yelp and were drawn to their great reviews. We were looking for a chef to help us devise a menu and deliver an amazing experience for a holiday dinner party for 12 people in our home. Tracy and Dustin did not disappoint! They helped us come up with a great four course menu for a decadent Italian meal, they were responsive by phone (friendly and efficient), they showed up on time, 3 hours before our event, they took care of EVERYTHING in our kitchen and were a huge help, and the meal was fantastic (favorites were zucchini soup, marinated skirt steak, lasagna and delicious pumpkin tiramisu). Their professionalism and efficiency and kindness were top notch and they were friendly and fun. Fantastic dinner...everyone loved it! It was a very special evening...the whole process from start to finish was great. Tracy and Melissa were both great! The food was simply amazing. She helped with menu planning, bought all the food, and brought it to our house pre-prepared for a dinner party for friends. We sprung a few last minute extra guests on her and she easily handled it. And we asked her for a few special accommodations for some gluten free items, no problem! She stayed and cooked the rest of the food onsite, served, and cleaned. The kitchen was immaculate when she left, and she took out the trash. She even packed away a few leftovers in our refrigerator for us. And on top of all of that Tracy and Melissa were both friendly, fun and a joy to interact with. Tracy is incredible at what she does and it shows throughout the entire process. She helps you build the menu before your event, whether it's by phone, email or text. She suggests pairings and flavors for you but ultimately it's your decision- you're not choosing from a preset list of meals. At the event she's a master of the kitchen- able to cook and host at the same time without getting flustered. She's extremely personable and willing to talk to your guests about the meal and how she's preparing it or just about the weather or the news. My guests loved that she didn't just shut herself in the kitchen to churn out the meal but talked to us like she was hosting a dinner in her own home. She arrived promptly, served promptly, and cleaned/left at the perfect time- enough time to spend with her but also leaving us enough time on our own (to rave about the meal she served both inside and outside of earshot.) Most importantly, the food was amazing. Meats well cooked and seasoned, pasta perfect firmness, appetizers tasty and dessert decadent. You will not regret hiring Tracy.
