Expensive and poor quality of work. Had to call back three times for same unfixed problem and got charged three travel times

I use Sessions Plumbing exclusively. A long time, local, family owned business. Always friendly, knowledgeable, prompt, and professional. Had them come out due to water on the floor under the toilet. It was the gasket between the tank and toilet, but that shape of gasket was not available anymore. Decided to replace the toilet to a taller one. Total bill was less than I expected! The business said nothing to us about cost, hourly rate, or anything. They came out and fixed our wobbly toilet and in the process they broke the toilet seat. The biggest issue though is that no discussion around how much the repair would cost ever took place, which doesn't allow me to make any other decisions regarding plumbing companies to use. They are terrible, when I spoke to them about this the lady who answers the phone was extremely rude and hung up on me. read more

I called them to come out and look at replacing the polybutylene piping in the home. It took 2 weeks to get them to come out. Before they came I asked if there was a service charge via email. They never responded. Jerry came out and spent over hour hour looking at the home. At the end of his inspection he wanted us to pay him $95 an hour from his shop and his time looking at the project to quote. It would have been more professional to tell you over the phone how much the service call would be. We felt it was very shady at the end to get a quote. He said that he would have his quote by Monday. By Wednesday I called twice about the quote. We were even going to pay his service call fee. He picked up the phone and said they were not going to quote on the repipe. Complete waste of everyone's time. Now weeks later we need to call another plumber. Right now plumbers have an attitude, but it is going to bite them in the butt later. read more

Couldn't answer simple question about timing of work on phone. Came out to my house just to then say it couldn't be done until later. Rude and condescending demeanor. Terrible communication. Work was completed and I was mailed a bill. I was surprised to see I was charged for an hour and a half for labor, when the job itself took 20-30 minutes. What I wasn't told when I requested their services was I would be charged for labor from the time the plumber leaves the shop, until the time he returns. I've cancelled all additional work needed with sessions and have inquired about more honest and reputable plumbers. read more

I have worked with Sessions Plumbing multiple times and I'm always impressed their friendliness, professionalism and the quality of the work. Jerry is a great guy and has saved me a lot of money over the years. I don't understand the negative reviews but there are a few people out there who think businesses should stop everything to help them NOW! Of course, if they were the ones who's work was being delayed by these little jobs they would probably be unhappy also. You just can't please everyone, especially the Karens of this world. read more

Had a 50 gal electric water heater replaced in a low ceiling basement. They supplied the tank and removed the old one(cheaper than Big box stores in total with longer warranty). They did a great job in a reasonable amount of time and at a fair price. I have owned over 20 homes so this is not my first hot water tank so I have used a few different Plumbers. They will be the plumber I call for anything in the Longview area. read more

I've had two dealing with this company and I was very impressed with both performace and honesty. We had an emergency (Water heater blew up) they showed up same day, replaced heater and charged a very fair price, when "they could have" charged emergency prices. I highly recommend these guys. My hot water heater gave up the ghost Friday morning. I waited until afternoon to start calling around. Settled on Home Depot to buy and install. Turned out they couldn't do it to Wednesday (lucky for me) and lt would be 1500.00 I called sessions. They would try to get someone up there today or worse case Saturday if I wanted to pay weekend rates. As my wife said fix it or don't come home I said great! What ever it takes! I got home around 5:00 and the heater was installed. My wife said two guys came up who were wonderful, they had someone bring another heater up cause my electrical wouldn't reach but they were in and out in two hours. I asked my wife "how much?" She said "they said the office will send s bill". Who does that anymore! Naturally I've been waiting for a week of angst wondering what the bill would be. Normally I chase down bids etc but at this point we just wanted it done. Well, this afternoon the bill came. $750.00! 1/2 the cost of what Home Depot was gonna bill me! I know doesn't have bells and whistles but do you really need a digital readout on a water heater? 50 gallon. USA made. They carry the warranty and this service shows they are a phone call away. Sessions I salute you! Perfect opportunity to take advantage, I never even asked the price could have billed 1200-1500 but an honest company. Thank you! read more

Unsure of the name of the plumber that came out, but was not an easy job at all, but he did what he could do, and not only fixed the problem, found another problem and fixed that as well. Not too happy about having to pay for some of the parts (plumber's tape, gloves, and other simple things I could have provided which made the bill that much higher), and also the fact I have to pay from when they leave the shop until they return to the shop, should be when they arrive at job, then leave said job. But overall, would recommend, they got the job done when another plumber backed out, because he said it was too hard. The neighbors tried to have Sessions Plumbing & Heating come to my property to fix something without an easement. I told them they were not allowed and did not have my permission to be on my property, but the plumbers hung out until the Sheriff arrived and finally had them leave. No respect for others property rights. I tried calling the main office 3 times to try and contact someone in the office to diffuse the situation, but nobody ever answered the phone. What a horrible run in... I never want to see a Sessions Plumbing & Heating van again. read more

Had a water leak on a Friday afternoon. Contacted their office and was laughed at by the office staff. She stated "Good Luck with finding anyone to help you." She offered no assistance or alternatives. If this encounter is an indication of their professionalism then I am staying clear. read more

I had an old kitchen sink replaced with a new one, which I supplied. The total cost was $530. I was aware of the $90/hr labor charge for the plumber. The person in the office told me they would have to send another person to help remove the heavy old cast iron sink. I didn't think much of it until I received the bill and there was 3 hours for the plumber's labor and 3 hours for an apprentice's labor at $60/hour. (Total of 150/hour labor). I guess I just assumed it was $90/hour to do the job period. When I called to question this after receiving the bill, the office person told me "I told you I would have to send someone to help remove the cast iron sink- I could have sent another journeyman." Live and learn, I guess. I will be asking more in-depth questions when I need to hire someone to do work for me in the future. I am all for supporting local businesses, but in this case I was disappointed. The work they did was fine- they replaced the sink and did a nice job. It's the office I was disappointed in. I don't feel like they were totally up front with me, and I think the cost was way too high. read more

Wow!!! Was I impressed with the quality, timeliness, and professionalism of the nice young man who was contracted to repair the water lines in my apartment unit following a fire below me. He went out of his way to contact me prior to arriving, to ensure his visit wouldn't be disruptive to my schedule. When he arrived, he has all his tools and necessary items with him. Furthermore, he brought his own tarp to lay down rather than using my white linens. He kept me apprised of the work progress, finished in an exceptionally timely fashion, and encouraged me to contact him with any other problems or concerns. We called Sessions Plumbing after hours and left a message that we would like to schedule an appointment for a bid to have our old galvanized pipes from the 60's replaced all the way from the meter and throughout the whole house. They called us back the next business morning and scheduled the bid for the next day. Jerry was very prompt and professional. He did is walk through and said he would have the bid to us by the end of business the next day. Again, very prompt and true to his word. I work from home so I have been around during the entire process and I cannot make enough positive comments about the crew that completed our work. They called and introduced themselves prior to arriving, arrived promptly, were very polite and friendly. My hat is off to Jerry, Josh, Steve, Mark and the entire crew at Sessions. You all have made this project easier and more bearable. We will definitely be calling you if we ever need any additional work done!! read more

I called the company, told them I needed 2 valves installed in the shower. They came out, said they needed parts and left, came back, and finished installing the valves. I already had the pipe and fitting, screws, wood and anything else you would need to install this. All they had to do was screw in 4 fittings, and attach my pex pipe I had there already. First I said I would get the parts, they said dont worry about it. I was sent a bill for $580. It took one of the owners 3 hours to screw the valves to the wall and install the 4 pex fittings. I called them, asking about the time it took and the price, they said it was one of the owners who did this and so I am out of luck. they charged me $12 for screws, guess they are made of gold and better than the ones I had there for him. 3 hours for a 1 hour job. I used them before but will never use again. read more
