A burst pipe resulted in a flood which required considerable cleaning up and repair. I have zero experience of such things, this was my first flood and my first insurance claim. The insurance company suggested Servepro so I called them and they arrived the next day to begin drying the place. I also agreed to let them take care of the repairs and restoration. While some mistakes were made by them or their subcontractors in the process, they made everything right in the end and I got the impression from the man in charge of restoration (Chad - good guy) that they wanted to do a good job and not get paid for anything they'd not done properly. I hope to never need such a service again, but if I did, I'd have no objection to calling them again. read more

Avoid this company at all costs. My bad experience was much like what I have now read in this company's the other negative reviews on Yelp. The reconstruction which should have been done in a few weeks at most, took 5 months, with weeks during which no one showed up to work at all, and was done very poorly. Communication throughout was awful, both with me and between the project manager and his subcontractor. Servpro tried to get me to pay for work they didn't do and is refusing to pay for damage they did (which was documented in their own photographs). Yes, you will need a lawyer. This is absolutely one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. They take advantage of you when you are already down. Shame on Tim Coffey and his entire company. read more

One of the worst companies I have ever experienced . No commutation , deceitful , paid for work they didn't do . If you want to be displaced longer than you have too . Ashley will come into your home take pictures of everything claiming they will put your home back it was . A big lie , pretty much you are on your own . The project manager Bob will also tell you a bunch of lies . So you have to supervise your contractor , who doesn't speak English well also . Bob will also try to cheap out your insurance money , saying your claim adjust hasn't sent you the final total . Which I still havent received. Be aware of wolves in sheep clothes ! read more

If you do decide to work with this company, make sure you have a lawyer ready to defend you first. Isaac prepared an estimate on what we needed done after a leak took out half of our kitchen. When the project manager, Tim, came out later, he showed us the break down of charges. We told him that was way more than we actually needed done. All the material, except two strips of trim, was purchased by me and only needed to be installed. There were charges for material and labor on the list. Tim said not to worry, that this was an estimate for "worst case scenario" and anything not needed could be removed from the bill later. We even added a bit more so the rest of the kitchen would match what was being replaced. Since the contract we signed said change orders could be done while the work was happening or after it was finished, we didn't worry. And we paid them the required 50% up front. We should have worried. Their people showed up, two of them. Even they were confused by how much work was listed for them to do. About a third of the work listed was required according to the people hired by Servpro to complete the contract. None of the extra and more expensive items were needed, like a dump truck to haul things away, painting the entire kitchen, and the plumber never showed up. After the workers stopped showing up, Tim contacted us to finalize payments. There was still work that needed to be done, but with the way Tim was pestering my husband, we decided it would be easier and smarter to finish the last parts ourselves. Tim didn't come out, didn't verify any work, he also implied that he hadn't even spoken to the people who worked on my house. We brushed that aside, simply wanting things to be over with. Following the contract, we sent him the list of things from the estimate that weren't done. As it was more than half the cost that needed to be removed, we offered to call it even as we'd already overpaid. We thought we were being generous. Again, we just wanted things settled so we could finally have our kitchen back after two months. Tim's response to that was to threaten us with lawyers, followed up with threats of court dates, and even threatened to place a lien on our property. We explained time and again that we were asking for a change order to reflect the work done, as per the contract and his oral assurances. Tim ignored, and continues to ignore, any mention of change orders and focuses on how much he feels we still owe him. He sends us threats along with new contracts for us to sign admitting we still owe him money. The amount of money, and even the names on the contracts, keeps changing, but is always more than is required per our first signed contract. We contacted Isaac, who did the initial walk through and estimate. Isaac said they will look into this issue with Tim, but that was the only response we got. No one else from the company has contacted us in the last week. Tim, and possibly Servpro themselves, are trying to use bait and switch tactics mixed with bullying and coercion to get us to pay what was estimated for "worst case scenario" instead of what their contractors actually did. He also refused to discuss sending their people out to do the work in order to get the amount he wants. If he wants me to pay 1300 for painting an entire room, I have a room he can paint. He ignored that offer as well. I cannot recommend this company to anyone, and I strongly suggest using a local handy man to get your work done instead. They might not be good, but at least they won't threaten you with a team of lawyers, court dates, and liens on your property in a bid to extort you for work not done or needed. read more

I have had 2 unfortunate life experiences with water damage and Servpro was amazing in both incidents. This recent mishap I had an old washing machine malfunction on the rinse cycle which flooded my kitchen and dinning room area. Once called, Servpro was quick to address the issue and begin accessing the possible damage and dry down process. I experienced excellent customer service from Angela on my phone calls and direct assistance in my home from Travis, Jalen, and Abraham who all explained all process and procedures thoroughly. during a traumatic event like this, its good to know that people are friendly, courteous and professional to make the process less stressful. read more

Stay away from this company, I used them for an insurance claim because I had mold damage from a rain storm and I wasn't aware of the leak. It took them almost a year to get it finished and almost 8months to get started on the repairs. They didn't do the repairs right the first time and had to come back and do the whole room all over again and it's still not correct. I have a 3 year warranty on the work they performed and I've been told they would come back out and make it right and all I keep getting when it's time for them to come is excuses why they have to keep putting it off. I wish I had chosen another company, this company isn't worth 1 star in my book. Stay away from these people. I tried to hold the insurance check until they came back to make corrections and the project mgr. tricked me and said in order to make corrections the balance had to be paid in full so I fell for it and haven't seen them since and I keep getting excuses SERPRO IS A RIP OFF STAY AWAY from the Greensboro NC location. read more

Servpro really saved the day! Had a flooded basement which is my mancave, they were there within hours and save some of my most valuable Collectibles. They dried out everything that we had and helped me through the process with the insurance company. We also had them do the repairs of our basement and it was like having a brand new space. Broken pipe in the crawl space. Possibly sewage. Paid $1000 over the phone before they would come out. $1000 because it might be sewage. First tech was great. He threw some lime through the hatch and left. 5 days later a different tech shows up, stays 5 minutes and leaves. I'm told by Misty that that level of clean up is "not in their wheelhouse". We're talking about a 6 ft. By 6 ft. Area with maybe 1 inch of water in a 3 foot tall crawl space. Their tech described it as "waist deep". So I essentially paid $1000 for a guy to throw a bag of lime through a hatch. Half of it is on top of suspended pipes and floor insulation. Not the wet spot. Don't believe their website. I own a commercial property....a 3 story unit...I had a commode that malfunctioned on the third floor and of course I was gone for the weekend, I walked in Monday morning to water everywhere...I called Servpro because I had heard good things about them! Well...they were out here within a couple hours and were outstanding!! They immediately started sucking the water out, they got the contents and were able to save most of them!! I was impressed by their attention to detail and their professionalism! I have used other companies and they have shown up not prepared at all....wearing shorts and appeared to be inebriated!! Needless to say...Servpro is now my number one company to call!! I even had them clean my ductwork!! My office feels like a brand new place after they got done!!! read more

Unfortunately, like David, we've lived through two disasters. The first from Mother Nature and the second from Servpro. It's almost a mirror of his issue. Poor to no communication from the home office, late show and no shows to their subcontractors, broken furniture in storage that they accused us of being broken beforehand....even though they never provided pictures until the complaints were filed with BBB.... the franchise owners ignored a certified letter sent to them, and the office mgr called us liars at one point. The only reason I gave them one star is that the roofer did a fine job. Otherwise, unless you're ready to deal with a second disaster, steer clear of Servpro. Horrible, cut throat pricing. Overcharged on everything, insurance didn't cover our basement damage but we didn't know until afterwards. They charged daytime service as "after hours", overcharged on footage, charged 2 & 3 times for the same thing, and charged on things that were never done. Overall Servpro is supposed to be a good company but this location has a history of problems. Winston-Salem location was booked so we had to go with them just to try and save our carpet (which didn't happen) but do NOT go with this location. read more

Horrible experience that continues in five years later. It's been five years and five days since my house burned and Serb Pro was hired to clean it up and repair it. At the time it was a horrible experience--Including finding out they had lost or destroyed precious family heirlooms that did not burn in the fire. Now only five years later I just found out I am facing tens of thousands of dollars in repairs to replace/fix the shoddy work they did. In fairness, the company did tell me they fired the contractor who made all the mistakes at the time. But that doesn't help me now. And the icing on the cake is that the contractor who is now going to have to repair their mistakes used to work for s different Seev Pro but said he quit because of their unethical practices. Bad enough to get burned by a house fire. Even worse to get burned afaby this company. Response to your response: this is NOT a bogus review by a competitor. There was a pipe leak in the wall of my elderly father's house. My dad passed away while the repairs were being done. When Servpro came, they took the entire contents of the living room. When it was time to get the furniture back, they did not bring back 90% of what they took. They claimed it was not salvageable. None of the furniture was directly under the leak. I requested a list of inventory and pictures of what they "destroyed". They had no inventory list and no pictures. They had no idea where an expensive lift chair we had might have gone. A few weeks after they returned what little they had, I started getting multiple calls and texts from the company. They claimed one of the items they returned to me (a rocking chair) was actually another customer's. I told them I would get it to them when I could back in town. After continuously harassing me about the chair, the calls suddenly stopped. When I went to Greensboro, the rocking chair was no longer in the home. A neighbor has several pictures of a person entering the house and taking the rocking chair out. "Coincidentally", around the same time, my dad's hot water heater started leaking and damaged the home. This company is unprofessional, incompetent and unlawful. Do not use them! They took all of our household contents out with the promise that everything would be inventoried, cleaned, properly stored, and returned to us when the restoration was done. The inventory they gave us was a list that said things like "Box 1 - kitchen" - useless! Another company did the restoration and when they were done we arranged for Servpro to bring back our belongings. They brought the boxes back and piled them up all over the house so that we had to move them just to unpack other boxes. The boxes were mis-labled, and looked like they had been packed by turning a drawer upside down and dumping it into the box. Nothing had been cleaned! Many things were damaged, some beyond repair, including our master bed frame, the dining table and chairs, an antique shelf, and a Karastan rug that disappeared and was not even on the inventory. We estimated between $7,000- $10,000 lost and damaged household items and they blew it off. They refused to compensate us and told us to sue them if we wanted to do so. Of course, the attorney we spoke to told us that they could run up more in legal fees than our suit would be worth so we were forced to drop it. They have reviews similar to this from all around the country. DO NOT let these guys in the door. They will only leave you feeling as though you've been through two disasters. This being one of a dozen issues incurred, Employees were youthful and lacked experience created hazards far worse than water. Left refuse under house and refused to remove a wall covered in mold...Late shows, often no show with no communication from home office.
