I got a free inspection + quote from Tar Heel Basement Systems and they were super pushy and rude…read more Salesman would not take no for an answer, and they tried all kinds of slimy tactics to close the deal. "Sign today to get an additional x% discount" "My boss won't like this but...." "Oh oops I forgot to add this one $10,000 piece to your invoice, the price we've been discussing for 1/2 hour is now 50% higher" "Well I guess I could give you the friends and family discount..." etc etc Every time I said no to their "absolute lowest price they can do," they came back with another "lowest price" with some kind of discount or deal that they "shouldn't do, but can make an exception for..." I've read online that they do excellent work, but all they wanted to talk about was their competitors. If I had a nickel for every time I heard about "the other guys," I could possibly afford their newest "absolute best price we can do." Not a fan. Just tell me the price, tell me what you do, and cut the gimmicks.

Very very responsive organization. After some of the rains I went into my crawl space and noted…read moresome standing water. I asked Tar Heel to come by and make a determination to mitigate the problem. Before Colin arrived, I had a good sense of what was needed. I had an issue with a basement problem in a former house, so I was prepared for any "oversell." Oh, and my wife had over 36 years in the building industry. Colin provided a very detailed findings and options for correcting the water problem. We were both happy with the proposal and will be moving forward.

Jonathan Tagar the owner of this company is a thief and is running a scam business. I doubt he even…read morehas his HVAC qualifications/liscence let alone a business license. If this man comes to your house, he will most likely pretend he isn't the owner and is just an employee. My wife and her mother made the mistake of booking him through some sort of broker company called En Duct. When he got out here, he met with my wife and mother-in-law and conned them into believing there was a mold problem with my AC unit. What was initially around $200 Duct Cleaning Service turned into an $800 scam! He told my wife that he would treat my AC unit for mold and to install a UV light that would prevent it from happening again. He claimed he did all this work and upon leaving refused to give my wife an invoice after she paid him in cash... Huge mistake! I wish my wife would have informed me about any of this as this would have been prevented right from the start. Since then we have had the work looked over by another contractor and was confirmed that it was a scam and nothing was conducted by Southeastern Air Care. Not only that, but I have law enforcement involved now to which they have confirmed Jonathan Tager's actions. Hopefully it won't be long until he is held accountable. Whatever you do, do not book this company as this man is a con artist that preys on weak people.

Everything James F said in his review and more! What started out as a $109 job to clean each unit…read more(we have 2) ended up being $800. I should have never fell for it. Ryan talks fast and makes promises and with little result. Well. With NO results. He 'installed' two UV lights to kill mold and promised to send an electrician out to hardwire the lights (instead of using a drop cord out of the window). Nothing in 3 weeks. This company is a joke. I attached picture of invoice. Insane pricing. The company and their work is a joke. Stay away and find another company to help you.
