Move For Less

There was no walking slow. They came in and accessed the job and got to work. What I paid for this job, the value was far above what I received. They were very pleasant and courteous. I highly recommend this vendor!!

I would NOT recommend this moving company…read more The move started out well. They arrived on time and initially seemed professional. Unfortunately, things went downhill quickly. First, the movers started putting items on the truck that I had clearly set aside to throw away, including a dryer. After loading things that weren't supposed to be moved, they then told me they were running out of room on the truck. Once we arrived at the new place, the pace became extremely slow. There were four movers, but at times it seemed like only one person was actually going back and forth upstairs and putting furniture back together. I was told they were using a "chain line," but whatever system they were using was not efficient. The move ended up taking two hours longer than expected, which added approximately $500 to my bill. Even worse, they broke my daughter's TV, which she had only owned for about four months. When I tried to file a claim, I repeatedly called and was told that a manager would contact me. I kept speaking with the same person, John, who would act surprised each time that no manager had called me back. Eventually, they stopped answering my calls altogether. As we've continued unpacking, we've discovered another serious issue. The TV stand had been taped closed with belongings inside of it, but when it arrived at the new place, those items were missing and the TV stand was empty. My biggest problem isn't just that things went wrong during the move--it's the company's lack of accountability afterward. Items were damaged, other belongings appear to be missing, my bill increased by hundreds of dollars because of the additional time, and my attempts to resolve the issues have been ignored. Based on my experience, I would not use this company again and cannot recommend them. If something gets damaged or goes missing, don't expect them to make the claims process easy or to take responsibility.

They took care with her things as they packed and unpacked. We would use them for every move. Pricing was very fair and competitive to other companies, the final charge was actually less than the quote. Great communication. We knew when they were on their way and when they arrived. Very grateful we found Moving Ahead Services!!!

I would give them zero stars if I could…read more They moved us and it was a disaster from the start. Then they damaged our furniture and admitted fault. Please note we paid for additional insurance to cover up to $15,000 worth of damage. I spent weeks trying to get in touch with someone. Jovelyn who was barely responsive. The company would screen my calls. Then finally the GM, Scott, took over my case. The company admitted fault and took responsibility, then the company agreed to replace our furniture that was damaged/broken (I have proof) and then Mike (whom till this day refuses to return my calls) decided I had to file a claim through this CSI company that investigates claims. After waiting almost 2 weeks for Jovelyn to get me the information I needed to file, I complete one. Then I contacted Moving Ahead Services MULTIPLE times because no one from this CSI claims ever reached out to me or answered my emails/calls after I filed. It's now August 22nd, I moved June 13, and I'm still sleeping on a bed on the floor because my bed frame was snapped in half. I waited to write a review because I wanted to give them the opportunity to rectify the situation. God speed if you choose this company.

They did fix an issue I had that wasn't realized till year 3. 2nd story door's corner was slow leaking through insulation. That takes a while to show up. When they send their A team its a good experience. But they subcontract out so be prepared to hover.

Title: Five Months of Waiting, Repeated Delays, Poor Communication, and Concerns About Contract…read moreTransparency My experience with this siding company has been extremely disappointing. What should have been a straightforward home improvement project has turned into a frustrating process involving five months of waiting, repeated delays, poor communication, and concerns about whether everything discussed before the agreement was finalized was properly included in the contract. I have spent approximately five months waiting for this project to be completed. During this time, I made several attempts to get the project scheduled and repeatedly encountered delays. I was told that the manager would contact me, but despite multiple attempts to follow up, I did not receive the promised communication. This left me having to chase the company for updates about a project I had already committed to. On September 28, I reached out regarding the possibility of receiving a discount or price adjustment because of the delays and repeated communication failures. After waiting so long and spending so much time trying to get answers, I felt that some consideration was warranted for the inconvenience. The situation became even more frustrating when I received a message from Vice President Chris Sawicki apologizing for the lack of communication. He explained that the supplier had never placed the order for the siding materials. According to his message, this mistake was not discovered until the company attempted to schedule delivery. He acknowledged that the situation was not my fault and explained that additional time would likely be needed for the materials to arrive before the crew could proceed. After approximately five months of waiting, learning that the materials had not even been ordered correctly was unacceptable and extremely frustrating. This was a preventable mistake that caused further delays and demonstrated a lack of communication and oversight. Now, I have another concern involving the patio screen. Bob and I specifically discussed the screen during our conversation about the siding and door. However, I have since discovered that the screen was not included in the contract. I find this particularly concerning. When a company representative discusses an item with a customer during the planning process, I expect the agreement to accurately reflect what was discussed. Discovering that the patio screen was omitted has left me feeling misled. From my perspective, this is not how a professional company should handle a customer's project. Taken together, these issues have significantly diminished my confidence in this company. Five months of waiting, repeated scheduling problems, failure to communicate as promised, a supplier ordering mistake, and now a missing patio screen have made this an extremely disappointing customer experience. I believe customers deserve clear communication, accurate contracts, accountability for mistakes, and reasonable consideration when a company's errors cause significant delays and inconvenience. Unfortunately, my experience has fallen well short of those expectations. I strongly recommend that anyone considering doing business with this company document everything. Keep copies of all contracts, save text messages and emails, and follow up on verbal conversations in writing to confirm exactly what was discussed and promised. Make sure every item, feature, and agreement is explicitly listed in the contract before signing. Do not rely solely on verbal assurances, because discovering later that something you discussed was not included can lead to frustration, disagreements, and additional expenses. I am asking the company to provide a satisfactory resolution regarding the missing patio screen and to address the overall problems with this project. I also believe a fair price adjustment should be considered in light of the five-month delay and ongoing communication failures. At this point, I am extremely disappointed with how this has been handled. I would caution other homeowners to carefully review their contracts, document all conversations, and keep records of every follow-up attempt before moving forward with this company. Based on my experience, I would have serious reservations about recommending this company to others.
