In July 2024, we were hit by a massive hailstorm. Immediately thereafter, we had multiple pushy and…read moreaggressive contractors knock on our door trying to be the very first one to get our business. While I was not certain how much damage our roof had, I was certain that I did not want to deal with anyone that is that aggressive about getting my business. Then Nathaniel with Guardian knocked on our door. He was professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable. He was very pleasant to talk to (unlike every single contractor that knocked on our door beforehand). At first I turned him away, but I mentioned to my wife how kind he was. It only took maybe 1 minute of a conversation with my wife before I went back outside to catch him before he left. Overall, Nathaniel was wonderful to work with. He explained every step of the process, including how to start the claim process with our insurance company. He was very patient and thoroughly answered all of my many, many questions! In the end, we ended up getting a new roof and gutters, entirely covered by insurance. We also opted to have Guardian install all new siding, which was only partially covered by insurance, but we were able to get a very good product for a very good deal. Throughout the process, I interacted with multiple people at Guardian and every single one of them was a true pleasure to work with. Overall, I highly recommend Guarding for all of your roofing, siding, and gutter needs!

There was damage and Tyler Roach of Guardian was instrumental in getting my insurance company to pay for the replacement. Tyler helped me submit the claim and continually kept me informed of progress with my claim. I believe Guardian used the highest quality materials and installation to deliver on schedule a superior project.

We hired Demarco Restortation after a house fire in April of 2022. Everything sounded great…read morehowever when the work did start we found out he didnt have all his permits together which slowed down the process of the house rebuild. We were out of our home for almost 2 years after he told us when we hired him he needed 9 months. He subcontracts out for each job in the house. I have a list of thing that did not get done and a list of things they were done very sloppy. From smoked damaged doors frames, terrible paint job that was not completed, we still have spackle marks that never got sanded and painted over, we have a lot of areas where the paint is unfinished. Leaks from the one of the upstairs bathrooms that left water stairs on the ceiling downstairs. Closet doors don't stay shut, bedroom door still can just be pushed open even when locked, Bathroom door has a big gap when closed so you can still see in, stairs never got a clear poxy coat over the stain so the stain in worn. We were suppose to have the patio that needed to be dug up replaced but smaller to give us more yard room, instead nothing was done leaving the yard to be a nightmare of just dirt a uneven ground. Gaps in the exterior doors where we can see sunlight coming into the house also bringing in mice so we had to have an exterminator. His electrician wouldnt run the main electrical line to the house so we needed to figure that out. Beeping in 2 of the smoke detectors kept going off during the rebuild process so instead of replacing these during the build they removed them and never replaced them. Exterior doors never painted one exterior doors never had its hardware put on. We were suppose to get a tile backsplash in the kitchen, that was never installed. The floor his guys put down is coming up all over the house because it wasnt installed properly. We were suppose to have a hallway closet upstairs, the inside of the closet still has unfinished drywall, no shelves or door so its just an empty hole in the wall right now. One of the front windows does not open and shut properly. The communication was terrible the entire time and he seemed to be very short and have an attitude with us. He now just sued us for the $13,000 that wasnt paid. We dropped the ball with filing an appeal because we have 4 kids and both have full time job. We are both very busy and missed the deadline. I would never recommend him to anybody.

Andrew was amazing in coming and saving the day to clean up the mess before a wedding was to come that weekend. The most recent occurrence was dealing with a lot of mold that had built up in my sisters apartment due to a leaky window and rotted sill. Andrew arrived at 6 AM and set up a protected barrier around the affected area and attached a sanitation fan. Then he used a massive commercial UV fan to kill any other spores in the air in her apartment. These units ran for two straight days while my sister stayed with me. Andrew also cleaned the carpets and used a HEPA filter vacuum to do the final cleaning . When Lisa returned to her apartment yesterday, for the first time in many years she was not wheezy, and her sinuses felt clear. This is a miracle and one that she welcomed after many years of suffering due to the mold side effects. Thank you Andrew for your professionalism and prompt response in helping us out. Don't go anywhere else... Andrew is the real deal so just hire him to get it right!

    Paul Davis Restoration

I hired Paul Davis Restoration to install a garage door on my property after some storm damage. A…read moreyear after the installation, the door stopped operating. Assuming that it was due to the garage door opener I had another company check the garage door opener for basic troubleshooting. To my surprise, the 2nd company identified several issues with the installation of the door which resulted in the door not closing and seizing resulting in damage to my garage door opener. All of the identified issues required extensive repairs in addition to a brand-new garage door opener. I was provided an inspection report and photos of the parts of the garage door that were installed incorrectly. One of the main issues was that the door was too large for the door opening. But rather than order a new door or a new panel for the top of the door (as is standard practice), Paul Davis Restoration cut a notch in the top of the door which is improper and resulted in structural concerns which are detailed in the inspection report. The inspection report also details other issues such as missing outside lift brackets at the top and bottom of the door and cables that were run around the track to the pulley. In short, the improper installation caused the door to seize and break the gear and sprockets on the garage door opener. All of which prevented the door from closing. Paul Davis Restoration also didn't replace the emergency key release which is standard practice in a garage door installation. This is a safety concern, because in the event that the door seized while it was closed and I had been in the garage, there would've been no way for me to leave the garage without the door being cut through. I don't have a direct entrance to my home from inside of the garage. I attempted to address this with them and even reached out to the PA Attorney General Office. This resulted in a few communications from one of their representatives Brian Maggs, claiming that they stand by their work and they would do something to resolve the issue. In the end their smug ass attorney Jeffrey Harper responds refusing to accept responsibility and claiming that they processed a refund 2 years ago which is a lie. They sent a one page print out showing a refund of my deductible which conveniently never made it to my bank account. As a professional that has a license built on integrity, I clearly wouldn't request a refund for money that I had already received. Overall, don't use this company. It took them 3 days to install a standard garage door. The people that they sent could barely speak English and they cut corners. They did a shitty job and they clearly enjoy stealing from hardworking people. And rather than do the right thing they chose to give me their ass to kiss versus offering a fair settlement which would've been my out of pocket cost to repair a door that they installed improperly. Luckily I'm not hard up for the money. It's not worth the legal fees to pursue.
