No one wants to hear my a/c freezing up story, so I'll skip to the meaty parts. First, these folks have a super nice guy that answers the phone (every time I have called, I have gotten the same person). He was helpful when I called and quickly scheduled my appointment. I was surprised that they were able to come out the same day! Not only the same day, but in a matter of hours they were out there to just do two tuneups. The service tech they sent out was very nice and gave me a pretty fair assessment of the system. On my asking, they sent out a sales guy the next day to quote me on a new system. As most sales people should be, he was also very nice. They present a great folder with before and after photos. They also offer a lot of nice guarantees and services with a new install. I won't get into the prices of the systems quoted, but anything A/C related costs quite a bit. This cost is where they lost two stars. One star was lost for having a much, much higher price for R22 than anyone else I contacted. The second star was lost for the way "coupons" are handled. They have some decent coupons on their website, but those have to be presented to the tech at the time of service, not when you call in to pay your bill (mine was double what I expected). I've run several different billing systems and none of them are really, ever final. Also, a tuneup is much less than I expected as it basically entails them checking a few of the key components and then hosing out the coils on the units outside. I can't really knock a star off for that though because it seems that it is par for the course in the A/C world. read more

If I could give a zero star, I would. I will never use this company again. If you do make the mistake of calling them, make sure the only person that you speak with is the technician. Never speak to a salesman, ever. Learned my lesson the hard way. I will be informing all I can before others have to learn the way I did. This company should be shut down. read more

Yeah if these guys show up with a salesman accompanying the supposed technician...then they are not there to investigate and repair anything. They are there to upsell you or get you onto their lifetime service installment plan. I had a deteriorated wire between the capacitor and the compressor causing the compressor to not fire correctly. of course these guys never looked deep enough to find it. They just came right in and wanted to sell me to a brand new system I just had to have because I'd "tariffs" and no more of some certain refrigerant, etc etc. wanting $16,000 dollars. Yes that sixteen thousand. Needless to say I ran them off (after paying the over $200) and got somebody I trust. He fount the defective wire, fixed it and I paid him $300. read more

I have used Service Experts for many years, way back to when they were Comfortech. They were a great company and still are in most areas concerning service. Outstanding service reps. I don't know what has happened recently, changing ownership or merging, but they are not the same in billing. I had a Service Plus contract for years, and recently bought new equipment and began their Advantage Program. I thought my Service Plus would be cancelled. I was wrong and was billed for four months of Service Plus which overlapped the Advantage Program. I called, got the Service Plus overlapping bills canceled and refunded. I thought all was well. I was wrong again. I received a "past due" notice for the bills that were cancelled and refunded. I called and thought again thought all was corrected. I was wrong a third time. I received a call from a person saying she was from Service Experts about my overdue payments and wanting to "confirm" my information. Thought if they knew how call me and send me bills, they had my information, and I wasn't sure I wanted to give them my information over the phone. I told they caller that I had called twice times about the overlapping bills they had been cancelled and refunded. She did not respond this and continued to ask me to "confirm" my information. I told her she could tell me and I would tell her if they were correct. I discussion went on a little longer, with me getting more and more agitated. This ended with the caller abruptly hunging up. I called the local Service Expert phone number, and they said I did not owe anything. The original Comfortech/Service Experts were a remarkably good company, and their local techs are great. I'll probably stay with them based on their service, but I am wary of their billing and accounting. read more

Comfortech Service Experts 1- I am requesting a full refund. Your technicians ran a scam on me. The 2 techs were at my home less than 2 hours. They never did get the Central unit working. When they got here the unit would cutting on but the fan was spinning in slow mode. The control board was flashing. It is now disabled. 2- They said the unit would not power up. They said the plug in the attic was bad. It was working fine. I plugged it in before they arrived, and it came on and the control board was flashing. 3- It is now disabled and not working after they finished working on it. 4- They told me that I had to have a new Central unit , for $15,000. 5- This invoice that I was emailed, says that the Balance Due is $105.93. I paid $325.28. 6- They activated my outside fan manually and said I had to replace the compressor. It has been working fine. 7- The first quote for the visit was $1,800. Then the tech said he could get it down to $900.00 today. He said that I could pay $500.00 today and set up a payment plan. 8- Then I asked to see what I was being charged $900.00 for. On that invoice was a $500.00 charge for a capacitor. I did not need it. My capacitor was working fine. I paid $25.00 at Ace hardware. 9-The next charge was $250.00 for a Transformer , My Transformer was working fine. $40.00 at Home depot. I told the tech to remove their $500.00 capacitor and the $250.00 Transformer. I paid $325.28. The invoice that I was emailed, says that the Balance Due is $105.93. I paid $325.28. While here, he kept me updated. After checking both cooling and heating, Arron informed me that everything looked good, and the system was working as expected. He provided email reports after completing the service call. The reports were complete and understandable. Prompt (too prompt! called at 2:15 for a 4pm-8pm window). Dead thermostat so no challenge to diagnose. Quick removal & install, under 30 minutes. Tech was polite. But for a Honeywell T6 thermostat (not wifi) selling around $100 retail, I paid $425 for device & installation, plus a $99 call fee. My air went out at 3am Saturday morning. I called and SOMEONE ANSWERED! Not only did they answer in the middle of the night, she got me an appointment between 10am-12 the same day. The technicians Monterius and Billy arrived at 9! They installed a completely new unit inside and out, and was finished by 3:30pm! They were awesomeeee! My initial review of this company was good, but I have since found that the technician who serviced my heater lied to me. He assured me (not once but twice) that he did tape a connection that was open where the heating ducts connect to the heater (or something like that). I went into the attic several days later and found that he had not done anything! I can not tolerate service persons lying to me. I lose all trust in them and the company. I had a problem with my HVAC, i called comfortech and made an appointment, the HVAC started working by the time they came out. They sent a tech, a salesperson and a trainee. Right from the moment the tech started to look at the outside unit he started to say the entire unit needed to be replaced there were multiple problems that were difficult to correct. They gave a written estimate for 3700 to repair with no guarantees and they were trying to sell me a service contract called the advantage plan for $200 a month for 10 years and they would replace the entire unit insde and out. I told them i would think about it and i would try and contact my realtor , ive only been in this home for a month and was advertised as a new unit. Finally found out the company that installed the unit ( less than 6 months ago) contacted them and they came out said the unit was working fine and that it was still under warranty. I then had a 3 rd HVAC company come out and check out the system. They went over the entire system for an hour could not find anything wrong and said it was working as it should. No one could say why the the unit shut off for 1 day and has worked since. I believe comfortech was totally dishonest in thier assessment and were not on a service call but a sales call. They also charged me over $200 for the service call. Please do not call this company , they are only interested in selling thier service plan which would have cost me around $24,000 over 10 years for a unit that is probably only $6-7,000 value. read more

I should've read the review here before calling them--same thing happened to me: They stated twice, on two separate occasions to two different individuals (my wife and I) that the service call fee would be waived if they did the work. At the end, when the job was completed, they said they would not waive it. I did not budge. Eventually the manager waived it. Also, be careful about up-selling. They keep suggesting products and services more than what you really need. The solution pretty much always seem to be "replace the whole HVAC unit!" On the positive side, the repairman (Dan) was very nice and professional. On time both times. They call ahead and alert you of the ETA. Manager was very calm and professional as well. This company replaced my HVAC last year and have maintained it twice annually since then. I accepted their offer for a free plumbing checkup because my hot water heated is located in the attic and it had never been checked. As expected, the water hearer had rusted through. Called comfort tech because my heat wouldn't go on but my air still worked. 2 men came and one worked on it for quite awhile compared to how long they usually stay. The next thing I know they ask me if I have a fire extinguisher and go running to their truck to get one. Smoke coming up thru my vents. I am then told it has to be replaced because now my unit is completely ruined and wont even run my air. I knew my system was older but it still ran my air. So even if I had no heat here in Mississippi that's not a big problem. So because now my system is totally ruined I get a FREE service call. "Gee that's Great"! I call the office and am talked down too by some pompous guy who states. "I know this is what you want to hear but your system was old. You got a free service call." Very dissatisfied customer! I chose comfortech because they had a coupon on their website to wave the initial consultation fee. I own a rental property and my tenants were living in the heat. I intended to fix the air conditioning as soon as possible for their comfort. I initially scheduled the technician to come out. He told me I needed a new unit and he would have to get the sales guy to call me. The initial part was good service. However, the following part makes me a dissatisfied customer. The sales guy called me back that evening. He told me I would need to schedule for him to come out as well to look at the unit and "sell" me the new unit. He stated he came out however the renter never saw him. When he called me he told me no one was home and he was only able to look at the outside unit. On the phone he stated that would not be an issue and he could get me what I needed. He stated he was driving and would call me back. He never called back. I made a return phone call the next day trying to get my renter comfortable in a timely manner. He answered and stated he would have to call me back. He never returned my phone call. I had to pay another consultation fee with another company to get them to come out in a timely manner. This company would not refund my initial "consultation fee". They are all about money and not about their customer satisfaction. They told me it was my job to call the office if I didn't hear back from the seller.
