For 25 years, I always had great customer service, I really don't know what everybody else's beef…read moreis, really don't ??? They rock !!

I received a letter in the mail from TD Bank stating that my son's account is being closed due to…read morean overdraft in the amount of $4.22. I was not sure what this was exactly about so I called the TD Bank in Hampton, NH. The girl (I did not get her name unfortunately) I spoke to stated that my son's savings account since he was a kid was overdrawn and we had to pay $4.22! I asked why I was to pay this amount and what had happened to the money that was in the savings account. The girl said that the account was charged a maintenance fee since he turned 18 years old which was almost 4 years ago. I then asked for the statements from the time he turned 18 years old to present. The girl said she would send them in the mail. I still had not received the statements two weeks later so I went to the TD Bank in Hampton, NH to speak to someone about this. The 2 tellers I spoke to a male that just started working there 2 1/2 weeks ago and a female (again I did not get their names) stated that statements cannot be sent out unless my son came in and authorized this with his ID. I said the previous person on the phone said I would receive them. They both looked at each other and said no that's not true. They both then looked at my son's account for at least 10 minutes and the female stated that they could not go back 4 years but a customer service specialist could but it would be an hour wait because there were "foreigners" opening bank accounts. This alone is very unprofessional and racist to say. My son and I could not wait an hour so we were told to go to the North Hampton, NH branch. We went to North Hampton and spoke to Danielle Elliott. I explained the situation to Danielle. Danielle stated that the tellers in Hampton ARE able to look back 4 years on the savings account and rolled her eyes. She said she would take a look. Danielle was smiling the whole time while I was not happy at all. She said that the account was charged a maintenance fee since June 2014 and that I was signed up for on-line statements. I was NOT aware of this because if I was I would have closed the account immediately. I never received any emails because again, if I were aware, I would obviously have closed the account. I then told Danielle that I have never received any emails stating that I had to access the account on-line. Danielle checked and stated that there wasn't an email address for either one of us. I then asked how I was supposed to know that this has been happening for the last 3 years! She said she wasn't sure. I told her that I never got a letter stating that this account would be subject to a maintenance fee I asked Danielle if she could please give my son the money that was in his account from the day he turned 18 years old. She then stated that she couldn't do that. I asked for her manager, Danielle stated that the manager was on lunch. I then got extremely irate and left. I would NEVER go to this bank in Hampton, NH or North Hampton, NH. I am thoroughly disgusted with this situation. I do not understand how a bank cannot refund $135 to someone that opened the savings account when he was a child trying to save some money.
