This is the WORST bank ever!! I have had nothing but problems and today is the last of this, I am closing my account as soon as my direct deposit goes to my other bank. I was told that it takes 2 weeks to transfer and it's "not them it's my employer". We'll see about that. I went in yesterday to cash in some coins. The coin machine was not working, so I went back today. There was an elderly man trying to use the machine. He clearly did NOT know what he was doing. One of the tellers was standing outside taking up an entire parking spot and looked at me, did nothing. I would have been in there before this man had she gotten out of the way. My coins took 1 minute after waiting for 25 minutes to use the machine. Instead of helping the man, the tellers are just standing there without anyone in line talking. The girl with the black and white hair was extremely rude to me. I asked her why she can't help this man and she just stared at me. She then came up with "he was here first". I was there first but couldn't park because the teller was in the way with the man's door wide open. She was helping him bring in jars and jars of pennies. Then she leaves him to shake pennies out of bottles for 25 minutes. He had almost jammed the machine. Then he said he had to go get more coins out of his car. What the tellers could have done was just cashed out what he had so far and added the slips together. "No, that's not an option". Neither is hand counting change, I get "we can't do that either". They also could have helped this man, but chose not to. I am disabled and was in excruciating pain waiting for this 25 minute transaction to be over. As soon as I am able to see my direct deposit, I am done with this bank. Branches are closing, they do not have cash back checking anymore. Instead they punish you if you don't have $500.00 in your account each month and charge a $5.00 "maintenance fee". Their hours are awful. Closed on Saturdays. Another time I went in there and closed an overdraft protection loan because I paid it off, they didn't close it. I see my account still there with fees on it which went to my son's account. If you are considering doing ANY business with this bank, you should definitely think twice. It is a horrible bank with horrible customer service. read more

These guys are great. Always courteous and helpful. They have been known to waive a fee or two. Great hours including Sunday! When you call them an actual human picks up instead of a machine. Nice old fashioned service with modern products. read more

Irresponsible with your money. Accidentally activated my debit/ atm cards when I reported I did not receive them the week before. After being confronted, the manager told me I should switch bank and offered no apologies. Before this incident, the bank took 2 weeks to notify us a bad check was deposited. Other banks only take one to two business days to notify you in person or on the phone. Provident Bank claimed that's the way they operate and has no intention to change it. Anything goes wrong, the one excuse the manager uses--the head quarter screws up. The management will tell you they will get bank to you about it...don't hold your breath...they don't follow up with calls. The most disorganized small bank I have ever encountered. The changes that have been going on at the Provident Bank over the past year are very very annoying. They have cut back hours (no more Saturday service, except in 2 branches), canceled cash back checking, no more overdraft protection, and then recently they forced everyone using Quicken or Quickbooks to disconnect and then reconnect their accounts. Of course that did not go well and I still have not be able to reconnect the accounts I have with them. Why the Quicken debacle? Because they changed the bill pay vendor. Do I use bill pay, NO. Could anyone at the bank help me? NO. I'm not sure how much longer I can do business with a company that is purposely trying to aggravate customers. read more

I arrived at the bank yesterday to get some information on a new account, I was promptly greeted by a Relationship Specialist named Danielle, she of course asked what brought me to the bank. I had explained to her that I would like to open a new checking account. She answered all, and I mean all of my questions as there were quite a few, to make sure I had the account that account that was right for me. There were so many benefits that I had no hesitation in opening the account. Along the way we ran into some minor issues. Danielle took the time and had the patience to make sure that we were able to open the account. If she didn't know the answer she called to make sure she got the right answer, which to me was really dedicated. Well after spending close to 2 hours at the bank my account was finally opened. After leaving I felt like I was treated so good and I am definitely glad I made the decision to open an account with this bank. Their customer service is what makes Provident Bank a really great bank. read more
