I was really surprised by how expensive it ended up being this last time I went. I ordered one chimichanga, a small queso, and two margaritas--and the total came out to around $60. The food was average at best, and while I tried to ask about the pricing, communication was a bit difficult. For a casual, college spot like this, $12 margaritas and that kind of total felt way too high for what I got. Also, service was the worst I've had so far. I ordered a chimichanga a la cart (would have been around $5) but was given and charged for the meal. Then ordered and received a small queso, but was charged for a large. I would have said something to my server, but we couldn't find him for the entirety of our meal. I had also asked for a box and a bowl for the queso, but never got them. My original total was $53, and usually I would leave a tip, but the service didn't warrant it. However, I woke up this morning to my total being changed to $59.60. None of the other people at my table were charged a gratuity like that, so I'm confused why I was. Overall, I am confident in saying I won't be back. read more

On 10-28-2024 I called in a order of razorback fajitas and picked them up around 2 and paid 16.98, around 4 hours later my phone dinged with another charge for 7 dollars that i did not athorize, i called the restaurant 6 times and was immediately hung up on 3 times but on the 6th time i finally got someone to stay on the phone, she immediately knew what order i was talking about and started saying someone must have accidentally charged my card but she had the receipt immediately and said my name before she even asked me, I am positive they were giving themselves a tip and got caught making a fraudulent charge, the meal was ok, a little on the small side but it always seems to be hit and miss with serranos food and service, I will not be going back and we have eaten at serranos almost weekly ever since they opened. read more

I can't stomach this place anymore. I don't know what's happened but the the last few times I've been here the food has been absolute TRASH. This place was our #1 pick for Mexican but now I'm done, will not go back. Last night I ordered a Burrito that came to me COLD. The meat, cheese sauce, all of it was cold. The last couple times I've eaten here they served me the most disgusting flour tortilla shells I've ever seen or tasted. They were clearly not cooked thoroughly and were doughy and moist almost as if they were greasy. Who in the hell would send those out of the kitchen. Popped in for a Sunday family lunch. We ordered cheese dip for an appetizer. It came out a little cold but was corrected very quickly. I ordered the Conway special (rice, chicken, veggies and cheese dip) it was really good and they give you enough for two meals. I also ordered two tacos lenguas (beef tongue) they were very tasty infact 3/4 kids liked them until I told them what it was! Kids! I ordered pollo Ala Diablo which is not on the menu... they did offer the shrimp Ala diablo... so I figured they could do the chicken ok... The plate looked beautiful the ambiance is great as I've been here before... For anyone who knows Ala Diablo sauce... it doesn't include BBQ sauce... I am so disappointed I can't explain it I've eaten this plate in many states around this country and I usually have to tell them to make it hot... this lace...(Mexicans?) I would give 0 stars if I could! Came to this place to enjoy Mexican food and drinks with a friend who came in from out of town! Prior to ordering drinks, we asked what drinks were on happy hour and were informed the margaritas were $3.59. In addition to that, I ordered a ranchero special (chicken, steak, shrimp, and veggies) and was given chicken, cheese, and rice. When I brought my incorrect order to the waitress' attention she told me I was wrong and continued to tell me I was wrong. We got our checks back and our margaritas were $7.27 and I was charged for the meal I did not receive which was $4 more than the meal I did receive. I asked to speak to the manager and she told me I had no other choice than to pay it. I informed her that I asked her employee what the price was prior to ordering. Totally delighted to see the in-house dining open again during this pandemic. Sanitary guidelines being strictly observed, wonderful to see the regular staff back. Service was excellent, charro beans the best they have ever been and the draft beer was cold and very inexpensive. As long as they keep up the good work, I will visit them often. LOL, but don't tell that I brought my own sanitizing wipes and surreptitiously sanitized the table after I sat down. And refrained from touching everything I could that I had not sanitized. My husband and I eat dinner at this restaurant once a week. I mean "used to". We went here to celebrate our New Year's eve as a newly married couple because we enjoy it so much. We were supremely disappointed in our service as regulars. Normally we would've been charged $40-$50 for each of us to to have a meal and a drink. Tonight we were charged almost $7 for a HOUSE SHOT of tequila when they're normally $2.75. We had 2 of our normal drinks (NO FOOD) each and our bill was almost $60!!!!!! I usually come to Yelp to read reviews especially when trying a place for the first time. We were traveling to Conway for a family funeral over the weekend during the snow/ice. Due to the weather our after dinner plans were cancelled. We saw the "Open" sign on and we decided to order some food to togo. We were greeted warmly and we asked if we could sit and order some drinks as we waited for our food. The bartender was great. He took our food order and made us some Don Julio margaritas. My gosh, we typically make margaritas at home because they are never really any good anywhere else we have been but wow, their Don Julio Margs were the best we have had out. Unfortunately for us, food was prompt or else we would have stayed for another round. We just came from a funeral but we had such a great experience, it made the day less sad. We are from California and we hope to come back to Conway again in the future and will definitely be back! We had the Razorback Fajitas, Pollo Serrano, Ranchero special and of course more cheese dip than a normal person should have. Their salsa is also so flavorful and the bartender packed us extra. Nice little Mexican restaurant. We went around 3pm so missed lunch and a bit early for dinner so the place was nearly dead. Staff were very polite however we were seated with 4 adults and 1 child. We were given 3 adult menus..ok. So we asked for a fourth menu and it was brought quickly. Then we asked if we could have a child's menu? Oh! Yes! Brought it right away. WTHeck? Ok so food...I need to tell you we are from N.M. And grow hatch green chili, big Jim's, Cayenne and jalapeño peppers in our back yard. We have been to Mexico and know what to expect from an authentic Mexican restaurant. This is not it. That being said we knew where we were and did not have super high hopes. The table chips and salsa were basic. I ordered a 3 combo dinner plate with a tamale, beef enchilada and tostada with guacamole on it. I think they called it a guactada? My husband got what they called a supper plate or dinner plate... basically a combination platter. I ordered mine with red and green chili. Hubby got red only. Service and food delivery was good/average. Right away I could tell I did not get the beef enchilada...but in fact a cheese in tortilla folded in half..? My "tamale" definitely was from frozen package of some kind, definitely not made in the restaurant. BUT my guactada was what I expected. Tasted good and fresh. Only wish it came out on a different plate because it was swimming in the sauce. That brings me to the sauce. What in the world are they doing in that kitchen? Nasty. No flavor. Bitter. Zero heat. Also asked for red and green. Only got red. The red was straight from a can. Nasty. We ordered Tortas, my husband ordered his with no mayo so they brought it dry. Fries were hot but not fully cooked; still hard. Sandwiches didn't have all of the toppings that the menu said comes on them & this is not the first time I've ordered it. Server barely spoke or understood English so it was difficult placing our order. When my husband complained about the fries she got who I'm assuming was a manager & she wasn't much better. After telling her the fries weren't done she looked dumbfounded & asked if we needed anything. After we got our check she did come back & ask what exactly what was wrong with the sandwiches & I told her the fries weren't done & our sandwiches were missing toppings. The melted white cheese was perfect for dipping and my sampler platter gave me a nice taste of a variety of dishes. I especially liked the Chili Relleno. I decided to visit the Serranos Mexican Grill in Conway today after a few people expressed to me how tasty the food they'd had was. I was going to place a to go order, so I went and stood at the order counter to wait for service. Two workers came up to the counter, exchanged some money and talked amongst themselves. Me, ready to engage, smiled at them and initiated a conversation stating that I'd like to place an order. No smiles offered back, and one of the employees looked up at me said "yea" and went back to engaging with his employee. I thought "ok, not a very good first impression, but ok...I'll wait for the person they will surely send to take my order". After about 6-7 minutes a couple and their two children came in and stood behind me waiting to be seated. I asked them if they had been there before and if they knew where I needed to place a to go order. They informed me that I was in the right place. Maybe a minute later, a worker walks up to the front and grabs menus, and though I was standing clearly in the front of now two families, I was not acknowledged as they asked if the others were ready to be seated. The couple directly behind me tells the worker that I was there first, at which point he then looks at me and I smile and tell him that I'd like to place a to go order. He says, someone will come and proceeds to seat the others behind me. At this point I was ready to walk back out of the establishment the way I came in, but I decided to stay and observe. I watched several workers walk back and forth, some serving those who were seated at tables and some just standing around in the kitchen. The restaurant was not crazy busy. Not once did I witness either of the two workers I'd previously engaged with alert anyone to my presence and need to place an order. So, I watched...and watched. I am honestly heated at this point. Then after a few more minutes (I'd been waiting well over 10 minutes now with no initiated acknowledgement), a lady walks behind the counter and asks if she could help me. I smile, and asked if she was Management - she replied that she was. I proceeded to tell her that I had been waiting for a while to have my order taken. I told her that people who came in behind me were almost immediately seated, while I was not acknowledged. All while smiling and keeping a professional tone, I then told her that after telling two workers that I needed to place an order, no one was eager to come and take my order so I was no longer going to place an order but wanted to wait around for someone to share what had happened. I thanked her and left. She tried to stop me and offer me something as I left. I turned around and wanted to say #ItsAboveMeNow, but I simply said "no thank you" instead. I've never felt so disregarded at any restaurant establishment to this point. It's quite alright though. I will keep my patronage at Las Palmas where I am always greeted, welcomed, and where my dollars are appreciated. read more

I've eaten there twice now, once when it first opened and again a couple months after, both times were equally awful. I had the same waiter both times, and he was beyond incompetent and has no place in the service industry. From refilling drinks, to getting more chips, to taking orders.
