I've gone to Papitos a few times and after trying a few different menu items, I would say that the food here is decent, and that there's definitely better Mexican spots within a 10 minute drive. Unlike the other reviews for this restaurant, I've actually always had great service whenever I've come here. As for the ambiance, it's weird. I've had days where I come in and they're blasting music, and days where I've come in and it's dead silent, either way it's always a tiny bit awkward. read more

3/24/26 Been calling since 646pm I get here and make my order, I'm still calling & the phone is just ringing, the short lady is just ignoring the phone ringing, no one is attempting to pick up the phone. Old management would at least answer the phone. I expected more for a $15 burrito. I got home and was very disappointed. The burrito was described as "jumbo" and it was definitely not. The burrito barely had any meat and the meat was dry. The place was empty and I can see why. I finished it and I'm still hungry. read more

Three of us ate there, all getting different plates. All of it was extremely salty. We got the check and I wondered how it could be so high. One beer was $9.99, they add extra for cheese sauce that they make seem like is just an option. They then add a credit card service charge. I decided to pay cash to avoid that and when I went to the register to pay my change should have been $31.42 she gave me $31.00 and said nothing, like they just keep your change. The food was good.. I had the grande burrito and my husband had enchiladas Mexicanos. The food was hot, and it was good, but NOT the best. The ambience was quiet with quiet Mexican music playing in the background. I loved that . The problem my husband and I had was the poor service. We had to wait for close to ten minutes for the girl to break away from flirting with one of the male waiters to take our order. Moreover, She didn't check on us after delivering our food, not once. Lastly, I excused myself from the table and went to the restroom. Upon walking back to my table, I asked for a box. The girl was hanging all over the counter... swooning over every word this guy said. Bottom line: if you don't want to do your job, then quit and find a new one! First of all, let me say that the food was excellent. My wife and I really enjoyed the chips and salsa. She ordered her "go to" meal, which is the chicken chimichanga. I ordered two chimichangas à la carte - one chicken and one beef. She has probably had chimichangas from no less than 25-30 Mexican restaurants. She said this one ranked up there near the top. I wasn't really wanting rice and beans this time so I simply ordered mine à la carte. The beef chimichanga was excellent. I wasn't as impressed with the chicken, but I prefer beef anyway, so this wasn't a strike against them. My only complaint is with the service we received. After our food was brought out, we did not see our server again until after we were finished eating and ready for the check. We were offered no refills at all. When the check was given to me, I saw that they charged me for two individual chimichangas ($5.99 each) instead of the menu price for two chimichangas ($9.99). To their credit, they changed my ticket and I was charged the menu price. The food was great, the prices were reasonable, but the service was poor. All that being said, my wife enjoyed her chimichanga so much that she wants to go back and give them another shot the next time we're in town. If I find that the service is much better and that they were simply having a bad day, I will amend this review and bump it up a star or two. read more

This was the worst Mexican I've ever had. I literally ate three bites from the three things I ordered (mini chimi, burrito with red sauce and a taco) I looked at my wife and said this is nasty and pushed my food away. My wife ordered a daiquiri that wasn't very good but she was trying to drink it. They asked her how it was and she told them it wasn't great and the lady started talking crap in Spanish like we don't speak it. It was on Saturday around 2:30. We were seated and given chips and salsa in a timely manner. They were not busy but it took a long time to get our order out for only 3 people. But my veggie quesadilla tasted burned and only had mushrooms and spinach. Expected onions and bell peppers too; with a little sour cream. Male server barely spoke English; didn't check on us. While the margarita isn't as good as mine (mine is a killer), it was dilicioso! Great atmosphere. I had fun sharing a large margarita with my wife, enjoying the fresh salsa and homemade chips, and the the Chicken Burrito Loco, the beef enchilada combo. I highly recommend you come hungry. This is my go to Mexican restaurant when in North Little Rock/Jacksonville, AR area. I have been here multiple times. The food is quick and delicious with a healthy portion size, making it a good value. They do have an outdoor patio area, a nice bonus during these covid times. Take out is also an option. I've started going there and ordering food to go. I've been tempted to run to the grocery store near buy to pick up some milk and cereal for the next morning and come back, but they food comes out so quickly, I'm better off just waiting a few minutes. Papitos offers a military discount, surely attracting many of the military members working at and living near the Air Force base just a couple miles up the road. read more

Excellent food and service, the place wasn't very busy, probably due to the insane amount of road construction going on right there. Just stopped for a quick lunch on our way home from Little Rock. I won't come back here. We were thankful Papitos was open and not packed to the brim however service sucked from the minute we walked in. The person at the host stand saw the line, rolled their eyes and sighed loudly... Excuse me? Once we are seated we got drinks but after that we weren't sure who our server was and where they were. We got our plates one or two at a time and waited another fifteen minutes for silverware. The food was not good, greasy and not even grilled...just heated up. Outstanding, excellent is how I would describe our experience. We only ordered dips chips and a pitcher of Margaritas. Par excellence! The quacamole dip had too much cilantro for me but I don't care for it so I will throw that one out. The salsa was good , while the papitos cheese dip and bean dip were Outstanding! This past Sunday, some business colleagues and I decided to enjoy lunch at a fine Mexican dining establishment in the Jacksonville area. Unfortunately, we chose wrong when we chose Papitos. The restaurant was absolutely dead when we arrived with maybe 2 other tables seated. We did have a large impromptu party, however it should never take an hour before your order is even taken. This poor uneducated Mamacita even got my drink order wrong on 3 separate occasions, bringing me unsweet tea. On the 4th I requested Pepsi, but Mami was clearly deaf because she returned with another tea, this time lightly sprinkled with sugar. After nearly 2 hours, over half of my parties orders were more messed up than a pile of wire hangers behind a planned parenthood clinic. My Enchiladas Supremas looked like a sad pile of tortilla, lettuce, cheese, and sour cream, drowning in a sea of red sauce like that cat Phil Collins let drown in the single In The Air Tonight. Upon complaining, absolutely nothing was comped, there were no apologies, and anyone paying cash got only bills back, no change.
