Great food and great prices. This little spot was a surprise. We were moving my daughter in to an apartment down the way and wanted some lunch. Saw this place as we were driving by. Decided to give it a chance. We were seated quickly. Staff was very friendly. Food came out hot and fresh. Some of the best Mexican food we've had in ages. Great cheese dip. I don't know how this restaurant garnished a 4-star rating, but giving it a 2 is generous. I stopped by and ordered chili Verde to go. It took about 12 minutes, which is very reasonable. The price was reasonable also and about average. However, the Verde was not chunks of pork, as it should be, but sort of shredded up and there was not really any Verde sauce visible. It was extremely salty and difficult to eat. The refried beans were not very good and the rice was so-so. It also had green peas in it for some ungodly reason and they were shriveled up as if they were really old. The salsa isn't really salsa, but a watery concoction without any texture and no spice at all to it. It is really pretty much like tomato juice. Out of the sea of Mexican and Tex-Mex options in Conway, this one is my favorite. The food is great. The menu is diverse. The staff is top-notch when it comes to speed, reliability, and friendliness. The salsa always tastes fresh, and the chips are made in-house. They're one of the few places in town that still offers a good punch to drink, as well. I always give every new restaurant a chance when they open, but there's yet to be one that has pulled me from Tio's for more than a single trip. read more

Was not a fan. Our waiter was awesome and couldn't ask for more but as soon as we were seated we were given salsa covered menus.....kinda gross. Started off with a small cheese dip......a room temperature small cheese dip. The chips were hotter than the cheese. Wife and I both ordered the Rice w/ Shrimp which is rice, shrimp, cheese sauce. The shrimp was not de-veined so if you like that gritty dirt texture in your food, this is just the meal for you. Other than that it's your basic run of the mill Mexican joint, not sure we will be back. read more

Serving sizes were small, food was tasteful and service was OK. Decor is interesting, not certain if they carved and painted each chair themselves or brought everything up from Mexico. The special was table side guacamole, so I ordered a large.....what I received was avocado dressing dip, chips were cold but fresh and crisp. Not sure who made the salsa, it was not like anything I had ever been served before. Canned tomatoes that had been seasoned??????? Not sure, I guess living in California has spoiled me. The absolute best part about having moved to Conway is living near Tio's. Tex-Mex is my favorite Food Group and an all you can eat Lunch of Tex-Mex is my Heaven. I'm are not talking about just one or two small items on the all you can eat either. Staff is friendly and my Tea Glass was never empty. And did not have to wait for next round of food either, next round delivered as soon as I finished a plate, even when Restaurant is packed. To top it off, this is one of the first Restaurants to not give me Sweet Tea instead of Unsweetened Tea during a refill. Bathrooms are clean, which is important to me. Cannot say enough good things about this place. Five Stars are not enough, at least a 7 or 8 Star. read more

Tio's is pretty much the same Tex Mex menu that everyone around town here has, but it's got a few different variations and a tad bit better quality that help it stand out a little bit. Decent polite service and prices. Probably not a go- out-of-your-way-for spot, but decent enough and better than some of the other nearby Mexican spots (I'm looking right at you, Serrano's). Loved the free chips and salsa- the best we've had in Conway! DH had the Tio's Special Dinner- taco, tostada, chili relleno, tamale, enchilada and rice and beans. I had the carnitas plate which came with tortillas and rice and beans. DD had the kids taco meal. The decor was cute- lots of hand carved stuff. The special dinner was good but not excellent, per DH. Best thing was the chili relleno- yummy cheese. Worst thing was the tamale- too much masa. I thought the carnitas were very good. Tasty and broiled until crispy. Overall, we would go back. Before Tio's in Conway, we'd drive to Maumelle for Mexican. Nope. Save gas, save time and save money at Tio's. On our first visit, we had the $6.49 all you can eat special. That way, we'd get to sample a variety of items to determine some of our quick favorites. Choice of burritos, tacos, chile relleno, enchiladas, tamales, taco salad, tostadas, or rice and beans will fill you up and leave you happy. Well, for under $7, we haven't stopped ordering the special unless it's Sunday or after 3pm. Husband gets the chicken nachos or I get the chimichangas. Teens order quesadillas if it's not lunch. We haven't been disappointed, yet. Cheese dip is a tad runny, but okay flavor. we mix the salsa and queso and it's great! Our fav is the fresh, hot tortilla chips. Yum! read more

Not for the first time I did not get a menu until asking when someone came to get my second beer order. No one stuck around long enough when I got my first beer order for me to ask for one. Seriously, you seat someone and don't offer a menu? And no one came to get my food order. I had to ask another waiter for my third beer order - and based on past experience I asked for my ticket at the same time. No point in waiting for someone to finally take my order when I am getting ready to leave. Considering they were just not that busy I just don't get it. Plus they don't have any beer I would want on tap and I can buy my own bottled beer a heck of a lot cheaper at the liquor store. So think I will just make a visit to the liquor store and cook my own food. Don't have to wait nearly so long for orders from my own kitchen. Come on, people. If you want to stay in business, you need to get off your butts and take care of your clients. read more

This is not a good place to eat. Totally dissatisfied with the rude, emotional waiter. I first ordered the Tios shrimp and it had a bad aftertaste. I told my waiter that I was not satisfied with the bad taste of the red sauce. He got frustrated and took my food but called me crazy as he walked away. I reported his insult to the manager. They changed my order to steal and shrimp.Daniel the manager was courteous and he got my second order out quickly, but the steak tasted stale or old (recooked or sitting out for a while). This restaurant has history of poor customer service. I knew this going in hoping that the new management would turn things around. It didn't happen today November 4th 2018 around 530pm. Great food and great service is the standard, Always. Sorry Tio owner you are missing the mark with emotional and hateful waiters. read more
