The restaurant experience at SERRANO (Berlin) has two parts: Vorspeise and Hauptspeise.
The tapas + ceviche + tamales was quite good! I give credit where credit is do. We were praising the place, and had high hopes for the main dishes...ohhh what a disappointment was the second part...
Three of us ordered the lomo salteado....it was sooooo sad. If you check the pictures on the webpage, you will see a colorful dish, with tomato and/or paprika on top....the real dish was the saddest lomo salteado I've ever seen and had! Totally dark-brown and absolutely no vegetables (just a bit of onion), are you freaking kidding me????!!!! I've been several times to Peru and I have lived there for two months, I know the cuisine! So don't try to sell me some crappy substitute. The meat was really dry too, as if it was grilled, and the put in the oven for too long, so all the juices were gone. Not good at all!!!
I must say, this place was ridiculously overpriced, i've had way better lomo salteado in Lima for 4dls as the freaking 18€ they over-charge. DISAPPOINTING!!!!!!!!
But I must admit the dessert was delicious: suspiro limeño.
Conclusion: One can go there for Vorspeise und Nachspeise, do not order Hauptgericht.
As a final note I must say I feel utterly tricked. There were awesome pictures on yelp and the website and I feel I got crap! I forgot to mention that someone ordered the seco de cordero, and on yelp it appears with 5 juicy pieces of meat...they gave us two small and sad pieces.... And they had the balls to charge us 22€ for two pieces of nothing!!! EMBARRASSING!!!
This leaves me with an awful feeling... as if they wanted to swindle (con and deceit) their costumers. Sad image! I correct my previous two star review to a one star, because I am really angry to see such deceitful pictures of their dishes and, I nor my companions, had any of that and paid a shit load of money for a crappy quality food.
Oh, Qué vergüenza que me hicieron pasar en este restaurante. A cualquier latinoamericano (o alemán) que me pregunte, estaré advirtiéndole sobre este sitio. al dueño o chef del restaurante consejo: Si no tiene todos los productos disponibles para hacer un plato de buena calidad, por el que va a cobrar tanto dinero, NO ABRA EL RESTAURANTE!!
