Much of the experience could be improved immediately by emailing forms ahead of time. The use of skilled personnel for typing is a waste. At this rate it's less frustrating and more timely to fly to another city for an exam.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Diabetes & Endocrinology Specialists of El Paso…read more Unfortunately, the issue is not a one-time bad day -- the wait times have been consistently unreasonable. The shortest wait I have ever experienced was about 2.5 hours. On multiple occasions, my total time from walking in the door to leaving has been over 4.5 hours. Today, my appointment was scheduled in the morning, and it is now 1:30 PM and I am still waiting. There is no sense of urgency or respect for patients' time. As a patient managing diabetes, I have learned that I cannot come here without bringing juice and glucose because I know I may be waiting for hours. Patients should not have to plan for a medical appointment as if they are preparing for an all-day event. The front desk experience has also been disappointing. When patients express concerns, the response is often that there is nothing staff can do. There are signs posted about only patients being allowed in the waiting room, yet there are frequently entire families present, children running around, loud phone conversations, and videos playing without headphones. A waiting room in a medical office should be a place where patients can rest and feel comfortable. If policies are posted, they should be consistently enforced. I understand that medical offices get busy, but patients also have jobs, responsibilities, and medical needs. How are patients expected to maintain employment and insurance when appointments regularly require missing half a day or more of work? I truly wish El Paso had more options for endocrinology care. Patients deserve better communication, reasonable wait times, and respect for their time.
