Went in today with my wife and 2 sons. The food was good but we had a miserable waitress. She was rude to me when I asked her if our appetizer would be out before to pizza, I told her thank you when she brought the appetizer out and she did not reply, I asked for a box to take what was leftover of our pizza and she brought me a small styrofoam box so I had to ask for a 2nd box, I asked her for a drink refill before I left and she filled it up halfway. The worst part was shortly after we left my son realized he left his prescription sunglasses on the table. When we went back and asked her about them, she told him that any customer belongings left behind were thrown away. She then preceded to show him the trash can and he had to dig them out. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced. We will never consider this restaurant again. read more

With a slight cheesy name, pun intended, and in a strip mall, I figured this will most likely be mediocre pizza. As they say, like mediocre sex, still pretty good. It was actually quite amazing. Sgt. Peps may not have the organic/natural selection or atmosphere of The Tomato Head or Hard Knox, but it makes up for it in what matters most, taste. This is more a quasi-deep dish/pan pizza with a ton of cheese and ingredients. I have seen some new pizza places popping up in other cities that throw on a few round slices of mozzarella and a couple of basil leaves and call it done, but not these guys. Tons of greasy goodness and loads of toppings. Try the Buffalo Chicken pizza. Cost is a bit higher than say, Pizza Hut, but would you really eat there? The service is good and it helps that there are only about 8 tables total. A bar and TV for sports fans and desserts though I'm always feeling like a gorging Roman after the pizza. If you are looking for more, I don't know, substance than Hard Knox or Tomato Head give this place a try. Pizza, especially this pizza, is even better when it's the next day. read more

I have been driving by Sgt 's for a while and thinking I need to try that but never did. Well I finally did and hate myself for waiting so long to stop in! My wife and I both had calzones and LOVED them. I ordered the Sargie Special she ordered the Veggie both were crisp not soggy like too many calzones. Also we both had minor special requests which were met with an OK without a blink from the waitress. Finally the waitress was very good at her job she was very friendly and attentive and made you feel like she was truly glad you were there. I've passed this place for a while and had heard decent things from friends. I was in the mood for a calzone so we checked this place out. Ordered parmesan garlic sticks as a starter. By far the best part of the meal. They were soft, warm, and decently flavorful. The only complaint would be that they were pretty small. We also got two calzones, the Ally Pie and the Pop-Eye. The Pop-Eye was busting with flavor and had a great combination of toppings. The Ally Pie seemed overwhelmingly peppery, probably due to the great number of pepperoncinis. It wasn't bad, but the only thing I tasted was bland veggies. As for the crust, it was great. The calzones weren't artificially fluffy and had a great crispiness to the outside and soft on the inside. Really well done. They have a limited beer selection, but low prices and good service. I saw one waiter working the whole room, but there wasn't a lot to do. The only real complaint was how long it took for my food to come out. I get that pizza takes a while to cook, but from the time the appetizer came out to the time the calzones came out was a good while. I'm curious what their pizza tastes like, but if it's anything like the calzones, I'm going to be a huge fan. read more

Why have I never been here before. Totally satisfying meal. Pros: Great pizza. We had a large combination and it served 4 of us. Delicious. Comfortable interior. Great server. Good selection of beer including micro-brews. Unusual deserts for a pizza joint, yum. My fiance and I just moved into the neighborhood and decided to try out Sergeant Pepperoni's one night. I'm so glad we did because everything about it was awesome. Service was quick and the pizza was DELISH. We got the supreme pizza and the toppings and crust were cooked to perfection. The staff was extremely nice and they even boxed up our food and gave us extra sauces and fixins for our left overs. AND THEY DELIVER which is awesome because I was tired of Papa Johns and Dominos. Was hanging out at Bearden Beer Market and needed some grub. Called Sergeant and they confirmed they would walk the pizza over, so I ordered a large pepperoni pie. This pizza reminds me of Pizza Hut's pan pizza, but, well, good. It's got the thicker pan style crust that is fairly greasy but surprisingly crisp - not thin crust crisp, but crisp for a pan style pizza. There was an ample amount of pepperoni which created more grease pooling in with the cheese. The sauce had a decent flavor, a miracle I could taste it through the cheese and pepperoni. Let me be clear, this is not healthy food. This is not gourmet food. This is not pizza with fresh pulled mozzarella, spinach, and roasted garlic. I love those types of pizzas, but I also occasionally want a greasy slice of pepperoni unhealthy goodness. That is usually the same time I'm drinking a beer. This makes the Sergeant a perfect pairing when I'm drinking late night at Bearden Beer Market. The ingredients in this pie were pretty decent and the flavor was good. All-in-all it was a totally respectable pie. The price, however, was a little unreasonable. 16 bucks w/ tax for a large pepperoni. I don't know, seems high to me. 12-14 would have been more reasonable. I will certainly be ordering again, though, most likely at Bearden Beer Market, but also maybe if I just want a seriously unhealthy slice of pepperoni. read more

Look here. I grew up in New York, so my pizza opinion is obviously worth more than yours. The folks here make a quality pie. I've eaten here a few times now and am never disappointed. The crustal thickness is perfect, and they go a little lighter on the sauce/cheese, which really allows the girls (toppings) to shine. They have great specials Sunday through thursday. On Tuesday, the pizzas are half off if you dine in. The Sarge cares about you. She didn't have to be so generous, but she continues to be. read more

The pizza I must say was delicious. However the cashier/waitress was not overly friendly by a long shot. That didn't bother me. What DID bother me is that my son accidentally left his prescription sunglasses on the table. Within 5 minutes we were back. My son asked about the glasses and she told him that they dispose of items patrons leave behind. Seriously within 5 minutes they just throw away whatever you left????? So my son asks nicely where that might be and she hands him the trash can. She doesn't even have the decency to grab them out and give them to him. I am from New York and always on the look out for a good pizza. When I read the reveiws on yelp about this place I thought it would be worth the extra miles to try ou thier pizza. I was very disappointed. I ordered their naked pie, since that's the best way to tell if they know what they are doing. Well they dont. They make a pan style pie but there is so much grease on the pie it glistens when the bring it to the table. The cheese was burnt and lacked flavor. After adding salt pepper and grated cheese to add flavor I tried a slice. The Greece was just dropping down my arm and the crust was under cooked as well. I did not try anything else on the menu but if you can't make a decent plain cheese pie hoe can you make a calzone. Maybe they should just stick to sandwiches. Very disappointed. Sorry. Oh yea I took two slices home for my son to try. When we were heating them up in the toaster oven there was so much grease that it dripped down in the burners of the toaster oven and the whole kitchen was filled with smoke and the smoke alarm went off. I found this place during a break time and wanted a casual atmosphere with some simple, good food, what luck that I found it. I've tried two sandwiches here and they were both too much for me to finish. These guys are cool and casual and they make their sandwiches the same way. Big bread, plenty of meat and cheese and whatever veggies you want, just relax, they'll take care of you. You want extra cheese on your pizza? You'll actually get extra cheese on your pizza! Enjoy your big sandwich with some tasty barbecue chips (the kind with ridges) and a bigger than your face fountain drink (the unsweet tea was strong the way I like it). They have a tv at the bar and they'll actually change it to a movie if you want instead of just whatever sports game is on. These guys know how to live. read more

Ok, I have ordered here twice now, and this place is amazing! It is now most definitely my favorite pizza in town! The help is amazing also! I called to see if they use bagged salad mix because I am allergic to all The MSG and preservatives in bagged salad mix. The hostess was so nice and helpful and even went back into the kitchen to make sure, and assured me they do not use it but they chop their own fresh, and you could sure tell! The chicken salad was good also, and they made it with cherries in it. I highly recommend that you go to this place. It is located in Bearden and they have another location at Cedar Bluff. This is one of those places that would be easy to dismiss because it is in a strip mall and the interior is not particularly appealing, but the pizza will keep you coming back. It was my first time there. I split the Popeye with my parents, and we thought it was delicious. They were more than generous with the toppings, and the flavor was terrific. But then you decide hey how about I try some decent pizza today so maybe I'll try this new place because pepperonis is in the title and pepperonis are good. So you look at the menu and hey these selections look creative and the ingredient pairing is genius. And then you think, ok, sure I will pay $14 for a medium pizza. Then you do, and you get your order and its completely full of toppings and you can bet they don't skimp. You take a bite and think, "HUGE MISTAKE; WHY DIDN'T I ORDER A LARGE." Usually after eating pizza you don't feel great about it or yourself but after eating Sergeant Pepperoni's your only regret is that it is gone and you don't have more to eat now or later.
