Care Quality is Unacceptable…read more Phone lines were constantly down, making it impossible to reach anyone. I placed a food delivery order for my loved one that was very specific -- it clearly stated on the label of the bag to hand the order directly to "said patient. I confirmed with several staff members that the order was received, yet the patient never got it. This was a $46.00 meal for my fat, and no one at the facility can explain what happened to it. When patients are already saying the food provided is not edible, and then outside food meant to help is never delivered, it becomes not just disappointing but unacceptable. The lack of accountability, communication, and basic follow-through is negligent. When you entrust a facility with the care of a loved one, the very least you expect is honesty and reliability. Unfortunately, this facility has failed in both.

Yet once Michele White the caseworker took over, she dropped the ball. Although she was the one that shared a listing of providers for cremation, she failed to enter that information under my step-fathers case. Once he passed, the nurse Jariah called a company that is contracted by Harris County to come pick him up as if his family did not already complete our due diligence and make the final arrangements. My step-father was picked up from his assisted living facility and taken away like he was trash and an inconvenience. I had to call around looking for him in the time when we should be able to grieve our loss. Instead, I was forced to contact another company that I didn't even know existed and complete some documents to have him released to the provider we originally selected. No apology was offered. No sorry for your loss. Only call I received was for the family to be blamed for everything. Their staff acted as if our family was not proactive and caring enough to make the final arrangements in a timely manner. I highly recommend to find another hospice provider. These people a cut throat salesmen looking for the newest victims to target. They tell you everything they think you need to hear and once you sign the paperwork, they forget you exist. These people do NOT care about the patient but the billing. e were failed and yet we were the problem. Sadly no one cared nor were they concerned. Run and do not look back.

He greets him by putting himself at my husband's level to talk with him, as he has dementia/Parkinson's & currently bedridden. I feel Asad is one of God's earthly angels! Lilly, our Hospice nurse, is an absolute gem! She visits 2x a week, checks him from head to toe and provides impeccable care...always gentle, very caring & helpful in so many ways. The staff that I have met/talked with genuinely care and always available to help with our needs...equipment,meds, supplies quickly provided! I can't exclude the office staff as they are friendly, attentive & ready to serve. Stephanie, Social Worker, always available, efficiently provides answers to my many questions & concerns. These days it's very hard to locate good medical care by all., usually there are a few bad apples. The staff, to name a few Karen Chase, RN; Jermayne Carter, Social Worker; Georgia in home aide does everything within their powers to make sure our Dad receives the best care. They are Phenomenal. They are in Crosby. They are convenient and they don't make us feel as if our dad is a burden to them.

In a tense time when I was under immense pressure to find care for my Aunt who was in a bad situation with current caregiver, I made dozens of calls to many different people. When Melinda Bass, owner of Ascend Hospice answered the phone, I could feel her genuine concern and compassion. Not only did we discuss my Aunt's potential for onboarding hospice care, but she went above and beyond by helping me find a place for my Aunt. I felt the genuine concern and the willingness to help. From her suggestion, we found the perfect place for my Aunt. It all felt like divine order, like angels were all around us. In addition to the immediate care they took of the situation, they are working for the greater good as it relates to my Aunt's care by coordinating with her PCP. I strongly recommend considering this group when researching hospice care for your loved one. Even just one phone call can change your (their) life - especially in the difficult times when hospice care is being considered.
