After 4 days of waiting for an appointment, I was FINALLY given a 1p-5p timeframe for pool service. Given that I had to take off from work all day to accomodate pool service scheduling, I WASTED ALL DAY WAITING with not so much as a courtesy phone call to allow me to schedule other priorities. The lack of professionalism by Serene Pools as a service provider for American Home Shield Warranty Company is less than adequate and below expectations. Our experience with the team at Serene started well but deteriorated quickly when our technician left the company. Within a few months we were experiencing algae issues and calcium build-up due to improper cleaning. We brought this to the attention of the office staff and they continued to send the same technician who was responsible for the problems. When we asked for someone different they refused and made me finish out the month. Well they didn't finish the month. They didn't even show up the last week. Serene Pools replaced our pool pump 4 weeks ago through American Home Shield warranty. 3 weeks later the pump went out again. Serene came back out and said sorry the new pump went out because it shorted out due to rain. WHAT? It's an outdoor pool pump that is supposed to be able to get wet. Serene wanted me to pay $475 to replace the brand new pump they just put in??? Called back to American Home Shield and requested 2nd opinion.2nd opinion Company agreed the pump needed to be replaced at no cost. They said only way the pool pump would short out is if it is submerged in water due to flood or it's defective. Obviously Serene didn't want to stand buy the product they just provided. I have continued to use Serene Pools for my equipment needs, and it seems like in the last year they have very much improved their front office operations (seemingly with a new hire). E-mails and phone calls are now returned fairly promptly, often the same day, and I have not had any more problems with missed appointments. More importantly, Jason and his staff's commitment to stand behind their work has become even more obvious. They have now replaced and rebuilt every part of our original pump/filter setup, and as happens, some of this work needed follow-up work, sometimes months after the original installations. In each case they have quickly and cheerfully made the needed repairs, usually at no cost. In short, these are good people committed to doing good work, and to making sure their work stands the test of time. No company is perfect, but I don't think one can ask for much more than this. --- original review on 04/07/16 --- As with others, I was connected with Serene Pools via AHS. They fixed a few problems under warranty, and I also had them replace our pump after the AHS warranty expired. I have only good things to say about Jason. He seems friendly, competent, and in particular, fair. I would love to use him for all of our pool-maintenance needs. The problem, however, is that to see Jason, you have to go through the front office, which seems like a complete disaster. Phones are often not answered, messages are often not returned, e-mails can go unanswered for days, appointments fail to make it into the system, and even when they do, techs may simply not show up at the appointed time. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Again...this is the AHS preferred vendor. Do not let AHS assign this company to you. Repeatedly, they will try to have claims denied. They will only fix anything that is under their $75 service charge limit. Anything major, they will try to have it denied by AHS and try to force massive payments from the customers. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They came out to fix my leak in my pool heater. They re routed pipes to disconnect the heater to stop the leak. They did stop my leak but caused my motor to run really loud and virtually no pressure in my D.E. filter. Everything aside from the heater leak was running quiet and had pressure before they came out. I called them out again. The tech told me the reason my motor was running loud is because I didn't have a handle on my basket. He did something to it and now runs even louder. They contract their business out to independent reps or hire techs who obviously do not know what they are talking about. I now have to call out another company to try and fix what they broke. I don't want them touching my pool equipment again. read more

Tech came outside of 4-hr service window, spoke to me (the customer) about other upset customers' attitudes toward him (Justin), and did not even diagnose the problem! Just told AHS that a rat had been in the heater unit, so it wouldn't be covered; knowing Serene still collects the $100 without showing the customer the damage. It took multiple calls on my part to even get this response. Complete lack of professionalism. Don't use this group, they will just collect your AHS fee and leave you without a resolution for several days. read more

This company was terrible to work with. Like many others, this company was assigned to me through AHS home warranty to fix a hot tub issue. They missed three appointments and failed to return my phone calls on several occasions. After 5 months (yes "months") they finally replaced the part that was needed. As relieved as I was that they finally took care of the issue, they only further disappointed with how poorly they reassembled the paneling. Poor quality of work, poor customer service, poor overall company. Avoid if possible. read more

Serene pools has been out twice on warranty calls with AHS. Both times have been great. They call quickly to schedule and they come out quickly to fix the problem. Chris is friendly and professional. My home warranty picked this company for me. Surprisingly my problem was covered. My tech Chris was nice. My issue is they replaced the control board and programmed it with my equipment but didn't set it to run anything!!! I realized this after my pool turned green. I contacted them about it which their response was that it is my responsibility to set everything. I have had pools my whole life and never had one not set the equipment to run. It takes two minutes. Now I have to pay my pool maintenance company to rebalance my pool and no swimming on the 4th of July. read more
