Joy and her team have exceeded my hopes. They have created a space where our mom is not only comfortable, but truly delighted in, respected, and cared for with love and excellence. The home is clean, the care is impeccable and mom has been on mostly bed rest for an extended time and has had beautiful skin care with no pressure sores. The food is home-cooked and delicious as well. What is also meaningful is how they care for us as a family. We feel supported, welcomed, and at peace knowing she is in such good hands. I've had enough...This place is a joke. It's been several months of nonstop bull. There are some…read morestaff members who are great like the two ladies I've met at the front desk. The PT staff is great but the nurses/cnas leave much to be desired. There is maybe a third of the staff that's great and on it but the others need to be held accountable for their actions. Weekend and night staff will leave patients sitting in their own urine or feces for long periods of time. The social worker onsite is rude and only professional in front of other people. She's very passive aggressive with comments. They come and take stuff out of patients closets and give it to other patients to use twice I've had to retrieve my family members jacket that has their name on it from another patient or the staff will use the patients personal items and steal their personal drinks and drink them. When the upper management leaves on the weekend and at night the staff gets really loud shouting to each other and laughing up and down the halls when patients are sleeping. Counted several times over the last several months where they leave patient lights on and don't respond for close to 30-40 minutes. The response given to me was they are all on break.(everytime?) it's not just been the one night or day. Wonder how many patients have had medical emergencies that they don't address right away. They feed diabetic patients nothing but sugar when their restrictions/preferences are listed at least from what I was told from other patient's family members and from my own observations, are they trying to send them back to the ER. Or the patient whose daughter told me has diverticulitis and they feed her items that can cause flare ups. The cnas come and take pull ups and wipes from other patients because according to them there is not enough supplies. They do this while in the middle of cleaning others up. That's a nice way to cause cross contamination and cause other patients to develop rashes/possibly catch diseases. I'm sure the CDC, OSHA and the state would have a field day. I'll be sure to be filing a concern with the state.

My mom is 90 and has been here for about 7 years. She is now in a wheelchair and needs to be helped…read morewith bathing and getting to and from all of her activities. Other than those things she does all her own dressing, personal care, eating and is active in the community. The owner was Dan and the director was Tommi when she moved in. It was wonderful then. It was sold to Oxford Health Corp and the current director of the facility acts like he cares but then is unkind. The Director acts good to the residents when corporate comes to visit. He is very rude, disrespectful and condescending to my mother. The Villas is a less desirable place to live now compared to how it was. Making money and cutting programs, staff and the quality of the food is now the Corporations #1 priority, not the residents. The Receptionists, Activity Directors, Med Techs, direct care givers and Admin Assistant are wonderful people and really care about the residents. Although many of the caregivers are under trained and often short staffed so answering call buttons takes a long time. But that is the fault of their directors. Most of them are very kind, just not properly instructed. The food is not gourmet as they claim. They say they offer transportation but the bus is often broke down. The building, rooms and grounds are nice but if you have to share a room, due to financial reasons, be prepared for sharing a bathroom, refrigerator and to have competing noise with TVs, tablets, phone conversations and visitor conversations. The cost of the room is reasonable for all the amenities but if you need any kind of care the cost is ridiculous! So, why do we keep Mom there? Partly because she's 90 but mostly because she has built community with some of staff and residents and is willing to take the bad with the good!

They both started out good but had a constant turnover in management which meant there was no stability of supervision of the staff working below them. There was many times the kitchens would run out of food for their residents, which was unbelievable. There would be no managers on call at night if a problem came up that I needed addressed. The Villas of San Bernardino is the shining star of Assisted Living facilities. Most of the management have been here many years, some over 18 years. With that stability in their management, the entire facility runs extremely smooth. There is always a manager on duty after hours that will answer your call. I cannot say enough good things about the Executive Director Kenya, Office Manager Yvette, Sales Manager Gladys, Activity Directors Janet and Courtney, Chef Ismael, Maintenance manager Juan, and all the caregivers and office support. My Mom was on hospice her last year here and was extremely well cared for by her caregivers. My Father in Law was here 15 years ago and many members of my church were here as well. Don't make the mistake that I did by looking at any other facilities, the Villas IS THE BEST hands down for your loved ones, you won't be disappointed.

She had a hard time with the call button. Her room mate was very loud and was giving the staff a really hard time. I had to switch mom to another room with better access to the toilet. She did better with her physical therapy in the new room too. They got her to walk again after her fall last January she stayed til March The staff did their best but was under staffed at times it took awhile to answer the call button. My mom said she got tired of waiting and used her wheelchair to get to the toilet. The girls never came to help some of the time. It was better than some places I've seen and worked in.
