I puchased a massage through Groupon for a 90 minute aromatherapy and face and foot wrap. I have never had an experience like this one. With ANY service provider. EVER!!!!!
First of all, and I will address this in sequential order, when I contacted the service provider she was not available and did not answer my inquiry. I was instructed by the message machine, after 4 tries of leaving one, that I should text instead of rely on a call. OMG RED flags!!! So I texted and this was the dialog:

Me: Am I on at 10?
No response. OMG RED flags!
I had begun trying in vain to contact the location and confirm my appointment. So I decided to travel there to see if I was on at 10. I arrive there a little after 10am. One young girl provides me with paperwork to fill out and then escorts me to the room. She then advises she will be the therapist and she would be with me soon. When I filled out my paperwork, they asked what type of pressure I wanted. I put more towards the deepest part. When she began the massage, I stated that she could go deeper. She said "That wasn't her thing and that she would do her best." OMG RED flags! I had told her that I want concentration on my upper back and shoulders as well as, ensuring my feet were paid attention to before the foot wrap.
When she worked her way up my back, she said you have sun burn on your shoulders so I will treat you with a towel. I assumed she was just going to be a bit more gentle in that area. Totally disappointed, she wiped my upper back and then did not touch it again. For real!!! I did get mildly sunburned three weeks before!! She ended up punishing me for the time it took for getting ready and not being present or prepared at 10. After 50 minutes, she said we were done. I inquired if it had been 90 minutes already. She said oh no we only do 60 minutes. I was shocked! So much so, I was in a foggy state and was NOT thinking clearly. I had purchased aromatherapy and face and foot wrap in addition to the 90 minutes. I only received 50 minutes of time and a mediocre at best, flat massage. I did not even argue the point at that time. So unlike me!
Once I was dressed, I went out and tipped her. I have never worked for tips but know many who have. I am a generous tipper and had I known what was going to happen I would not have given her a dime. She then asked me for my voucher. She wanted me to show her it again. In additon to sending the screenshot of the voucher the day before, she asked to see it twice more at the location. I did that and she said she was going to mark it as redeemed. I did not fully understand what she meant and I wasnt sure what to expect, so I did not respond. She then apparently redeemed it knowing full well that I could have no stake or claim to it. I'm new to Groupon and I did not understand nor did I know not to allow her to do this. I figured I would go ahead get through with it and then deal with this later. I was livid and just wanted to get the hell out of there before my entire relaxation (not worth the money and my time) was stripped away and I went to jail for hurting a child impersonating a real therapist and a legitment business. I was not enjoying this and I felt trapped in an uncomfortable situation. Also I had no idea that you could return the amount to get your money back initially. If I would have known that, I would have not given her the business to begin with. Especially when I could not even make an appointment in an easy, user friendly way.
I intiated conversation with Groupon to resolve this situation. I want to be very clear, I did not want Groupons money. I wanted for the business to not be compensated for something she did not do. However, regardless of how Groupon worked to make me "whole" again, my obligation is to share this horrible experience so no one wastes their time and money on an unprofessional, uneducated massage therapist and business.
I was manipulated by a poorly educated child. She knew how to work the system for the best of her benefit and had no moral issues in doing so. It is with disgust and regret that I take my time to provide this review. Do not allow this "service provider" to take advantage of your genorosity and trust! read more
