I went to this salon to get a Brazilian wax. It was not my first Brazilian wax, but it was my first Brazilian wax at this salon and my first time visiting. There was another woman waiting on a bikini wax next to me (they were very open discussing your procedure publicly). There was a girl (about 5?) on the couch in just a tee and a diaper. She seemed too old to be in a diaper. Her young mother sat with her which I took to be the owner's daughter? or she worked there? The young girl was rowdy and obnoxious, annoying myself and the other woman. Her mother sat reading a romance novel doing nothing to control her unruly daughter. At one point the girl looked at her mother and said "I wet myself" and giggled. The mother told her to lay down and right there in the waiting room she took the diaper off a 5 year old girl, raised her legs and performed a diaper change!! And the mother seemed overly obsessed with wiping her daughter's bottom. I get the call for my service and go back to the room and lo and behold in walks the young mother who just did the diaper change was going to be my esthecian! I told her to wash her hands first and she did, although she seemed indignant by my request as she said she would be wearing gloves. She then asked me to get FULLY undressed...including my blouse and bra!! I debated with her about that, but she said she had got wax on a clients expensive blouse once and had to pay for it, so now she does all her client waxing with them nude. I complied, and there I stood naked in my birthday suit and she had me lay down. It was then I noticed she had the door cracked so she could keep an I on her daughter! There were women in the waiting room, but at best they could only see my face, so I wasn't real concerned although it seemed a little uncomfortable. Then she proceeded with the wax. And this is why I give the four stars in light of everything else...it was the most comfortable, painless, enjoyable wax I had ever had. She got every hair, every where, perfectly. Her hands were smooth and pleasant when touching me. She was truly like a professional, for lack of all her manners outside the room. I don't ever recall feeling pain. She was slow and didn't rush, but I prefer a nice pace on a Brazilian. Maybe it all felt good because I was totally naked lol who knows! About halfway through my wax...I had turned over on my side for the buttocks at this point. She excused herself and took her gloves off and said she had to go deal with her daughter. I had been keeping one eye on the door crack and from time to time I could tell her daughter was getting annoying and rowdy. Then she walks out the door leaving it wide open and me laying there butt naked!! She walked over to her daughter, grabbed her by the arm and starts scolding her. She tries to scold in a normal tone without yelling with customers there, so I couldn't here all, but I do hear her say at one point "on your bare bottom". At that point her daughter tried to pull away and her mother starts pulling her towards the restroom (which was next to my room) while starting to take her daughter's diaper off with the other hand. By the time she got to the bathroom her diaper was off and she was bare bottom below the waist and her mother said as she opened the bathroom door "You are getting a spanking". The mother was clearly upset. The girl was still struggling as her mom pulled her into the bathroom and locked the door. In about a minute I could hear the indistinguishable sound of a mother's hand falling on her daughter's bare bottom. The walls were thin and I could hear the girl asking her mother to stop spanking her and her mother saying she was just a brat and deserved a good over the knee spanking. The spanking seemed to go on forever, but in all I suppose it was about two (?) minutes. The door opens, the mother comes out holding her daughters hand, she is still bottomless but very submissive and behaving now. The mother walks her to the waiting room and asks her mother(?) for a fresh diaper to put on her. The daughter's bare bottom cheeks and thighs are a glowing red and she is crying but trying to keep it under control. After she gets the diaper on the mother sits her daughter down and tells her to behave or she will get another spanking. Then she comes back to me in the room and slightly closes the door again. Her right hand has a bright red palm and is shaking. She apologizes, saying she hasn't had to spank her daughter on her bare bottom in two months! Then she finishes the wax on my bottom and crack area. Amazingly I have to say, she remained a steady hand although she was visibly upset with her daughter. After she finished up, I'm left to get dressed and as I am leaving the building, the woman is outside smoking a cigeratte while holding her diapered daughter who has collected herself by now. As a male client of this salon since the day it was opened, I recommend it more now then under the previous owner. Grace C. failed to mention that her mother was the previous owner, everything she described in her review is more like what occurred during the previous ownership, yes, I witnessed it personally, as well as many conversations between the previous owner and her clients that should not be discussed in front of other clientele. I am going to start this review by saying that, I have been a long time client of this salon. With that being said, it absolutely breaks my heart to be writing this review. I was aware before coming to the salon the last time, that it was now under new ownership. Now, anyone that has been going to a salon for 8 years knows that (1) You build a relationship with your hairstylist (2) You become comfortable with your surroundings and expectations when visiting a business as often as I have been. Considering those two things alone, I knew that when visiting the salon under the new ownership, that there would be changes, and I also knew that I would be critical, because lets be honest its normal to be critical when visiting any place of business. I'm going to use a large chain"all in one stop shop" as example. (It starts with a W) I am not going to name this place, but I am sure you can guess where I am going. When I go into this place of business I expect to see people walking around in Pajamas, now showered, and all the handicapped scooters being utilized by people who are NOT handicapped. As for this business under new ownership...I am going to paint the picture as best as I can for anyone reading this. When I first walked into the front door, I was greeted by a larger black dog, who lunged and barked at me. Now, I have dogs larger than that at home, so I am not afraid of large animals. However, I was not expecting an aggressive animal to be in that salon. I attempted to allow the animal to smell me, so that I could pet it. The animal continued to bark and growl. At this time I hear a woman yell at the animal to "get over here." As I looked to my left there are couches for customers to sit on while waiting. On the couches are 2 children. The children are laying down with blankets and pillows like they would be at home watching cartoons on a Saturday morning. I am a mother of 3, so I can understand if the children are sick and have to come to work with Mom for the day. Then it hits me, as I look around nobody is wearing masks, so if in fact these children are sick there could be a chance that I can now be exposed to whatever is keeping these children home from school. At his point in time my first reaction is just to walk out. I'm only at this salon because I want to support the same salon I have been supporting for 8 years. Even though the woman who is going to do my hair today is not my regular stylist, I am familiar with her and comfortable. Plus, I want to support the girls that have been at that salon for so long. So, I decide to just sit down and wait my turn for my stylist to become available. While waiting the receptionist comes to her desk to sit. The receptionist is wearing sweat pants and no shoes. Then the owner peeks around the corner and is wearing what appears to be shorts that fit the small child laying on the couch (not her) and a tank top with no bra. I just keep thinking to myself that I need to just walk out, but again I don't, and regret that. I finally sit down with my stylist, during my visit I had to use the restroom. When walking in the restroom I could smell marijuana. I approached my stylist on the situation, and she apologized but stated unfortunately I am not the first to complain about this situation under the new management. With all of this being said, as I am sure you can understand, I will not be returning to this salon. I am grateful that I was in there alone and without my small children. It really is heartbreaking to be writing such a negative review about a place my family has grown to love. He point of a review is to give the consumer another persons opinion and experience to help them make educated decisions on where to take their business.
