Before contracting with Brad Gates Catering, my fiance and i spoke to several local caterers both preferred and not preferred by our venue, the Indianapolis Art Center. Brad Gates Catering is a preferred vendor for the IAC and came highly recommended by the staff at IAC. From the first email, to pricing, to the contract and payment options, BGC has provided an easy, stress-less and smooth process. Meggin was very responsive and proactive when working with us and our fixed budget. We didn't want to cut quality while cutting cost, and Meggin understood that and was able to put together a menu that not only meets our budgetary needs, but also our tastes. She is on the ball with all the nuances behind planning and executing a wedding reception dinner so she's been a huge help and resource when it comes to managing and making decisions around things like kids menu, buffet set-up and the like. Meggin was able to make adjustments to our proposed menu and has been wonderful with fielding all my endless questions as I navigate through the wedding planning process. We actually bought 2 orders of the $159 package, because initially we were expecting like 12 people to feed. We wound up only needing to feed 9 so we had an abundance of leftovers. Each package quoted it would feed 6-8 and I think that is true, and they weren't skimpy. It's a take and bake, so you pick up the day before Thanksgiving (we picked up at Irvington Sahm's) and then you heat up the next day and they give you easy instructions to do so. Rachel and her husband were amazing. The arrived early, setup, and was all ready before the first guest arrived. They served beer, wine and cider. They did an excellent job of making sure there was something to fit everyone's tastebuds. The address is listed as south of 465, but this service is a mobile beer trailer. We went with the 1960s Vintage Camper. If you look at my photos, you'll see the camper. But go to Indybeertaps.com and you'll see more photos. The camper was very picturesque. They setup a chalkboard with the drink selections listed. There was a wicker chair and a planter as well. These small touches went a long way to create a picture perfect memorable event. Jeff delivered the meals the next day from our telephone call -- despite being very, very busy with other much larger catering jobs. My friends report that the food is absolutely delicious.
