I was under the impression that these were direct employees of his, his crew. Basically he was acting as a general contractor that hired another company or hired some people looking for work. Not really sure here. I realize I made some changes, but they were clear and written in a revised proposal. I didn't want the doors painted, then I got a phone call that they were painted. Sure, he didn't charge me for this, but that is proper after all. I didn't want the trim painted, and paid for that, because I missed it in the proposal. My fault. They also painted the hardware for opening/closing the windows, those were metal and need the proper paint, I did have them take that off. The house didn't have flooring in, so I was asked about drop cloths, I said use them but don't worry too much about a few paint splatters. However, I did indicate that I wasn't removing the slate flooring and to be careful. Here is a big fail, many paint spots. He tried to have them clean it up. Now the floor is sticky, you can here the soles of your shoes and feel it too. He tried cleaning that up, when it wasn't done, he offered to do it again. I really felt he had done enough. I'm still trying to find a way to clean this up, because it's sticky any dust or what not sticks to it. It's really upsetting, as I loved this detail. I will look to bring in some professionals and see what this will set me back. There's also spots on the bathroom floors, which were also said that I wasn't removing. And those doors that were painted, they weren't dry and were closed, now that paint has popped off, so I have to touch that up, or maybe just start replacing doors. I realize also this review is a year since the work was done, I was in the middle of doing the rest of the work this last year. I almost considered them for doing the kitchen rehab. I really feel I dodged a bullet there. Noah, is a nice man, I think his intentions are good. However, the whole interior project was a mess, left me very frustrated, and I have projects left to do because of it. I don't think he checked up on the work as it was being done, and I don't think he looked at it after until I contacted him. Paint shouldn't have been on that slate, nor should you stick to your floor. I also had to point on paint spots on light fixtures, that should've been cleaned. Just no.

I got Scott's information from a neighbor because I was new to the neighborhood…read more First day on the job, he put up one side of the railing crooked and left for the day. I was scratching my head when I saw that, as in, how did that ever happened? Didn't he have the basic tool, like a level? His partner even said he had told him it was not straight. The next day he came back to fix it, but I already had a bad feeling about that. Long story short, a couple of months later, one of the balusters fell off to the ground. It was then that I realized he was using screws to tighten ONLY 1/3 of the balusters, he was using skinny nails for the rest. The balusters warped and moved because of exposure to the outdoor elements and popped out. We had to get replacements to fix the issue. I got 10 and I used them all, because more of them fell off or became warped. Then yesterday afternoon, I was just slightly leaning on one side of the railing and it shifted under my 125 lbs weight. I immediately contacted Scott. He read the message for sure, but he hasn't replied. My recommendation: do not use SJS handyman at all cost. It took him and his partner "5 days" to finished the job, because for a couple of days he would leave for late lunches and didn't come back. He even walked off middle of the job one day because of a heated argument with his partner. He's very unprofessional and without my knowledge, used some of the 20 year old existing wood added to the new deck.

Horrible Service! Unfortunately my home warranty company sent this business to my home. The…read moregentleman told me that there was a mini fuse box hidden in a wall or my ceiling. He said that i would need to open either the wall or ceiling to find the missing box. Told me that he would call home warranty ask for more time to find that box. In the mean time i asked him if he checked all of the junction boxes. He said he did. He said he would call me back on Friday and tell me what was going on with the warranty company. He did not. I contacted him he told me he would call me back. He did not! Ended up having another electrical company come out. The first junction box the walked up to they opened it and the wires were loose! ‍ They tightened everything and everything works now! I paid this man $75 for NOTHING! And he almost had me rip the ceiling out of my basement. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS MAN! He didn't check the junction boxes like i asked. And he couldn't even find a simple loose wire!
