After going into the Santa Maria Ulta and not being satisfied with there lack of knowledge and customer service. I proceeded to Sephora in Jcpenny's 10 minutes before closing in a rush, and was immediately greeted by stacey who was very helpful, had a positive attitude and was so welcoming even though it was practically closing time. I wish I knew the name of the employee that ALWAYS helps me. She is the most attentive, she's always there, and she makes sure to get my needs met as best as possible. I originally went to the Sephora in SLO because it has a wider selection of products. They were out of my shade, so I called the Sephora in SM and Bequi was so helpful!! I could tell they were a busy and she still took the time to check to see if they had the shade I needed and put it on hold for me. I frequent Sephora stores often (mostly in LA) and she was one of the most helpful people I have come across! Not sure what the negative reviews are about, the staff is still helpful and upbeat even with the stress of being understaffed. read more

I came on a Saturday and there was only one employee. The store should know Saturdays gets busy and get at least two people. The employee was slow or did not know what she was doing because she kept going back and forth between two registers. read more

My first visit was okay. Unfortunately my second visit was unpleasant. I literally started ORGANIZING the items in order to find the one I wanted. The girl on the sales floor literally was running back and forth and did not asked if I needed any help. Thankfully I have my Sephora app and was using it the whole time. As much as I would like to support Santa Maria's Sephora, I will not go back. MESSIEST and most DISORGANIZED Sephora I've ever walked in. It's pretty sad. Completely understaffed which makes their customer service a hit or miss. You will need to wait in line for someone to get to the cash register, and there are little to no beauty experts to help you with questions. Keep in mind this is a small location. I've been there about 4 times... I wanted to support and shop in my local community. Will go back shoping online or make the drive to SLO. I really hope they turn this place around! read more

The Sephora located in Santa Maria is horrible. I've shopped in many Sephora locations and not all are perfect, but they are better than the Santa Maria location. The store is consistently a mess. No matter what day or what time you visit, it looks sloppy and unkempt. The displays are messy and dirty. The products are not displayed properly with their descriptive labels and price tags. Absolutely terrible experience with Nikki at this location. I have strong allergy to certain fragrance ingredients and Nikki seemed irritated by me asking for samples. One employee stands out above the rest. Stacy. Each time I've gone in she has helped me and always made me feel welcomed and knows customer service. There's no attitude with her or she doesn't make you feel like you need to rush. Very relaxing. Yeah this Sephora is small but it's expected. So understandably less products and not stocked up often. Sephora is so unprofessional and so unsanitary. While color matching myself the MANAGER insisted she needed to match me. So since it's her job I allowed her.. she didn't sanitize her hands.. didn't wash them.. she didn't use and sort of brushes or beauty blenders.. SHE LITERALLY JUST TOUCHED MY FACE WITH HER FINGER. As a MUA that is so disgusting. You never touch a clients face without sanitizer or washing them first. And you definitely don't use a finger to put foundation on their skin. Honestly I don't know if I even went to the SAME Sephora reading these reviews. But I DID! I went in to get color matched because my works Christmas party was this Friday. (The day after tomorrow. Shame on me for procrastinating BTW). Rebecca was so nice and amazing. She helped me choose the right one. Gave me choices and even helped me do my eyebrows. When I wanted to go pay, Turns out the shade of foundation was out of stock and I was like "OH NO." Rebecca looked at me and said "I'll be right back" and I was like oh ok. She came back with a little baggy with the right shade of foundation sample! This girl went in the back and scraped every single bit of foundation she could in the bottle we used to color match me so I would be able to use it for my works annual Christmas party! If that isn't good customer service than I DUNNO WHAT IS. She even ordered it online for me and I'll be getting it here at my house plus free shipping. read more

Horrible customer service. Even though it was Sunday and I expected it would be busy and packed, it wasn't. There was only myself and a mother and daughter in there. As I was looking for someone to at least test out foundation I only seen one girl behind the register so I didn't bother her since she was ringing out someone as I started to play with the makeup myself I did notice two more employees walking pass me not asking if I needed help till finally I had to ask her if she had something in stock... well she just rolled her eyes and said,what we have out is what we got.. she did walk away after that and I did notice that they would rather be behind the register on their phones. I also notice that they don't have any products in stock... and this is the third time I been in there. Overall I thought I would give it another chance but this will be the last time I will be shopping in there. read more
